Horrible. Cancelled multiple times. When he arrived, he immediately started threatening that if he wasn't paid in cash he would put the piano back in the house. To further the threat, he illegally kept the house key from the lockbox. His behavior was erratic, unprofessional, dangerous, illegal, and threatening. We're a professional organization that paid him within an hour of service. His actions were unbelievably unacceptable. read more

Chris was recommended to us by a piano company. He moved our almost 7' grand all by himself within the house twice in a week for carpeting. Both the moves were handled all by himself. He managed the extremely heavy piano with knowledge and care because he himself plays and owns an even bigger one. Chris bought furniture gliders to help with the second move so as to protect our newly installed carpet. His rates were very reasonable. We are very happy with the excellent job, and feel fortunate to have found Chris. He is honest, considerate, efficient and reliable. read more

Christopher is a great guy. Gave me a great price, cheaper than the trash haulers wanted to dispose of it. Did a great job of moving my Dad's piano across town to a friend who will continue to use it. He was a little hard to get ahold of, but when I called him during business hours he answered and we made arrangements for a next day move. To be expected for a Owner-operator. Friendly, polite and careful. Thanks read more

I think he just like to work with piano. Just call him to confirm a time and job, text the details. He move a baby grand for me alone, pack it all up to the truck in 15mins. Professional tuning and fixing are what you can't get from moving company, and I could ask stupid question about pianos read more

Four months after my initial review, Christopher messaged me this morning. No, he did not apologize. It actually gets worse... (Below, I'll share a photo of the actually conversation.) He tells me he is entitled to a sick day, and how he hopes I never call in for a sick day. I explained to him I wasn't disappointed with his service because he was sick. I was disappointed because he didn't show up and tell me he was sick. I had to call him and ask his whereabouts. Then, he said he would call me back on Monday. He didn't. I called and texted him back Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday without ever getting a response. His reply to this... "B---S---, and F- you." Seems like a really classy guy and with great customer service! read more

Chris is an amazing guy! We used him to move a piano we purchased second hand and couldn't have asked for a better arrangement. He was very flexible with his availability and was able to fit us in within a few days and with a very specific time window. He arrived early at the sellers location, gave a quick inspection of the piano and made sure it was okay and then loaded it up onto his truck all by himself. He is a very knowledgeable guy and is able to do everything from piano moving, tuning and inspection. Look forward to using him in the future to service the piano. read more

Fantastic experience - quick and efficient. He has a great program and I appreciate that he helps people get piano's that need them. Thanks Chris!! read more

I am so pleased with how he treated me and my piano. It had not been tuned for over a decade and he tuned it beautifully in less than 2 hours. He was available when I needed him, his price was very reasonable, and he was reassuring that my piano is in excellent shape despite my neglect. read more

100% unreliable and unprofessional! Actually, If it were possible to give rating of 0, I would do it without any hesitation! Christopher is the least professional person I have ever dealt with... I could not even believe people with such a business philosophy could still be in business :) I wish I had read some of the reviews here before dealing with him. Made an appointment with him several weeks before a planned piano moving, also confirmed with him couple of times before the moving day. 1) On the morning of the moving day, receiving a short message saying "could not come"... 2) First offered to come earliest slot in morning the next business day, but then on the morning next business day sending a message saying can only come in the afternoon. 3) We then rescheduled all other arrangements and waited in the afternoon, but Christopher never showed up, and even without giving us a call ... During the whole process, he rarely responded to text or answered phone ... What a nightmare! absolutely NEVER consider Christopher piano again or recommend to anyone... read more

100% UNRELIABLE Spoke with Christopher Wrisner ( Owner/Operator)) confirmed price, date and time for piano pickup. Also documented via text. Chris did NOT show up he did NOT respond to phone calls or texts. The owner of the piano was moving it was very important to remove the piano at the agreed upon date/time.. We waited 3 1/2 hours for Chris. I now have to pay a storage fee to the current owner of the house for the piano. I did not read his Yelp reviews only Google reviews or I never would have used Chris. Based on my experience & thoroughly reading ALL reviews this is a consistent pattern for Chris. His unprofessional demeanor, lack of basic business skills led me to check public records for other problems such as judgements and liens. I would strongly suggest asking to see his business license and proof of insurance. Clearly there are a number of red flags I would not feel comfortable using him for any of his listed services let alone allow him into my home.. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PIANO TUNER GUY, CHRISTOPHER COCHRAN. HE'S A TOTAL FLAKE!!!! He failed to show up for TWO separate appointments and didn't even have the respect or consideration to call or text me that he couldn't come to our house. HE'S VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNRELIABLE! Fortunately, we found a competent and professional piano turner to do the job!!! read more

Needed to move the piano, and contacted them. I received 1 email and few messages. But after that I tried to call, text message, email again, but no response. We could not schedule the moving date. Very unprofessional. read more

Christopher put a scratch in my piano. See photos. After trying to get him to fix it after he said he would, he just got nasty. Never contacted me back. It's too bad because I don't think it was his intention to scratch it when he was moving it. His dolly just moved on him. It put a noticeable scratch. He was planning on sending some Guy "Seven" from store repair to fix it. Never did. His response was unprofessional and to this date, my piano is still scratched. Try someone else. read more

BUYER BEWARE! If Chris tells you selling a piano is part of his "Donation" program and he just needs to recover the costs, do not fall for it! We waited 3 days for Chris to deliver the piano under the same pretense after committing to a price higher than "his costs" and he never showed or returned any of our calls or texts. Read the reviews on Christopher Piano in San Jose. We also went to the location listed under Yelp and he has been long gone! Hopefully this message saves you from dealing what we had to deal with. I'm not one to write derogatory reviews, let alone reviews at all. This one leaves a scar and a bunch of lost time with empty promises! Should have read the Yelp reviews FIRST! Would definitely give 0 stars if I could. read more

I hired a piano moving service to get our Fischer antique When Chris arrived Sunday 11/1/20 to pick up the piano I chose to donate to a family - who hired Christopher's Piano Service - he was late and alone. When I asked where his helper was; he replied, "if there's no stairs, I'm ok alone." It wasn't okay. He left a 14 inch scratch in my floor and then proceeded to deny it, dismiss me (by hanging-up the phone ) and not return respectful voicemails. He wasn't willing to revisit my home to take a look at what he did. He went straight to, " I didn't have anything to do with that." And I have a witness - who watched him struggle to get the piano tipped onto it's side! We both saw him struggle. When a business owner refuses to acknowledge a mistake they may have made & look further into the possibility, I feel angry. People make mistakes. I make mistakes. When we don't take responsibility for our mistakes, we have problems. Christopher, I am waiting for you to return to my home, look at the floor that was scratched on Sunday when you moved the piano and take responsibility. Regina read more

So unprofessional! He was a total no show for a scheduled piano move. He confirmed the night before, and when he was already 45 minutes late and I texted to see if he was still coming, he said yes, and then never showed! He knew I was waiting at the piano seller's house for hours. He wasted both our time, and didn't even have the decency to communicate with us. I texted the next day to see what happened, no response. How can anybody stay in business like that!? Don't waste your time! read more

Very poor service. I scheduled for a tuning three times, and each time he did not show up, and I had to call to see if he was going to come. No communication, no apology. No way to run a business. Totally unreliable. read more

Christopher, You took my piano for donation and disappeared!!! I called him almost 50 times trying to obtain the donation receipt and the calls were either sent to voicemail immediately or went to voicemail after a few rings. I spotted him at a supermarket parking lot (after 2 weeks of the donation) and he asked me to call him back that night (and why does he always ask customer to follow up instead of him calling me back????) and then of course, it didn't happen as it's always voicemails again. I kept trying .. it's been over a month now... Well, for 1 time (which was about 4 days ago), he called me back in the evening saying he would call me again in 5-10 min as he's almost home so he could process the document.. and he never called me!!! His auto voicemail box message are my responses again. CHRIS, You know who I am so please call me ASAP! read more

would give zero stars if I could. after initally calling and setting up a date and time, he became unresponsive to any calls or texts to confirm/double check this date and time. he would purposely not answer the phone and the one final time he did he purposely hung up. DO NOT HIRE. read more

I bought a pristine-condition Yamaha grand piano from Craigslist yesterday and contacted Chris of Christopher Piano to move it from the seller's house in San Jose to my house in Dublin. He was able to accommodate my request for the very next morning (today) -- a Sunday -- and his rates were very very reasonable. Chris was very prompt in getting to the seller's house just before our scheduled time. He has all the equipment necessary to move pianos safely. Actually, I think his truck is setup purely to move pianos so he's not a general mover. I hear mixed things about using general moving people to move a piano (which is why I contacted this business instead of using a general mover). It turns out Chris is an avid piano player and a piano tuner and he really cares about the safety of the piano! The piano legs were carefully removed and each one was put into individual quilted fabric bags to keep each one safe and to prevent them from banging against one another. The piano itself was wrapped with a number of thick quilted fabrics/blankets and carefully placed onto what looked like a dolly made specifically for pianos (it was a long, skinny dolly). After carefully maneuvering the piano out of the sellers house and into the truck, the piano was then secured against one of the truck walls to prevent it from moving around. Again, it seemed Chris was very well prepared as he had my home address pre-entered into his GPS so I drove behind him to my house. At my house, Chris was preparing to take off his shoes to ensure he doesn't track any dust/dirt in the house without me even asking. Very professional. He was also very patient when I had him position the piano at the exact angle in my house. And since Chris does piano tuning also, I asked him I'd like his tuning service on the piano. But instead of tuning it right then and there to make some additional money from me without having to make another trip out from San Jose, he suggested that I wait 30 days to let the piano settle into the new environment as that may cause the piano to go out of tune. I'm very impressed and pleased I found Christopher Piano to move my grand piano. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking to move a piano! read more

Chris tuned and revoked our piano yesterday; after two moves and a lot of climate changes, it needed some TLC and it really got it. Chris restored its original sweet voice, which the last tuner didn't manage. Chris takes tuning seriously; he worked on the piano for nearly two hours, prompting one of my neighbors to get cranky, apparently about all the repeated notes - I personally found it relaxing; I should have recorded it! I will definitely have Chris work on it next time it needs a tuning. read more

It turns out he had an emergency and had no way of contacting me. That is why he was a no show.

This is the first review I have ever done on Yelp. I have to believe that the negative reviews are from competitors or their friends. I have rarely met a professional, diligent individual such as Chris. I have an extremely rare piano and the care he showed in moving it and setting it up was extraordinary. Absolutely outstanding performance!! I will definitely use him in the future. Dan G read more

This alleged company has the absolute worst service. The company is flaky, unprofessional and I would not recommend them for anything. First, the only way he wants to communicate is via email or text. If you try calling it always goes to voicemail. Second, he is completely unreliable for appointment times. I have made the mistake twice of trying to use him. The first time he showed up 8 hours and 15 minute after his scheduled appointment time. He showed up by himself to move a baby grand piano...the quality of service a quality piano deserved in a move was not possible by himself, The second time we hired him to move a piano so new carpet could be laid down in a house. Christopher W. and i agreed and confirmed a time for him to move the piano and then return it 48 hours later. All services, payment agreement and understanding of urgency & need were agreed to by him. Day of service he NO SHOWED. We tried to call him, he would not answer, we text him many times. He finally replied bur pretended that he knew nothing of the requested service, even though he had agreed and confirmed the day before. We contacted him via text and FIRED HIM FOR FAILURE TO PROVIDE AGREED SERVICE! We the hired another local service, Carnes Piano. They are amazing. I stopped by their shop on N, Winchester across from Santana Row. They agreed to be hired immediately. The provided the service that Christopher Piano, Christopher W. failed to provide. The only low/worst ranking i could give is one star...and that is still to much. Message to Christopher W.: dont even bother replying to this Yelp rating....you failed to provide agreed and confirmed services and I can prove it. read more

The first time Chris moved our piano for us, he was prompt, very kind, and I loved learning about his piano donation service. Unfortunately my most recent experience has been quite awful. I have called Chris more than TWENTY times in the last 2 weeks, texted him at least 10 times, and never received a return phone call and only one text message response. Because we intended to donate our piano (and discussed that with him in our first phone call over 2 weeks ago), we now will have to pay someone else to move it somewhere (we don't have space for it anymore) and will be losing money because it took longer than we expected to get the piano out. Chris is a nice guy, does some great things, but needs some sort of secretary so that he can manage communication with any kind of efficiency. read more

Update: Downgrade to a 2-star. After Chris moved our piano, 2 months this later he came back to tune our piano. After the tuning, my daughter was practicing "jingle bell" and i notice couple keys were making some wheezing echoing sound. I texted Chris to see if he can come back to check out what is going on. He never responded. I figured maybe he is busy. A few days later, I texted again and he still didn't bother to respond. Be warned. Once the transaction is done, don't expect any customer service. He was responsive before but not anymore when you report any problems. While I think he did a great job on moving my piano, he gets a 1-star go his tuning service and customer service. I am still having problems with several keys. I will find a better tuner next time. Hopefully he didn't mess up anything. My piano is only 1.5 year old. read more

I made an appointment to have my piano tuned last week. It was confirmed via returned text. Forty five minutes after the appointment I texted asking if he was still coming. He texted back that he was moving a piano and asked if he could call when he finished. I replied yes but that was the last I ever heard from him and he didn't reply to my follow up text the next day. I don't know anything about the quality of work that he does, but that would require showing up. I would have appreciated being told that he wasn't coming or wasn't willing to do the job he agreed to instead of wasting several hours of my time. read more

NOT EVEN DESERVING OF 1 STAR!!! Christopher not only didn't show up today for the appointment he scheduled to move my piano, but didn't respond to any phone calls or texts. Not showing up, calling to cancel or just not responding is unacceptable and down right RUDE! We cancelled plans and were waiting for Christopher to show up. Christopher Piano is one of the worst piano moving company i have ever seen in my life, He confirm in the morning with a text message, then he never showed up, not even give you a second text that he can not make it today or something...., so people don't have to wait for him hour and hours, be careful don't never ever do business with this company. read more

Chris just left my house and I could not resist writing this review right away. He was referred to me by a colleague of mine after bad luck with reaching anyone on Craigslist. I called him, he picked up the phone right away and was at my house in an hour. My job for him was to move a baby grand piano from one room to another. He came fully prepared with special equipment, disassembled the instrument, wrapped it in protective covers and dollied it to it's final destination. While he made the whole job seem effortless, I saw how important it is to know exactly what you're doing. Thank you Chris for an awesome job and I'll be using you again! read more

Chris has tuned and moved the pianos at my home and my music school. He is thorough, friendly and easy to work with. Promptness and professionalism are very important to me as a business owner and he has both. Tuners and movers I worked with in the past would miss appointments or show up late. Chris comes at the time scheduled or call to let me know if he has been delayed. I am really happy to have found him as I use movers and tuners frequently. read more
