I've been coming to La Carniceria for a few months now and these are some of the best meats I've…read moreever tasted. I love coming on Taco Tuesday's as they have their taco meats for $1.00 off. I always get Al Pastor and Pollo Preparada. I have tried the carne Picada a few times but find it to be tough to eat with extra fat, which isn't found in their other taco meats. They have other specials on their meats M-Th and it's different each day. My favorite has to be the Prime Rib Eye steak. The most flavorful and buttery steak ever, and ranges about $20 per steak, depending on thickness. I have also tried their Asada (which is good) and Tesajo. The first few times I tried their Tesajo it was tender and delicious. The last few times it has been tough and hard to chew. I'm not sure what has changed with this meat. They also have a small selection of cheeses, salsas, tortillas and larger selection of spices/rubs. I recently bought two Reserva Premium blends and I'm enjoying them. My favorite salsa is their Verde and they have minimal ingredients added with great flavor, which is excellent! Customer service varies. Not sure if Annabelle still works here but she was always so friendly and helpful. The butchers are always very helpful, but many times the ladies checking you out won't even look at you and aren't very inviting. I'm still getting good products so it's just something worth mentioning. Lastly, if you go on any holiday you can expect a line out the door. My recommendation is go the day before, if possible, or you can even call in your order. Enjoy!

I thought she was going to put another spoonful after the layer of cheese but she didn't and rolled it up. I gotta say this was the saddest bean and cheese I have ever ate, I had to tear off so much excess tortilla it was ridiculous. I only ate half I was so disappointed. I had a wonderful phone conversation with the owner Ben who personally took my order. We agreed upon a date and time two weeks out since I was going to be out of town for the 4th of July week. They called while I was out of town to confirm the date and time (between 10-11 am) which was great! When I arrived to the store with my son around 11:15 because of the heavy traffic on 91W I went to the counter and was told by a young female that I needed to go to the pay counter. She was curt and not helpful. There was only three people ahead of me so no problem. But the elder gentleman in front of me, who was being helped by the young man who would eventually help me, took an exceptionally long time with his order. I'm just here to pay and pick up. No problem, I'll be patient and keep waiting. Two other costumers are helped by the female counter person and finally the elder customer leaves with his order and I'm next. The young male counter person then waits for me to initiate the conversation and doesn't greet me with a smile or hello or how can I help. I brush it off. I tell him I'm here to pick up my order, a whole pig and give him my last name. He fumbles around a few seconds and then asks how to spell my name and eventually finds my ticket order and asks what time. The time is written at the top of the ticket he failed to notice. I pay for the order. He mutters someone will be out with my order and disappears. No thank you, no attentiveness like he gave the older gentleman in front of me. Again, I've been in my car with my son for over two hours from San Diego in traffic and this fella couldn't give me five minutes of courtesy. I'm waiting, and waiting and waiting while others eventually come into the store and are being helped and leaving. The older female worker at the pay counter is still there helping customers while the younger female at the deli counter is now apparently on a break and making herself lunch. She stops momentarily when a customer comes in for deli service. I'm still waiting by the counter to make sure I'm at least acknowledged but I don't see the young male counter worker who apparently left for lunch since it's now noon. The older female worker can probably see on my face that I'm not happy and says to me he's working on my order. He? Who's he? I am just here to pay and pick order between 10-11. How much time and trouble could it be to put this order together which was made two weeks prior? A different gentlemen finally arrives with three boxes and two large paper bags that comprise my order. On the way out the older female worker says goodbye and was very courteous. At this point I'm pretty upset because this is not a large haul and this order could've easily been second and not 45 minutes! I arrive home after the two hour drive back home to SD and looking forward to the meat, especially the sausages and putting it into the freezer which I cleared out in preparation for the meat. My older son is home to help. As we are sorting and placing the meat I notice that there are no sausages. It's just sausage meat but no links. I guess it's my fault for assuming and not specifying sausage links on at peat some of the order. It was a huge letdown. I had array went out to purchase rolls and buns for a bbq this weekend and to have friends and family over. Oh well. You live and you learn. At least the bacon was great.

You can tell they genuinely care about what they're providing. The beef is outstanding--hands down the best we've ever had. Their chicken is just as impressive, and even the hot dogs are fantastic. Honestly, we've tried just about everything they offer, and there hasn't been a single disappointment.
