The process to get booked was very easy and I was able to get in within a couple of days for what I needed. Once there I felt so at ease in her lovely space and with her in general. She was very thoughtful about my needs as far as pressure, oils, etc. throughout and I left truly feeling fantastic. Over the years, I have had three different series of physical therapy on my neck; each produced only temporary relief. The massages by Jennifer have greatly reduced the pressure pain from knotted and tight muscles in the neck and shoulder area. Since this condition has also affected my back and nerves to my arms, her total body massage has relaxed tightness to my back and episodes of numbness to my hands too. Jennifer is knowledgeable about anatomical alignment and correct amount of pressure to apply to affected areas. I highly recommend Jennifer Gilbert for Clinical Massage Therapy. Wow - just wow! I can't say enough amazing things about Carol and her massages. I found out about…read moreHands on Massage & Bodywork from an Empowered Pregnancy series run through Advocate Sherman Hospital. Carol came and talked about all the benefits of massage - things I never knew about! I was definitely a person who has never been interested in massage therapy and knew nothing about it. She blew me away with her knowledge! Through my pregnancy when I started getting towards the end I learned that through all of my lifting and workouts I had made my body really tight and not necessarily prepared for childbirth. I quickly booked a massage at a local, corporate massage place and instantly regretted it. The person had no idea how to massage a pregnant person and was basically doing a typical massage on a pregnancy table. That's when I contacted Carol and set up an appt with her. From the moment I walked in I could tell this experience would be different. She has such a calm demeanor and instantly put me at ease. Her room is calming and smells wonderful! She knew all about different oils to use, pressure points and different massage techniques to do at different stages of pregnancy. I had done a lot of research on these things and she was talking about all of it before I mentioned a thing! She is very cutting-edge in her training, but that is backed with years of experience. I have never felt so confident in someone's expertise and ability in a long time. The massage itself was so relaxing and everything I needed at the time. I saw her a handful of times leading up to my pregnancy and she was awesome about fitting me in when I had time to come see her. It was honestly the best part of the last weeks of my pregnancy and I wish I had gone to her sooner. My body felt great, I felt more relaxed, my mental state was better, and it was just some great "me" time before the baby came. She would even talk to me about massages to do and pressure points to engage to help with some of the problems I was having. Even though she was further away from where I live, it was so worth the drive out there and I recommend her to everyone! You won't find a better place to get a massage.
