The flowers had to fit in a small glass box, around the urn. I was served by Lynette, a true artist! She immediately called the funeral home to obtain the dimensions of the box and started sketching out desings with dimensions/ created a maquette of the box with a vase to replicate the urn. Lynette was able to provide us with ample visuals of what the arrangement would look like, and we were right to have full faith in her abilities because the final product was SPECTACULAR. My grandmother wanted a cascade of pink and white roses. Stoneblossom not only created two horseshoe arrangements to caress the urn, but a beautiful cascade of pink and white roses to top the box which is exactly what my grandmother would have wanted. We received multiple compliments from friends and family on how gorgeous the floral arrangements were. One was in a basket with sponges supporting the blooms, and the other was in a blue glass vase. The flowers were not highly scented. I found the one with sponges hard to water as it doesn't seem absorbent. They recommend cutting 2 inches off each bloom every second day. All this to say I was very happy to receive the flowers; they really cheered me up.

I am a fan of Scrim's Florist. They have lovely bouquets for mother's day and valentine's…read moreday--absolutely beautiful. But what keeps me going back is the house plants. Every plant I've gotten at Scrim's has been beautiful and done really well. I wouldn't really say I have a green thumb, nor am I death to all houseplants--and the staff at Scrim's has always been really knowledgeable and helped me choose plants that are not toxic for my plant-chewing cat and that are pretty easy for me to care for (and therefore won't die on me). The plants have always been healthy and survived the move from the flower shop to my apartment--I have one plant that has doubled in height and is just doing beautifully. I've picked up housewarming gifts here as well, the staff are always really prompt and happy to help. Gold stars all around. Also, they do a great job wrapping up the plants for you. I picked one up in winter one time and she wrapped it a few layers to protect it from the wind and put a cute little ribbon and sticker on it--simple and pretty.
