For me, I have been an Avanti client for more than 2 years, off and on. My initial experience was to utilize the red-light therapy for my knee and joint pain. Not only was that experience amazing, but the results were much more than I could have imagined. I absolutely found significant relief with my knee pain, which led to increased mobility and flexibility, along with a huge bonus-- I lost over 30 lbs. of stubborn weight that had not moved in years over a period of about 5 months! Had it not been my own personal experience, no one could have convinced me that it was true. Unbelievable, but it happened! I went back after about 5 months for the same knee pain that gradually made its way back and lost another 16 lbs. in about 3 months, could have been less. Just wow! I have been meaning to leave a Yelp review since my first experience because I have nothing but praise for my experience with the facility, the owner Terri (who is absolutely amazing), Kenzie-who runs the place like the resident mother, and the highly trained and knowledgeable women who are there and at your service, every time and in all ways who make up the staff. I honestly find it extremely difficult to believe that anyone would have a less than fabulous experience at Avanti Body. This is what led me to leave a review now. I lived with excess weight and now, skin, most of my life. Even as a teen I was never able to just be myself because my brain was too busy telling myself I was too big to fit in. My mental journey is a whole other level but what I can say is that dr Thorburn removed a lot of baggage for me. I had a Fleu de lis abdominalplasty and an implant exchange. She removed about 10lbs of skin, tissue, and fluid. She was realistic about my results, and was incredibly supportive of my goals. "I just want to be able to function" I told her. I got soooo much more. She gave me the freedom to finally feel comfortable in my skin. The first week was a rollercoaster. She warned me about that and I thought, meh I'm pretty positive and don't really complain, I'm sure it'll be fine. My first week post op visit was rough.
