The olives are amazing and the panettone for Christmas was delicious. To begin with, the service was very slow. From the beginning, even just getting wine and water seemed to take too long. Then we had to wait 30 minutes to order food and then another 30 minutes to receive our appetizers. By this time we had been at the restaurant for over an hour. The main course took about 30 minutes to arrive, as well, which would have been okay if we weren't already a bit annoyed with the slow service. I'm not sure if they were understaffed (it was fairly busy, especially for a Wednesday night) but the staff just seemed to disappear sometimes. The food itself was also subpar and a disappointment. Italian food is wonderful and full of great flavors - all the food we had was bland. We had fried calamari that was chewy and, although the calamari seemed fresh, the batter didn't taste of anything. It seemed like neither the calamari nor the batter had been seasoned. My partner's fish was okay but again, seemed under-seasoned, and my pasta was also just bland. Everything lacked any sort of distinction and, considering how good the items in the store are, this was a real disappointment. I think if we hadn't been there with a 50% promotion we would have been really upset. We were hoping to find a new neighborhood spot but this, sadly, won't be it.

(Yeah, I'm kind of weird that way - looking forward to be shopping at a greengrocer.) But seriously, I always find their fruit and vegetable selection to be impeccable - fresh, beautiful and bountiful! On top of that, they have a huge variety of resasonably priced organic products, such as all kinds of dried beans, pasta, cheeses, müslis, spreads, dried fruits etc etc etc. I mean, this store is jam-packed with healthy goodies and you cannot be leaving this store not feeling good about yourself! On top of that, and this is really where they've won me over, the folks working here are always super-friendly. Not the in-your-face, let me chat-you-up-kind-of-friendly, but a friendliness that is subtle, but extremely agreeable to me. In other words: need your five-a-day and wanna support the local business scene at the same time? Broadway Fuiterers are your mates!

The best fruit and veg shop in Crouch End. The staff is always helpful and smiley. The oranges and…read moretomatoes are real! Yay! They taste like fruit! I forgot what it is like after years buying fruit and vegs in Tescos or Lidl. They have always seasonal stuff and it is worth a visit: you will love their vegs. Also they have variety of olives, something I really miss from home! You can pay by card with a minimum of 10 pounds. I love this shop!

I opted for this stand in Camden Market for my first experience. They were offering free samples as I walked by, which I accepted already knowing that this was the destination I traveled to the market to try! The pasta is freshly made and cooked to order. It's really cool seeing it getting tossed in the wheel/rind. There were several amazing sounding topping options, but I opted for the classic style. The flavors were rich, the pasta texture was perfect, and everything tasted fantastic! Very happy with my choice!

I got the crispy pancetta and really liked it. There are additional toppings on the side you can add yourself, like grated cheese, chili oil, and minced garlic. These definitely add more flavor and I think it's worth adding one or more of them. I added cheese and garlic to mine. The pasta was very tasty and nicely sauced although it wasn't especially cheesy, at least to me. I think it just gets a mild cheese flavor from the cheese wheel but it's not going to be as cheesy as a mac and cheese, for example. It has a nice balance of flavor that lends itself to any of the topping options.

It's actually a wonderful Italian deli - just the sort of place you find in Cowley. They've got an exciting mix of different foods with suitably Italian-sounding names. It's absolutely brilliant if you want to try cooking your own Italian food at home, but using proper Italian ingredients, rather than Sainsburys' attempt. Even if the idea of cooking foreign food terrifies you, there's something for you, with a great range of prepared food and the staff's useful advice on how to serve it. I imagine it would go down very well at a dinner party. They do sausages, cured meats, dried pasta (loads of funky shapes and sizes!), cheese and desserts (mmm tiramisu). They take telephone orders and are really flexible and helpful with orders. Don't fancy taking stuff home? They serve food there as well! Pizza for £4-£7, pasta where you choose your sauce first and then the sort of pasta to go with it, and even main courses like lasagne and meat dishes. Main dishes come with an Italian version of chips - absolutely delicious, Spinache and Parmesan or Fagioli della Mamma: a tomato sauce with bacon, beans, onion and chilli. Pop in for a bit of Italian food love see you in there!
