That being said, the setup definitely leaves you a bit wanting. If you want to pay with cash, you have to go to the main entrance. The secondary entrance (for screens 12-14) can only accept credit cards. They run showtimes nearly back-to-back, so you have to wait in the entranceway for your screen to be called. Although screens 12-14 are smaller, this still results in a large crowd of people about ten minutes before showtime.

Came here for a free preview viewing of Interstellar with EMC. Nice lovely seats and a big screen…read more Good air-conditioning and the sound system was just right. However the addition of cup holders in the seats would be nice. The location is very convenient with a parking lot nearby as well as being easy to get to from public transport. The theater has a lovely Art Deco feel and the stylized artwork motif of the 1920s is all over the walls and ceilings (at least it was in the theater I was siting in). The bathrooms were nice too, but you do have to pay for usage. I would come here again :)

Invited by a client to an event, we went - after a loooong time - to Kinepolis. What's happening…read morehere ? No glory anymore... It's a cold and nasty place. Of course, we do understand that also the economy (= savings) did his entry here, but anyway.... it should be a cozy place here. The movie tickets are already expensive and you must already pay for a parking (6 euro). There are lanes where you can pay free, but is it safe ? I don't let my car there ! The 'restaurants' are basic, ugly and ... expensive. I don't recommend this place to somebody. Happy that we have a better cinema nearby and otherwise, other possibilities to see a move.

Styx has minuscule rooms with literally twenty seats and small screen (but big enough). The movies offers is limited but very peculiar with quite a choice of independent productions or pictures you wouldn't usually find in the mainstream chains. All this, in a number of languages. The last time I went, I watched a great Indian movie with French subs. The only small remark I have to make is that it was a bit cold inside which during the Brussels winter it could be a problem. Styx has tiny rooms, usually with only a handful of other clients watching at a time. There are only a relatively small selection of films, but they all seem to be hand-picked and therefore of high quality. The mix includes both mainstream and arty movies in a mix of languages. No need to go early to queue for tickets and no multiplex style sweet/popcorn shop... I just wish there was a slightly faster rotation in the films - it's easy to have seen the 2 or 3 you want and feel like nothing changes for another month. Styx is altogether another experience to the big cinema chains, and therefore a nice change of pace. It won't usually have the biggest Hollywood blockbuster on the week of its release, but it will rarely offer you something rubbish just to put bums on seats. Film times are emailed out to you each week. I hope it stays this way for many years to come! They deserve your support, even f you mix it with occasional evenings at the UGCs/Kineopolis of this world.

What a beautiful landscape to walk the grounds and simply admire the beauty with a coffee in hand…read more The gardens are so well kept and perfect to admire all the different vegetation they keep maintained. The various sculptures and fountains had me in awe. I noticed there was a strong affiliattion for koi fish at each one. After some sleuthing it was apparent that artists in Belgium also saw koi fish as a sign of good luck. We accessed Botanique by strolling the adjacent park close to our hotel and it made for a wonderful morning. There are plenty of benches and of course you can hang out on the steps of the Botanique. I felt like I was on an international episode of Gossip Girl tbh #IYKYK.

It's basically a big garden with a greenhouse and fountain at the end. It's a bit far from the city centre so if you're a tourist just looking for things to do, you can probably skip it. I have a feeling it's more for locals to get away from the noise of the city.
