My family has been longtime fans of AFPC, and have received great care for our pup (Kai) and cat (Hoku). The pet sitters are always kind, consistent, and reliable. It's so nice never having to worry while we're away. We even had a minor emergency one year when our freezer defrosted and made a mess. They went above and beyond and cleaned it up! We could not be happier with the services they provide!

If I had dreamt up my ideal dog walker, Jen from Pet Quirk would still surpass that vision. I…read morecouldn't ask for a better substitute mom for my two babies, Brewer and Finley! Brew is an "attention-starved" Airedale Terrier mix and Finn is a 13 lb spaniel fluffball who is incredibly timid around most people. I knew after we moved here from California, finding the right dog walker to look after them while my husband and I were at work for 12 hours a day would be challenging. In fact, I interviewed several dog walkers but Finley was afraid of all of them! When Jen came in for her home visit and Finn immediately came up and kissed her, I knew I had found someone really special. Over a year later (this review is long overdue), Jen has showed up on time every single day, rain or shine, and my puppies love her! I sometimes work from home and have witnessed how they greet her at the door with toys in their mouth to show her, or how she plays, pets, and teaches them new tricks, and I'm touched by her obvious love for my dogs. She has given us tips for how to help Finley gain confidence and has worked with both of our dogs on leash manners. Seriously, Jen is the absolute best. She leaves notes about her walks including whether they went potty -- I love coming home and laughing at her notes with funny anecdotes about the dogs! She's flexible to work with, has very competitive rates (I did a lot of research!), and has no nonsense about not taking the dogs for a walk during inclement weather (which I also came across). In her free time she also leads animal fundraisers for charity...we've been to one 2 years in a row now and it was great! Jen is a true animal lover and an amazing person. You should hire her ASAP!

A colleague recommended Jen's services, and I am thrilled that we were able to connect. Jen and I set up a time for her to come to our home and meet our pup. She asked a series of questions ranging from our puppy's personality, our training intentions, and medical records. We were able to set up a daily walking schedule - rain or shine. Jen leaves daily reports after the walk. Information might include where they walked, who they saw, unusual behavior, good behavior, encounters with other dogs, and "businesses" done. Because we have a puppy, Jen provided tips for training as well. Our puppy is very strong and stubborn, so this was extremely helpful! Jen is reliable and proactive. She had a vacation planned and arranged for a quality substitute walker. Like most of us right now during the COVID 19 stay at home orders, we are working from home. Clementine noticeably missed Jen! We look forward to hiring her back when we head back to work!

Signing up was easy and we took advantage of their buy one day get two free deal when we did! Only small downside when signing up is the $15 evaluation fee since other places don't charge for one but it wasn't that big of a deal given the deal we got. The staff members are very helpful and friendly when dropping off and picking up our pup. They know her by name! (Probably because she's one of the dogs that run around and get into trouble all the time ). Downloading their app and setting up your dog's daycare appointment on it is very intuitive (or you can just call in especially if you have special requests). The webcam access that they provide on their app and website is very nice since we can check up on our pup throughout the day until we pick her up! There are three different rooms they provide for your dog depending on their size and/or temperament. Currently, Luna goes to the toy box with all the younger pups and small dogs but she's been in the lounge with her bigger sister before and has done fine! She plays with a lot of the other dogs and there are staff members in each room supervising the dogs as well as sanitizing after any accidents. She does get in trouble every so often for playing too rough and would have to be but in a crate for timeout which is good since she is still learning how to be more gentle. I also enjoy the different events they have for the dogs during holidays, special occasions and just because! Luna had her first pool experience there! We have also did the in house puppy social and dog training class with Dara from The Enlightened Dog which was a learning and an enjoyable experience. Also the price was very reasonable! I would definitely recommend Dogtopia to anyone around the area especially if your dog is fine with being in a crate during timeouts, nap/lunch time!
