Shawn took a look around, listened to what I had in mind, and thankfully told me what would or wouldn't work. He picked a beautiful quartz counter top, gave me options to choose from for the paint, faucet and hardware. He has a great team working for him. They were respectful and trustworthy. The refinished cabinets look like new. They do high quality work. He made his best effort to get things done within the time frame discussed but, as with any renovation, there were some unexpected issues that led to minor delays and affected cost. I really appreciated how his main concern was that I was happy with the end result. Before and in process photos attached (forgot to take a picture of the final product and don't want to clean the kitchen right now).

We've now been in our finished kitchen and house for a few months and love it more every day. We still can't believe the transformation and beyond the beautiful upgrade across the board, his design and recommendations made it SO much more functional. From the design process to communication and his project manager/workers, everyone was a true professional. No kitchen horror stories and they finished exactly on time. There of course are small things that came up in communication between what we decided with Shawn (keeping our dishwasher) and what the workers on site knew about (tried to give it away 2x), but that is common in any project, and most important to us is every small thing we noticed/flagged was fixed without question. We've already referred Shawn to anyone who asks. He took our space from a very dated 1960s vibe to modern but with character, and a design that matches our ranch style home. Thank you Shawn for making our house feel like us!

Disappointing experience…read more Not a good experience Purchased an expensive wool and viscose area rug that was recommended by one of their designers. They neglected to inform me the material the rug is made of cannot be professionally cleaned. If it is cleaned it will never look as good as it did when it was new, and the overall quality will deteriorate much faster compared to a wool or synthetic rug. Evidently the viscose shrinks and the rug can shrivel. I found this out today when I scheduled professional carpet cleaners to come out to clean it. They refused to clean the rug. I have pets and the designer knew this. If I had known this I would have NEVER purchased the rug. I have also experienced issues with communication. I purchased a painting that ended up not working for me and asked if they had recommendations on where I could resell it. I never got a reply.

I'd been putting off these purchases for about two years, because the thought of figuring out West Elm, Crate and Barrel, vs. online-only retailers was so daunting, and I wasn't looking forward to spend money on stuff that could be a total dud. Pros: -- Saves a TON of time. I had already spent hours on websites with no idea what I really wanted. I took a few ideas from Instagram, pics of our actual spaces to Shannon, and in a few days, she narrowed it down to 2-3 amazing options that totally fit our requirements and budget. (She was VERY respectful about budget- she was frank about what spending less or more money would get us, and was honest about what budget was realistic or not, and for stuff that was over budget, provided great cheaper options) -- **If you can afford West Elm et al, you can afford Countrywood** and get even more bang for your buck in terms of quality. I'm sitting on COMFY GORGEOUS DOWN-FILLED COUCH CUSHIONS as I write this for the same price as a sofa with a thin piece of latex cushion from Article. -- Great, expert advice so you get colors, materials and construction that actually makes sense for your life, not just whatever is cool on Instagram Cons: This is actually more of an FYI. They work with a lot wholesale-only furniture brands that only sell through decorators/retail, and anything custom will take a few months(!!!) especially because of COVID. Shannon does know which options are easier/faster to get, but if you really fall in love with a certain piece, be prepared to wait. But honestly, I've read online reviews of people ordering West Elm for a chair, and it taking MONTHS with NO actual updates. In my case, I emailed Shannon, she calls the factory, and I got shipping updates by the next business day.

She was an absolute joy to work with for my SF bathroom remodel in 2022 and I want to highlight why: - Shelly is highly collaborative and her work ethic is unmatched. I've never worked with someone so dedicated to the success of their client. She spent 2.5 hours on the phone with me going over my initial ideas, inspiration photos and design in great detail. She was constantly sending me pictures to demonstrate new ideas she had, new design possibilities and more. - She also isn't afraid to push back on your ideas! For example, I had a type of custom sink I wanted to install and Shelly very nicely explained to me how doing so would be a bad idea - I am so glad she did!!! I looove what she came up with instead! - She really gets to know her clients on a deep level, which is why she's so talented at designing spaces that really, really reflect the client. My bathroom is 100% ME but also 100% BETTER than it would have been if I had not worked with her as my designer! I get compliments on it constantly. - Shelly is tireless in her efforts! We had to modify the shower door design and also find a way to recess a mirror into a wall. She worked nonstop to find out how we could do so in a way that would adhere to strict SF city remodeling rules/laws. - Shelly is highly connected and knows all the best vendors for tile, bathroom equipment, handles - all of it. AND she is great at securing discounts!!!!!!!! AND she shops with you for everything - none of my friends' designers did this for them! She's truly an all star. - Shelly is great at really envisioning the potential of a space. My (honestly hideous) bathroom was COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED, and I'm so grateful! Shelly is just incredible. We have a living room with the 20 foot ceiling that opens up to a loft on the 2nd floor. The issue over the years was entertaining as the noise between the loft and living room was fighting each other. In our mind we needed an interior designer and a project manager as our initial thoughts was to build up a wall to separate the two areas, but the intent of the open space in the original design was to allow flow between the two rooms. So we had the idea to build up the wall to separate the space and add a shutter system to allow the space to open for the original intent. In working with Judy she assumed the role of interior designer and project manager as we expected to have a contractor involved in build up the wall to separate the space. We wanted an interior designer to also be involve in how the wall was to be designed as we had dual purpose for this, separate the rooms for noise but yet allow access if needed or required. She takes the time to understand tastes of me and my wife individually. She also provides CAD (computer animated design) previews of her ideas. As the project expanded she accommodated our changes as we included a home theater expansion in our plans. We asked that our living room not look like a home media center and she came up with extremely tasteful ideas that worked for us. We love the space that she has created and it's been a blessing. As a project manager she took away the stress of dealing with the contractors and as an interior designer worked with us to achieve a look and feel that worked both with me and my wife. Will use her again in a New York minute.

I was moving into a new home and starting fresh, and they struck the perfect balance between really listening to what I wanted and gently stretching my thinking in ways that made the final result so much better than I could have imagined. Beyond their talent, Diane and Lara are simply lovely humans. I genuinely looked forward to our conversations, and I always felt supported, never pressured. From the very beginning, they took the time to truly get to know us and our kids - not just our aesthetic preferences, but how we live in our home day to day. That thoughtfulness showed up in every design and functionality decision they helped us make. They were incredibly collaborative and brought us along at every step, making the process feel like a true partnership. They never once pushed an idea or decision on us, but they were also amazing at helping us thoughtfully stretch beyond our comfort zone in ways that ultimately made the home better than we ever imagined. Dee and Lara were responsive, kind, warm, and completely transparent throughout the entire process. We always understood the "why" behind decisions and felt informed and confident every step of the way. They were also exceptionally respectful of our budget. We never felt pressured to overspend, and instead felt like they maximized every single dollar while still delivering a truly elevated result. Their broader team (both internal and external partners) was equally impressive, with a clear commitment to quality and a very high bar for execution. Most importantly, we absolutely love our home. We're grateful for the experience, thrilled with the outcome, and fully expect to work with Dee and Lara for years to come. We would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for designers who are best-in-class, thoughtful, and genuinely wonderful to work with.
