Let me start by saying "You might win some but you've just lost one"! Let me also add that I only gave this store one star because I want my opinion to be heard and It may not if I left the stars category empty! I have lived in Douglasville for over 20 years. I raised my family here and I'm a home owner and legal resident. The lack of respect that I received from this store owner this evening was nothing less than a show of superior posturing. I walked into the store while completing a call. This guy never said hello the first nor the second time that I spoke to him. He then had the audacity to ask me if I was done with my call before he said anything. Again I spoke to this gentlemen twice before he acknowledged me. His statement was not hello sir, how may I assist you BUT are you talking to me... Now my younger self would've acted in a totally different manor. However, I was not phased by his lack of customer service nor professionalism. Once he got to the counter he proceeded to be confrontational. I am a person of grace and great patience and a grown a.. 52 year old man but this guy was really asking for me to come out of character. This was not my first time in this store, in fact, I have been there and had short conversations with this guy. I was a repeat customer! This was my last time stepping my feet into this establishment due to his charismatic attitude and blatant disrespect. This business is not where our citizens should spend their time nor monies! It looks like I'm not the only one that has had a HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE from this establishment! I ended up coming into the Cigar Depot every night after I found it. Met a lot of great people, shared stories, smoked cigars and, did I tell you it is BYOB? Bring in a couple of beers or a fine Scotch to wet the palate. J.D. directed me toward an excellent cigar which I burned to extinction (see my photo, that's J.D. In the back ground. I also ended up purchasing the Lampe Berger air purifying system. My wife absolutely loves it! I spent about four hours a night at the Cigar Depot and my clothes barely smelled of smoke! Howard was also very helpful and had great stories to tell. My only regret is I have to travel 1,000+ miles to see them. In my previous post I mentioned I travel all over the world in my job. I hit many cigar lounges until I find one that keeps me coming back. You are lucky to have such a fine establishment nearby. Definitely check them out. read more

My boyfriend and I went there a few weeks back, and I immediately got a hint of racism from a heavy-set white male whom I assume was the owner of the establishment. There was no greeting, just a look! I wanted to leave, but my friend quickly found what he wanted and we left! I would never step back into this establishment ever again. Yes, the owner is very racist and I guess he didn't think that I could afford what I was asking for. Very sarcastic and condescending. I happened to walk in and saw an acquaintance in the back. We started talking and after a few minutes I asked for what I wanted. The owner gave me this look as to why am I asking for this. I politely asked for 2 and a $20 torch. I guess he had to tell me how much the torch was as well. I thought my money was green like everyone else. After purchasing $40 worth of cigar I asked to use the restroom before getting back on the road and he said "I can't let you go back there and use the restroom" extremely rude! My boyfriend and I came in here to get a few cigars and relax and have a smoke. After buying 5 cigars, we started to walk to the back. But one the guys up front said they were about to close. This was at 5:00 pm on a Friday. So we left, but noticed the store hours on the door said they were open until 8:00 pm. We thought it was weird, but went down the road to another cigar shop called Cigar Box. I had a weird feeling, so I called this place back and asked what time they closed and the man answered 8:00 pm. I'm not sure why they didn't want us there, but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the color of my boyfriend's skin. This was my first experience with discrimination, and I guarantee we will never go back! So if your looking for a great place to smoke, this isn't it. Go to Cigar Box. I bumped into this shop quite accidentally and was glad to have found a cigar store on my side of town. Since I've moved to the Fairburn/Union City area, I've been making the trek to Cobb Pkwy to buy my sticks. Although the Cigar Depot didn't have my favorite quick smokes (Acid C-Notes) and he can't beat the price I can get them for online, he said he would order a box so the next time I was in a crunch and ran out, they'd be available in my neighborhood. Sweet! I also bought a couple of the Lampe Berger fragrance vessels and oil. His prices were competitive and he carried a large variety and stock. He walked me through the directions and set up and I'm quite happy with the purchase. I'm not really sure about the negative reviews. The gentlemen who helped me was personable, polite and attentive and I'll definitely be doing business there again and again. read more

I always come here to buy cigars for my husband's birthday or special occasions. The guys here are super helpful. It's a high end shop but you definitely get what you pay for. I have also purchased one of their oil lamps and I can't believe how well it works! read more

This one is just OK. The staff is not as friendly as they could be. I know some of the other reviews cited racial concerns but they were abrupt with me and I don't think it was racial (I'm white, he was white), they just aren't personable. If you just want cigars, they are not bad. If you want a friend to smoke them with, go somewhere else. read more

Second visit to this shop. Husband and brother visited 1st and felt they were being discriminated against. So this time around I went in with my husband. The owner did not interact with my husband at all. He did not make any suggestions after say he had never heard of the cigar we were looking for. I did however force him to talk about the weather. I can't complain about the quality of the stock, but the owner either needs to hire someone with customer service skills or take a class. He is moody and from time to time outright rude. As a Navy Vet, I have been to places around the world that protested my presence; but I would hope to feel welcomed in a place of business in the country I helped protect. I've gone into the shop twice and both times I felt as though I wasn't wanted in the shop (I'm a black man).
