Hands down one of my top five favorite places to eat in my hometown! I always look forward to having a bean and cheese or veggie burrito when I visit home from Davis where I go to school. The food is so inexpensive for the portion, especially compared to Davis, Mexican food is at least two dollars more there, boo! Everyone that works here is nice and the service is generally pretty good even during lunch and dinner rush. You can call ahead though and place your order before you get there to speed it up. The only downside is the space issue. Parking is limited to a small lot and sometimes it can be a tight squeeze to get in or out during lunch or dinner rush so it's best to park on the street during those times. Also, if it's crowded there's not a lot of space when you're waiting for your food; I've often found myself in the way of people getting soda or salsa. But the good outweighs the bad by a long shot so I highly recommend you try this place! read more

Today was a bummer, cheese quesadilla with literally no cheese. I get it's a cheap item menu but it always seems to be inconsistent when it comes to how much cheese one puts in. Seems like my burrito has more cheese :( read more

Cinco De Mayo is always my go-to for yummy Mexican food. Free chips and salsa and horchata, too. I have never been disappointed by their food, the service isn't spectacular, but its never horrible. Much better than the Walnut Creek location also. read more

Nothing to get excited about. Let me just say that I am Mexican and from LA. And this is not what good mexican food is supposed to taste like. Yes, I know, it is fast food but seriously, just because you pour red sauce all over everything doesn't mean that its good. To me everything tasted the same. Here to express my disappointing experience with Cinco de Mayo Customer Service and Food. I called in for a pick up order and instead of being placed on hold, they left the phone laying on the counter and I could her their conversations and never did they pick up and say they will be back with me to help (15mins). Decided to order through DoorDash and luckily the system took our order and food arrived on time. However, the tamales were dry and had lots of "masa" and the rest of the food lacked presentation, flavor and did not look like what was pictured on the menu. There was no utensils or salsa given for our dinner order. Very disappointing. :( What happened? read more

This is the hole-in-the wall Mexican place I've been looking for. Very inexpensive food, delicious burritos (I recommend the Al Pastor), Mexican cokes, outdoor covered seating, and it's own parking lot. Also, the service is lightning fast; find a seat and you meal is hot on your heels. For me, the burrito is a gateway meal to a Mexican restaurant and Cinco de Mayo has got me hooked. I've been coming to this restaurant for years I'm very satisfied with their food their prices are very reasonable I even brought my son there once didn't have enough money and the lady gave me free food for my boy . Pretty good, but not the best. I had the fiesta burrito, chimichanga carnitas, and soft taco carnitas. Definitely very cheap (12 bucks), but the carnitas was pretty tough. The concord Taqueria Los Gallos is the best ...period! read more

The menu was incredible with choices for everyone, the service was very friendly, the restaurant was clean, there was outdoor seating, the food came and we felt this was the best Mexican food we ever had. The food is okay. Not the best I've had but for a local take out last minute thing it's good. The burritos are filling and big but the chicken can can be dry and bony. The chiliquilas are watery and tasteless. First time I had them they were the best I had ever had cheesy, butter delicious red sauce and tons of meat, but twice since I ordered them and it was so watery it was like tortilla soup with barely any cheese. So I guess the first time was a fluke. The enchiladas are dry but the crispy tacos are excellent and the flautas are pretty good also. Service has always been quick and good, only got the wrong order once and they fixed it for me quickly. I go when I am too lazy to go to Los Panchos. read more

I dont know why but this location is the best one around. I love mexican food but grew up in New Mexico where being "mexican" is much different than mexican out here. For California mexican it took me a long time to find a good place and I like this one best. (Gordos is REALLY GOOD if your around berkeley/el-cerrito area). This place will customize anything and its really cheap. I like crispy tacos or soft tacos. Their chile relleno is good too. My hubby always gets a burrito and those are HUGE. Mission stylep burritos with whatever you want. I think the most expensive you can get here is $10 per person. But don't let price fool you. Food is good. read more

I live 3 minutes away from this location...we've been going there since it first opened at least 5 years ago...it used to be a lot better before they opened there other location by Nob Hill Foods. It seems like who ever was the cook here left this location to go to the other Cinco....because our favorite thing to order is the Fiesta Burrito. You never know what your going to get....my favorite is the Carnitas Burrito...either its good...or its full of hard, burnt, chunks of dried pork....the stuff that's supposed to be discarded when there chunking out the roast!. We recently went to Taqueria Limon 2 at the Viilage Oaks Shopping Center on Arnold Dr.....we ordered the Super Carnitas Burrito...it was excellent!...tons of moist pork......huge...with a bag of tortilla chips that puts Cincos to shame....at least 6 different salsa to choose from...and they wrap them right....not like Cincos wrap...where they tuck a huge chunk of tortilla into the burro to take up space.....well you guessed it...we won't be going to Cinco for a long while.... read more

First of all I just want to say the portions are huge for a cheap price. And to me it's delicious. You get the side bar with chips and salsa etc. I like little places like this. Service was easy and the employee were nice. The only thing is parking is a tight squeeze and it's usually is packed. Had to give it three stars instead of the four because it was quite stuffy inside and there were flies flying around but that's what happens when the doors are open on a hot day. I ordered the streak burrito, it was mediocre. The rice was a bit dry and bland, the beans were OK, the meats seasoning was a very umm, distinct? It wasn't badly seasoned, but didn't really taste very good. I was overall disappointed with the burrito, maybe other items are better? I'll never know, I'm not going again. read more

If you want great and consistent Mexican food, be sure to order from Cinco De Mayo in Martinez, next to Nob Hill, NOT the Pacheco location. I don't know why but the food is NEVER as good as it is at the Martinez location. Carnitas is ALWAYS over cooked and DRY, like Bone Dry. They can not even get a Door Dash order correct. Hello, it's spelled out. I'm mean, seriously, how do you mess up crispy beef tacos and refried beans with chicken tacos and bean dip? I WISH the Martinez location offered Door Dash. 5 stars because it is cheap, close, and Delicious. Okay parking sucks but $2 for a bean and cheese? You could feed 10 people that for only $20 that's like cheaper and better than a pizza. Okay, quick review because justice has not been done. We LOVE this place! The chicken items are great. Combo #1 fills you up, and a burrito to take home. Hard to find a place where you can get a (small) meat only burrito. Crispy chicken tacos are very good, and chicken taco salad will surely fill you up (and then some). Mole sauce is very nice. I got a super shrimp burrito to-go. The service was average, the wait was short, and the burrito was good. The flavor of the shrimp was tasty, but there was so much rice and beans in the burrito that they took over the taste of every bite. The only difference between the regular and super burrito is the size. You have to ask for anything extra like sour cream, guacamole, or salsa. Oh and if you like cheese you better ask for that too because mine was non-existent. read more

I was told this was a great place to eat Mexican, I ordered a shredded beef wet burrito. I was totally disappointed, when I opened it up there was only two cubes of beef that is it! shouldn't of it been taken apart hence the shredded? and why barely any meat? The guy at the counter was nice. We ordered lots of food, its just OK nothing spectacular.
