From the very beginning, no one came to our table for at least 10 minutes. We had to ask for our menus.. the silverware never came. We ordered guacamole and two orders of fajitas. The service was so slow that people were getting out of their seats and going to the bar to get their drinks. People were reaching into the outdoor chip container to get their own ships, which was absolutely disgusting. People were ranting and raving how bad it was. Our guacamole never came. Our food came. Bloomingdale, NJ - this place is a favorite of the locals and among my top 3 Mexican restaurants in the area, but is the one we like to dine in at the most because the food is always good, it's homey, and the people are very sweet. I'm always psyched for the salsa here and could probably polish off a whole basket of tortilla chips by myself with it. It's got just the right amount of mild kick. You're given a complimentary cheesy tortilla as an appetizer as well. We often get the queso derretido con chorizo appetizer, a combo platter of some sort, and I'm a fan of their paella as well, which is stuffed to the brim with chicken, chorizo, and seafood. They serve up a complimentary dessert of banana & honey chimichanga at the end which is yummy. The prices have gone up a fair bit in the last couple of years, and they do charge 4% for credit card payment (an increasingly common practice that's anathema to someone who hates carrying cash like me), so I was tempted to take away a star. But in light of our overall great experiences here, always satisfying meals, excellent and friendly service (shoutout to Fabian), not to mention the freebies they throw in, a 5-star rating is still justified. read more

Changed! We like the food and have been coming here for years. Ordered a $32 entree and a margarita and was still hungry, so I added an appetizer at the end of my meal. There was about a mere 1/4 cup of rice and a 1/3 cup of beans provided as sides. No longer do they serve a small quesadilla prior to the entree. That used to be a much appreciated gesture. My bill for one was $72.00. So disappointed with the smaller than previous portions and the cost is relatively expensive. Definitely under new and rather stingy management. Back when they were first starting out, gave a free quesadilla, dessert and to end the night a tequila shot. Got big now. Went with my daughter and a 4 and 6 year old that only eat the guacamole dip and cheese quesadilla. Ordered adult meals, pitcher of margaritas, apple juices and three quesadillas each for the kids (remember they USED to give those out for free). Food usual quality. No free 'dessert' as before and charged $29.92 for 6 quesadilla (cheese). Ones that they used to give for free. Papi, your kids are going to kill your business. Excellent authentic Mexican food with outstanding attentive service. This is a very small but quaint hidden gem. Fantastic menu options with a full bar and mixed drink menu. Within minutes of seating you are politely served chips and homemade salsa. The Campesino was prepared perfectly. A huge portion that couldn't be finished. A traditional margarita was also prepared nicely with a nice added touch of tajin on the rim. The attentive and very accommodating service was concluded with a complimentary dessert. The sweet Chimichanga with whipped cream was decadent. And just when I thought the service couldn't get any better, I was offered a complimentary shot of tequila. This restaurant was five stars in all respects. A 4% fee is charged for CC and is prominently posted on the front of the menu. What a find. A small Mexican restaurant that is so quaint and authentic. Salsa brought to table along with tortilla w cheese for each person on the house. Waiters were so polite. The menu is a perfect Mexican cuisine and full of selections to make your dining enjoyable. Our food was delicious from the guacamole, our 2 dinners and at time of check the waiter brought us a tasty Mexican dessert on the house. After we ate it the waiter asked if we would like a shot of tequila on the house. We never had this type of hospitality at a small family run restaurant. Yesterday I went for belated Cinco de Mayo celebrations. I hadn't sat out on the patio, but since it was a beautiful day out yesterday, I did and it was festive to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is very cute and clean. The staff is all very friendly but when it come to the food. There was a lot of flavor missing. The huevos rancheros came with two tortillas and then two eggs with rice and beans. The two tortillas had some sort of chorizo in between but it wasn't good. There wasn't enough of the actual salsa but that was ok because it didn't taste so great either. Rice was super dry like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for too long. Beans had no flavor to them so I can't say they were good. Maybe they have other items that are more popular but this really wasn't a place I would come back to in I lived in the area read more

This place was such a good find! Right in our backyard, very cozy and welcoming. The servers are so friendly and accommodating. We were seated right away and were served salsa and chips- Shortly followed by a cheese quesadilla - both on the house. Totally hit the spot to satisfy the appetizer craving. We got the fresh guacamole which was made right in front of us- customized to your preference. We ordered the sizzling fajitas special and the Pollo juanito. The fajitas was so flavorful and the sides were fresh. The chicken was served with a side is salad, beans and rice - zesty and delicious. The red sangria was amazing! My family of 4 stopped here on the way home from Mountain Creek heading towards NYC. We pulled up and were skeptical when we saw the little nondescript restaurant that looked like a house from the side. We decided to give it a try anyway we were all happy we did! The food was delicious the decor was welcoming and cute and the food was a hit with all 4 of us. We had the tacos, 2 orders enchiladas Suiza and beef tostadas. Only complaint is probably that it was a little pricy for Mexican food but it's what I expect since restaurants were hard hit by Covid. We knew what to expect since we checked the menu before heading in. Everyone was happy with their meal and the service was even better. This is my favorite local Mexican restaurant. We constantly dine in, order take out and order delivery from this place. Everything we have ordered thus far has been delicious and in huge portions. I would recommend getting the margarita pitcher as it ends up saving the table a ton of money. Instead of paying for three 13$ margaritas each we just paid for a single pitcher instead and it saved us a lot. We recently got the strawberry frozen margarita pitcher and it was made perfectly ! It was not too sweet or too syrupy like some other frozen strawberry margaritas ive gotten from other locations. We typically order the burritos with variations of shredded chicken, ground beef, shredded beef, roasted pork, and vegetables. My personal favorite is the chicken burritos. The meals are huge, coming with large portions of rice and refried beans covered in delicious cheese. When you actually go into the restaurant to dine in, they often provide the tables with free items such as chips, salsa, mini cheese quesadilla appetizers, then tequila shots, and banana honey fried spring rolls with whipped cream for dessert. I would highly recommend anyone check this place out you will not be disappointed! read more

Place is small but cute. We were seated right away on a Sunday night. Servers were attentive. We ordered white sangria and a frozen margarita. I didn't like the sangria but the margarita was good and gigantic. We started with the guac which they make table side to your liking. It was very good. Then for entrees I had some enchiladas and my boyfriend had the steak tacos. I liked mine more than he liked his. The enchiladas were great and I love the rice here. I realized that this reminded me of a place I used to go in Rockland county because the food is almost the same. I asked and it turns out the owners are brothers. This is great news because I loved it there! I will definitely return when I'm in the mood for Mexican. read more
