Lovely yoga studio nicely tucked away just off 143rd street in Orland Park. Ample street parking…read more The studio is in a historic old Orland building that used to be a general store. I believe there are a couple other businesses that compliment yoga use the space - think massage, reiki, etc. Props like blocks and blankets are available for use during classes. Class types vary by day and instructor. Register online for classes, various reasonably priced packages available.

The studio has a vibe of history, culture, and love- as it happens to be in a historical/vintage style space. The classes are held at very convenient times, with a great selection of yoga styles offered. The classes are affordable, I choose to purchase bundle packages to save even more money- and it's absolutely worth it, as your inner peace is priceless. I've been attending Candlelight Yin, and Restorative Yin. I have also attended a glorious sound bath, super cool and had no idea how soothing it would be! Since attending in January 2024 I have found the best relief from years of built up tension, chronic pain, depression and anxiety. I wasn't doing well. I tried therapy but it just wasn't what I needed to fully heal. It healed my superficial mind, but my subconscious mind and My BODY was still craving relief. Yoga was what I needed. There was so much internal tension, everything was unbalanced. Now I am calm, have a sense of purpose, im grateful, feel in line with myself. It's been a tremendous benefit to me.

If you are not standing right next to them the worker will harass them until you come over to prove you are there. Forget about working out while they play in the gyms or field. Non-residents can also become members at a slightly higher rate. The Orland Park Sportsplex doesn't have a pool (Lifetime does) but it does have an enclosed soccer field (Lifetime does not) for the many youth teams in the area. The Sportsplex also has three, side-by-side, full-sized basketball courts. Upstairs a nice amount of free weights are available, as are numerous cross-trainers and tread mills. There are certified trainers available for hire - to set up lessons and the like...and there are group sessions organized for many activities such as pilates and yoga. The center has a full set of locker rooms and showers for the members. Suspended around the basketball courts is a one-tenth of a mile walk/jog track. This track is available to Orland Park residents for free...just show an ID on the way in. So while it is primarily a membership activity center, residents have access to the track without membership. All-in-all the Sportsplex is a nice family center for the village.

I've done yoga at a bunch of places--including yoga studios, east bank club and other health clubs--but have never enjoyed it as much as I do here. They have 2 weekly classes each of which is 2 hours long, which initially I found intimidating, but I actually like it now and people come and go at various times anyway. It is one large class--like 50-60 people and I enjoy that there is a variety of levels and races, and ages participating. There is usually a lecture of some sort during class while posing, and there is an authenticity to these classes that I've found lacking at other places, which feel more like places that have jumped on the yoga bandwagon. I leave here with a peacefulness which I've never experienced before from a class. I actually debated not reviewing this place because I like it so much and didn't want the whole world to head over there--but in the name of greater good for mankind, am posting! Two things I would point out, you need to bring your own mat and it should be a thick one.
