Oh no!!!!!! Went there today and it was going okay until my friends husband found a hair in his food! My husband and I both have extremely weak stomachs! So as soon as he pointed it out we automatically pushed our plates away. We both more than half left. When the waitress came by we told her and she said she would take off his meal. Now I'm not one to try to get meals comped but for the amount of food we had left I believe it should have been taken off. All except for the freaking drinks. Worst. Chuy's. Ever. I normally love this place and their creamy jalapeno dip can solve world problems, but this particular location I would avoid in the future. Visited on a Saturday at 3:30pm after having too long of a wait at Pappasitos. We were seated within 5-8 minutes but service was slow and the food sub-par at best. There was mushed rice all over the seat of the booth we were sat in and rice, beans and used napkins on the floor all around our area. Our server was nice but not efficient, never brought the to-go cup we requested, had to be asked twice for the to-go box for leftovers and overall just wasn't very attentive. An employee that had just gotten off his shift was at the table next to us with a lady friend and our server seemed to be much more interested in what they were doing/talking about than us. It took foreeeeeever to get our entrees which consisted of two bowls of tortilla soup and a plate of nachos, so you would think it would be quick since the soup is already prepared. We were seated really fast even though it was really busy. All the waiters and waitresses work really fast. Especially clearing and cleaning the tables to get other customers seated. Caroline was our waitress, she was great! Kept us refilled on our margaritas, chips and salsa. I unfortunately have to leave a bad review for the service we had here on our last visit. We came in on a Monday night around 8 and it wasn't that crowded. We were seated immediately but no one brought us chips or came to take our drink order for sometime. Finally a manager saw us waiting and took our order. When the waitress finally arrived we asked for some jalapeño ranch dip to go with the chips (shouldn't that stuff always be brought out with the chips? I mean why else go to Chuy's?) Regardless, we waited and waited and actually finished our basket of chips before she came back and asked if we needed anything. Again, we asked for the dip and she apologized for forgetting and ran off to get it. After our meal was brought out, she came by, asked how everything was then left the check. We usually don't get this until we're all done, let alone before we even start eating. What if we wanted more drinks or desert? We felt very rushed and ignored. The food is always good. We've been there twice and it's been good both times. It seems rather expensive for mexican food: $3.79 for a side of guacamole. Bill came to $29 without tip for two people with no alcohol. Try Los Vega in Humble, TX instead where we both ate at lunch for $22 including tip with no alcohol. I will start by saying we (our large group) went past many many restaurants to get to this location because we thought we knew what we would get. Saturday night 8:30, we expected a long wait. Happy surprise just 30 minutes, yay! That was the end of the happy surprises for half our group. There were 2 servers and the one I had was the worst. This person started with a look of panic and never got her self under control. She was so freaked out she didn't listen, didn't get orders right several times, she didn't get tickets right ever, she didn't even end up bringing any plate out at all. She didn't refill drinks w/o repeated requests. We never got more ranch or salsa, I never got water at all. I mean it was a bad bad bad experience. The other server sharing the group was calm and controlled and had it all together. The folks with him were very happy and left more then 30 minutes before we did. The food was way too spicy as well. I'm from Austin - I've eaten at Chuy's all my life and I know how it tastes (here anyway). My teens burrito was inedible. But by then the chaos was too much to risk sending it back. It will just make me never go back to the Humble location and think twice before I try any other location. The manager came out (finally) at the end and tried to straighten this mess up and we got the checks right so they were happy but the guests, not so much. Drinks are over priced like everywhere else, but the portions of most dishes allow splitting or another meal later on. Food was mediocre at best, but the service was terrible. I ordered a burrito with jalapeno sauce, then a few minutes later asked if I could switch to queso. They said no, since they've already put in the order, but they could give me queso on the side. I said fine. So they brought out the burrito (with no sauce, so they obviously had time to change that) and queso on the side. Which was fine, I thought, until I got the bill and found they charged me 4 BUCKS for the dumb little cup of queso that was free at the bar. They never said anything about an additional charge. Excellent Tex Mex food. I may be addicted to their chips, salsa, and green sauce. An amazing place for vegetarians--- they have the veggie options listed specifically on their menu. I have been to Chuy's many times and I decided one day that I wanted to enjoy their amazing creamy pepper sauce. While I knew that it was a Saturday, I was ready to wait for a table as long as I got their amazing food. When we got sat, it took us 10 minutes to realize that we haven't gotten asked what we wanted to drink. A person in our group went to ask what was going on when the manager by the name of Kalvin asked if there was a problem. She told him that we haven't seen our waiter yet and it has been ten minutes since we got sat down. He was apologetic towards us and got us a different waiter that would be our server. He later brought us a complementary nacho cheese and apologized again for the wait. After that, the new waitress was awesome. She got our food out fast and brought us many cups of the pepper sauce so we all had our own to devour. Kalvin came by many times to make sure that everything was okay and I thank you for that sir. As someone who has been here many times I thought they handled the situation very well and will not have this issue hinder my view on Chuy's. I was traveling on business and just having a quick bite by myself so decided to grab a seat at the bar. My bartender was Cici and she was great! She knew the entire menu and certainly steered me in the right direction. I was in the mood for something fairly light and healthy so she steered me to the shrimp tacos but grilled, not fried as they typically serve them.
