What a beautiful landscape to walk the grounds and simply admire the beauty with a coffee in hand…read more The gardens are so well kept and perfect to admire all the different vegetation they keep maintained. The various sculptures and fountains had me in awe. I noticed there was a strong affiliattion for koi fish at each one. After some sleuthing it was apparent that artists in Belgium also saw koi fish as a sign of good luck. We accessed Botanique by strolling the adjacent park close to our hotel and it made for a wonderful morning. There are plenty of benches and of course you can hang out on the steps of the Botanique. I felt like I was on an international episode of Gossip Girl tbh #IYKYK.

It's basically a big garden with a greenhouse and fountain at the end. It's a bit far from the city centre so if you're a tourist just looking for things to do, you can probably skip it. I have a feeling it's more for locals to get away from the noise of the city.

Heard Miles horn breaking in and out of this place, looked in window to see instruments then folks siting in red cloaked chairs with matching walls and drapes. We were greeted with "yes we have live music tonight. You can catch the last set." A very cute staff member took our cover and seated us in the way back. Great perspective on the entire place and a decent view of the stage. On tonight, Kim Versteynen and her group Kim in the middle debuting their new release. Another cute waitress took our drink order and we settled in. Very classy upscale place. Any place supporting live jazz has a warm spot in my heart. Intimate, dimly lite with a huge bar opposite the stage. Kim a Belgium native shocked the both of us with her warm earthy soulful voice. We appreciated her entertaining us for an hour and a half with encore. Not sure what's coming next but considering this is literally a block from the square, I'll be back!

We even asked if we could pay additional to sit closer to stage at all these empty tables and they said No - they were reserved. Not sure how this is supposed to work but so far we're VERY disappointed in this venue. At least the beer is cheap but look at this view! At least musicians were good but people behind me talked the whole show. Not sure it's worth the hassle of bad seats. We'll pick elsewhere next time.

Visited this gallery for the Private Choices exhibition…read more First of all, Wonderful area. Ste Catherine is amazing and beautiful and cool. The museum itself is in a really cool industrial building and is really big. The fact that the museum is quite hidden makes that it was quite quiet, which is always a positive The exhibition was fantastic and beautiful, featuring loads of great contemporary artworks from Marcel Duchamp to Damian Hirst. On a negative side, the receptionist was really rude, I asked for the -18 fee (free) and she was really obnoxious insinuating I was lying... I proposed to show ID and she said no but kept insinuating I was lying. Like get a grip. Other than that I had a great experience and greatly recommend this gallery !
