My partner and I and stopped by this business on a whim while running errands on the west side. We'd visited Dad's Cigar/Tobacco Shop in Westpark the week before and he found some good imported cigarettes (not a cigar smoker) and wanted to see if Cigar Cigars had a similar selection. He entered the store ahead of me (I don't smoke anything, but find these places interesting--I study subcultures) and got a cool reception from a youngish white goatee man of large build. My partner, who fits this description, except that he is African American, was given a cool reception by this individual. When the person saw me (I am white) his demeanor went from bad to worse. He circled us, glared at my finacee and rudely answered his question about the cigarettes. It was clear that we were not welcome. We left without buying anything. We will not go back and we will tell everyone we know (1,000s of people--we are public individuals) about our experience. It's 2012, dude. No need for racism and sexism. He suggested something mild, which sounded good to me. In the past, I've smoked a cigar and felt like a walking chimney the next morning. I was nervous that this would be the case again, but it couldn't have been further from reality. I couldn't even tell that I'd had a cigar the day before, when it came to the next morning. I really came to appreciate Royal 10 even more, when a month later, I smoked a cigar because of a promotion, and didn't have the same good fortune. I wish I could tell you what kind of cigar it was, but since I have on idea, I'll just call it a championship cigar :)

For starters - their cigar selection was paltry; most of the boxes on the shelves were empty. The pricing on what they did have was good so I made due, but that was disappointing. Next, I think they have a sitting fee for visitors, but I came in ~1hr before closing and I wasn't charged. The place has two floors: first floor is the shop and the 2nd floor is the lounge. When I went upstairs, the place was empty (which is fine) but my issue was the cleanliness. The space was not well kept; all the chairs were worn, several areas had ash on the floor, and the bathroom was extremely untidy. I was there roughly 45 minutes and while someone came by to check on me... I think he was going to the bathroom (and figured he would kill two birds with one stone.) In closing, the sticks weren't expensive, and the upstairs is a decent size. If you're not particular, by all means stop in and give them a try. That said I can't recommend this location because I expect more service, a larger selection and a cleaner space.

For starters, the store has much more than just cigars and it is extremely clean. Seems seems to be a family operation which I love, as well. I was thoroughly impressed with the humidor selection and the prices were on par with the website that I typically order from. In addition to all of the traditional brands I enjoy, they also have their own house blend of cigars and the owner was nice enough to make sure that I went home with my fill!!
