For east coast Salvadoran food, I'd say it's good. If I'm comparing it to other areas, it's just okay. Revuelta and loroco pupusas are good, but I'm used to them being more filled that they gush open when you slice it. It's good for the area, but I miss them from back home. I also wish their cabbage salad was spicier and had more of a kick. The spicy sauces weren't spicy to me. Quite shocked by that.

The jugo de maracuya en leche tasted so close to the one I had in Medellin. The chuzo was perfect, the arepa I wasn't a big fan of but that's more of how I have a personal preference for a crisper arepa. There's options for pork or chicken chuzos, I tried both and the pork definitely won. I will say we got very lucky because we got here early so there wasn't anyone eating at the bar area, so the 4 of us managed to get seats. There is also another standing area but it's not very big. I wouldn't expect to always get lucky with getting seats so be prepared to stand and eat, it's worth it though! This place is also CASH ONLY, there is a Citi Bank nearby if you need cash. There is NO indoor seating. Prices were pretty good for everything.

The Pepito Mix sandwich loaded with beef and chicken was basically a heavyweight champion between two pieces of bread. That's not a snack... that's a strategy for survival. Washed it down with fresh passion fruit juice and a cold Maltín Polar like a true gentleman of culture. Shoutout to my waitress Paola, who patiently guided me through the menu while I pointed at everything like a kid in a candy store. The place is small, cozy, full of Venezuelan music, and the staff are incredibly kind. Moral of the story: Came for empanadas... stayed for the Venezuelan flavor knockout. I'll definitely be back. There was a time it wasn't alone in the Ecuadorian street food game, but somehow the rest of those carts have disappeared and Sabor Ecuatoriano has managed to remain. As a result, it is the only Ecuadorian street food option in western Queens outside of Jackson Heights. (#1) It seems crazy to think that I've enjoyed more of the food here than I have at the JH street carts. Their llapingachos (potato cakes?) are addicting and the hornado (roast pig) is usually the first thing that is gone from the cart. The sweet woman who runs the cart will often break off a piece of that crispy skin for every platter on top of some mote (hominy) rice, and veggies. I've managed to score a humita (choclo tamale?) every so often and love it as the perfect appetizer / snack. On even more rare occasions they have bolón de verde, which is like a mofongo-type ball that is very tasty. I haven't indulged much on the stew side, but I am pretty sure I've spotted seco (meat stew) and encebollado (fish stew). If I'm not mistaken they're still around from Thursday-Saturday. I wish they'd be present every day, but at least this gives us fans something to look forward to. The cart only accepts cash and most platters run one about $10. Throw in a coconut drink (agua de coco) and it'll be a wonderful meal. ______________ (#1) I've never wanted to be more wrong.

Having never tried tamales before, I was pretty eager (thanks to her positive comments). We sampled both the adobo ($2) and birria ($2.5) tamales, and they were absolutely amazing. Personally, I found the adobo tamale to be slightly better in terms of flavor but both were equally well made with its rich, flavorful seasoning. My sister, who has tried tamales before, mentioned that these were even better than the ones she got from the random tamale table (near Woodside), thanks to the diverse flavor options available and how fresh they came out. The customer service here was exceptional. A friendly lady approached us, handed us menus, and took our order with a warm smile. Even though tipping isn't required, their service went above and beyond, making us feel genuinely welcome. We also couldn't resist trying the birria taco ($4), which arrived piping HOT. It was generously stuffed with birria, making it a hearty and satisfying choice. While it was a tad salty for my taste, my sisters thoroughly enjoyed it and had no complaints. Our total order came out to a little less than $10 for three people, which was perfect for a light snack before heading home for our protein dinner (get that protein intake in! EEEEEEEEEE)
