I hired Gamut Group LLC, a former employee and affiliate of this company, to find a tenant for me…read moreduring the pandemic as my prior tenant was moving out. They were compensated a broker's fee of one month's rent and showed the property when my tenant was away on vacation. The owner, Leah P, left all lights on, all doors open, including the back door wide open and the heat on. They were the one who had access to the unit during that time frame but tried to blame it my tenant who was out of the country. My tenant was extremely upset upon returning from vacation. She offered to help get my home ready prior to the next tenant. I was billed $600+ for the cleaning fee, painting (no invoice provided) & another repair of $250 (which was never performed). The total I was charged was the exact amount of my moving out tenant's security deposit. When the new tenant moved in the unit was filthy despite being charged with an exorbitant cleaning fee even after accounting for today's inflation. My new tenant was irate and the Leah was conveniently missing in action. When I confronted them, they gaslight me, throwing it back on me, when I was not even present during the aforementioned incidents as I was out of state at the time. After numerous conversations with tenant, they procured we both concluded we had been deceived and maltreated. They spoke ill of my tenant to me and to my tenant of me. Gamut Group LLC caused me an inordinate amount of conflict for me with both tenants and my neighbor. It was never their fault despite having ample evidence to the contrary. Each time they had hyperbolic excuses to explain blunders away. One excuse was the owner was contracting a "new" case of Covid every couple of days over a period of 30 days. I can speak from expertise while it is possible to get COVID-19 again while recovering from a previous infection, it is extremely rare. The immune system usually builds some level of protection after an initial infection. They utterly failed to take responsibility and ownership of her mistakes. They are a former affiliate of Kunevich & Lau, Gamut Group LLC engages in fraud, misappropriates client funds, and clearly considers ethics as situationally optional.

Price for the quality was ABSOLUTE bs. But I guess location. Move in day: apartment was filled with trash because the poeple that just moved out were clearly pissed and it smelled terribly of like cat urine ontop of it. Then we all got infested with fleas! (my poor cat) bites all over us. They put us up in a hotel 45min away while they bug-bombed it. Because quality. My current job had to pay for all of my cabs back to the city. Then we moved in and learnred about the plywood walls that they just painted over! No insulation. No warmth in the winter. Another funny thing is our bathroom had a hole in the floor leading to the basement, they just sent a kid to fill it in with caulk and put a tile over it. After two weeks of stepping, it caved in again... Then we had the "black mold incident". We all felt like we had asthma and the guy they sent in gave us the vial of sludge as the "test." He shook his head and just moved on to the next place. Knew nothing actually plausible would happen. Upon some research the dark purple indicator on the mold test isn't a good one! A lawsuit was honestly too much work for the money I had at the time as a student, so I naturally had to just bow out after a lawyer consult because of how screwed everything was and how shitty well they kiiiind of covered thier tracks. So maybe this review will help some unweary souls make the right choice. :) you suck guys. Also, after reading other current reviews to note: All the 5 star reviews are fake! ()

Jennifer's style and deep understanding of the art of service was what we noticed immediately. She was committed to the highest ethical standards and made sure we were informed. This was a constant from our first meeting to the completion of our transaction. Her knowledge, discretion, and intricate attention to detail consistently impressed us. We feel that she really set the standard and represents an approach that is rare in today's real estate world. There might be others with more experience, but no one that will work as hard as Jennifer. My clients enjoyed her warmth, approachability and candor. I am posting this review regarding Barkan Management Company's corporate handling of a serious…read morehealth and habitability complaint at their property Naubuc Green Apartments in Glastonbury, CT. This is not a minor complaint. This is a documented, ongoing failure to protect the health and safety of an elderly disabled tenant in federally assisted housing. My mother is a 69-year-old Section 8 tenant at Naubuc Green who has been unable to safely and comfortably occupy her apartment for over a month. The air quality in her unit has been dangerously elevated -- sustained high VOC levels and elevated particulate matter recorded by continuous monitoring over several weeks, coinciding with a persistent chemical odor particularly in the evenings. My mother experiences cough, throat and nose irritation, headaches, dizziness, and difficulty breathing every time she is inside the unit. Her symptoms consistently improve when she leaves. She has hypothyroidism, which makes her significantly more vulnerable to chemical exposure. She is 69 years old and on a fixed income. Here is exactly how Barkan Management handled this at every level: On March 25, 2026, property manager McKenzie Corcoran committed in writing: 'I'm in contact with BluSky just waiting for a date and time when they can come out, I'll keep you posted.' No new information emerged after that email. Nothing changed. That commitment was silently retracted with no explanation given. When pressed on why BlueSky was cancelled, management claimed BlueSky does not perform this type of air quality testing. I called BlueSky directly. They confirmed they absolutely do perform this type of inspection -- they assess the situation on site and coordinate third party laboratory testing as needed. Management's claim was factually false. On April 6, 2026, Laura J. Waldrop -- Senior Vice President of Barkan Management Company -- personally put the following in writing: 'We will not have your apartment tested for VOCs, by BluSky or any other similar company... Until you can produce this information, we will not do our own testing or transfer you to another unit.' The Senior Vice President of this company personally decided, in writing, that a 69-year-old disabled tenant in federally assisted housing would not have her air tested and would not receive a unit transfer -- regardless of the documented evidence or ongoing symptoms. She then recommended that my 69-year-old mother on a fixed income hire and pay for her own certified air quality engineer out of pocket. My mother pays rent every month to Barkan Management to live in their property. It is management's legal obligation to provide habitable conditions -- not the tenant's financial responsibility to prove her own home is unsafe. That a Senior Vice President would make this recommendation to an elderly Section 8 tenant is unconscionable. The full pattern of failures by Barkan Management: -- Refused to conduct any professional air quality testing despite weeks of documented evidence and ongoing physical symptoms -- Committed in writing to a BlueSky inspection then retracted it without explanation -- Made a false claim that BlueSky cannot perform this type of testing -- Conducted only visual walkthroughs and declared everything fine -- despite VOCs being odorless and completely undetectable without equipment -- Denied every request for a unit transfer despite over a month of displacement -- Offered no temporary accommodation and no reimbursement -- Ignored formal written requests for weeks at a time -- Used procedural technicalities to avoid engaging with documented concerns -- Told an elderly tenant on a fixed income to pay for testing themselves Property manager McKenzie Corcoran became confrontational with my mother during an in-person meeting -- raising her voice and dismissively asking 'What smell, Jolanta?' before repeatedly telling her 'I don't know what you're going to do, Jolanta.' The first statement dismisses the problem entirely. The second implicitly acknowledges it. My 69-year-old mother left that meeting feeling intimidated and afraid. This is how Barkan Management treats elderly tenants raising legitimate health and safety concerns. This property receives federal HUD funding and is designated specifically for elderly and disabled residents -- among the most vulnerable people in our community. Barkan Management's corporate leadership, up to and including the Senior Vice President, made a deliberate decision to leave a sick elderly woman without safe housing rather than fulfill their most basic obligations as a landlord. I have a complete paper trail -- emails with dates and names, VOC and particulate matter data, medical records, and management's own written responses. Every claim in this review is documented. I will be pursuing all available remedies including regulatory complaints, HUD complaints, and legal action.

There is frequent late-night noise that management does nothing about. There was even a large fire in the trash area, and no one ever investigated the cause. They will take literally 15 days to respond to any message. What a garbage.

One of the worst places I've ever stayed & definitely not worth what we paid…read more ONLY PRO was the location - a double edge sword. Centered in a great area HOWEVER - CONs would be the location as well. Directly across the street is a homeless shelter and we got to enjoy a ton of arguing and fights at all times of the night and early morning. Lots of ambulances and every morning between 6:30-6:45 AM. we woke up to construction right outside the bedroom window. The building is poorly insulated and you get to hear everything. Hope you're not a light sleeper! DAY 1 the bathroom flooded due to the toilet not operating/flushing properly. The maintenance guy who came to look at it just put the lid on top of it and walked away. DAY 2 another maintenance guy came who admitted he was not a plumber so I helped him. Showed him the toilet needs a trip lever and a float for the flapper chain, which is on the instructions that is directly underneath the lid of every Kohler toilet. He swapped the trip lever and quickly left so we had to assume it was fixed. That would be a big NO. I adjusted the fill valve to the proper height. I bent the new trip lever so that it would work since it was the wrong one. Adjusted the flapper chain and made it so it will flush just have to hold the trip lever down the whole time. I alerted the property manager, they said they would send out another person. DAY 3 an older disgruntled man shows up, he was arrogant, condescending, and extremely rude. Making comments about me being a plumber longer than me and not knowing what I'm doing, even though the directions for the toilet are directly under the lid and I showed them that. He continue to insult me even though he was incorrect so I told him to go ahead and leave. I called management asked them to have a supervisor or someone important to give me a call about the way I was treated and crickets. They were supposed to send me the check in instructions. They didn't. I called and left several messages. I texted the phone number several times. For an entire hour I got no response. I walked into one of the buildings where the address was supposed to be and that building's desk person knew exactly who I was supposed to talk to and ended up getting me a hold of somebody right away. They completely ignored me, but this guy had a different number for them. They misplaced my info & online info form so I had to do that again. They falsely advertised this place. They gave us an address in between 2 buildings. They have over 200 pictures online and 3 of them belong to this crappy condo and of course they only put the best pictures of this dump online. This condo is subpar, it's got lipstick on the pig. It needs a serious renovation, a lot of things don't work correctly or at all. This place is gross and the management is absolutely horrible.

You won't be working with some cold massive real estate corporation that only cares about getting your $$$. In my personal experience, you'll be working with folks who care.
