If you ask me on any given evening, what I would like to eat there and then, I would very rarely…read more(if ever) say Peruvian food. It's just not the sort of thing that we eat is it (unless you are in Peru)? Well, Mayta in LKF is fast changing my mind about that. It opened up in what use to be the BBQ pork restaurant, which irked me as I love BBQ pork. However, Mayta is actually a very welcome replacement. Let's start at the top; the first thing you will want to do is get a round os Pisco Sours in. They have a great variety of flavours and mixes of this traditional alcoholic beverage, and they make them well. Just the right amount of sour, just the right amount of kick. Forget the wine and beer, just stick to these bad boys all night. Now, the food. If you are not familiar with Peruvian food, Google it. However, my recommendations are as follows... Start with the cerviches, this is essentially Peruvian sushi, with big chunks of raw salmon, tuna and/or mackerel, steeped in lime and indigenous spices. These are great for sharing, so get the "platter" and sample all of them. I always follow this with the suckling pork "stew", sooooo good! The restaurant is large and spacious, so you don't feel to hemmed in, but the decor and ambience make for a nice intimate setting. The staff are great, super friendly and really efficient. The manager is particularly nice, and always greets with a smile and few pleasantries. Book if you are coming at the weekend or on Super Monday, as it can get busy. During mid week, it is often completely dead, so you will have more luck with a walk-in then.

I only discovered Mayta this year but I'm already a fan. For those wanting to visit Mayta this July, heads up; Peru's National Day is on the 28th. Mayta's interior has a very homey feel; wooden furnishings with intricate designs and dark wood maroon tables and chairs while the house music pumps out funky Latin American jams. One thing I noticed off the bat is the dedicated ceviche station, for those who can't get enough of it. Piscos (pomade brandy) are also a big hit here and undoubtedly serves an extensive menu of pisco. The a la carte menu is divided into Peruvian tapas, skewers, ceviche, wok and salads, specials and desserts. Because ceviche is a specialty here, we decided to order the clasico, made with sea bass and marinated in leche de tigre (which translates to tiger's milk - didn't need a dictionary for that one). It tasted sweet and salty at the same time - a fantastic combination. For the tapas, we chose the pan con chicharron which tasted like a steamed pandesal but with crunchy pork belly and a spicy and garlicky aoili sauce. I'm not saying it wasn't good but it didn't taste that great either. Dessert fared better due to the suspiro de limena, a sumptuous offering of dulce de leche at the bottom, a creamy meringue with port wine at the top, and the surprisingly good taste of olive oil ice cream. Some of the staff were Latin American, which was a pleasant surprise, and I could bust out the little Spanish I knew. They were truly friendly and obviously knowledgeable about the different dishes. My dining experience in Mayta wasn't what I expected but it certainly wasn't bad to deter another visit. Should I look for Peruvian food next time, I know where to go.

Restaurant is on the…read moreground floor of an office building and when opening the door, a dark and sexy lounge bids you to come in. We didn't have reservations but managed to snag seating near the bar with a view of the front dining room. For drinks I asked our server what a popular drink was and he said the Smoking Gun which was their version of a Negroni (Lapsang infused Bulldog gin, campari, chocolate bitters). I ordered the Tokyo Affair (prosecco, acai liqueur, lychee juice, cherry blossom). The Smoking Gun came in a dramatic Japanese wooden chest and when you opened it up, it literally had smoke coming out of it. My friend liked his drink and I liked my "girlie" Tokyo Affair - sweet and bubbly. We ordered: Lomo Saltado "El Taco" (Stir fry beef & veggies with coriander chimichurri and crispy gyoza paste): This was a very small taco but very tasty. The thin beef strips were seasoned well. Ki-mo-chi Chicken: Karage style chicken thighs were slightly spicy and perfectly fried. It came with a dipping mayo that was delicious. Spicy Hamachi Roll (yellowtail with kiuri garnished with fried shiso and chives): This came with a spicy mint chimichurri sauce. Yellowtail tasted fresh and the shiso added a crunchy texture to the roll. LL Loin (Grilled lamb loin with apple puree, mint salad and pickled onion): Lamb was super tender and very good. Service was attentive in the beginning but it took a while to find our server as the night wore on. Not surprising since the restaurant got really crowded. The manager was a good looking Italian guy who knew what he was doing and at some point it was someone's birthday and he came out wearing a unicorn head (which frankly would have freaked me out but as an observer was kinda neat). I think that this is a great place to meet people and catch up over some great food.

I came to TokyoLima for brunch. The meal started off great but progressively went downhill. If I…read morecame here with friends for a drink and ordered some appetizers I would have given this place a higher rating. The appetizers were awesome and hands down the best part of the meal. The fried chicken was really awesome. Sweet, crispy with a little bit of spice. Dipping sauce was not needed as the chicken was really tasty. The fried peppers were also really good. The ceviche was pretty bland. For a Peruvian and Japanese place this is what I expect to be good. This can't compare to a half decent place in Tokyo or Lima. Quite disappointing. The mains were ok. Not bad but not really good either. The miso cod is what you would expect and executed properly. The chicken skewers were dry and does not bring memories of a yakatori restaurant. If I didn't eat the dessert I would have given four stars. The food is three star level but the environment and atmosphere is cool and would bring it up to four stars. Unfortunately I did have the dessert. The cake was one of the worst desserts I have had in a restaurant. If I went to 7 eleven and bought a mass produced prepackaged cake It would be debatable which one would be better.

You can't go wrong w any of it really. You will be able to sense that the kitchen takes pride in everything that gets delivered to your table. Each dish is highly detail oriented w fresh ingredients and culinary creativity. It's rather dim and the pictures didn't come out too well. The food? Amazing... But the cocktails... Well crafted and have incredible balance. Mixology is at its finest here at Me. Bartenders here are charming characters, fun loving, and well trained. Maybe it was also because we had the ladies w us... But the well trained part is nothing but the truth. Coming from San Francisco where mixology is at the top of its game compared to the world, I'm a tough one to impress. Let me tell you... I might have to painstakingly abandon my loyalty to my hometown n place it here. Their bartenders put on a good show... And ladies... You won't be disappointed. I've been taking friends here and highly recommending to all my friends visiting Hong Kong. Decor has a clean contemporary look as well as an F1 on display. Yes F1. Me is nothing short of great ambiance n good looking patrons. Bring a date here n the chances of you going home together will be dramatically increased. I promise.

What can I say? It was not bad but may not worth this price. If you prefer nice environment and like to try innovative looking food this may worth a try. However the vibe is so so as looked like that they have a restaurant set up for bar food n drink which might cause a mismatch in my expectation. This might be good for business talk over beer though as its quite quiet here
