I was sold one monthly price and charged a lower one. It took me 4 minutes, 5 phone calls, 3 emails and countless assurances that they would call me back to sort the problem... which they did, I always had to chase them! The only saving grace. There is no space, however the extortionate monthly price and fact you have to give 3 decades notice if you wish to leave, coupled with the fact you always feel welcome make this an unpleasant place to be. If you could leave 0 stars I wouldn't. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid, a void is engulfing me... but its a nice one. Reg, Monty

There was about 80 people splashing around in their bikinis and costumes whilst behind them a gigantic screen played film footage all centred around swimming and swimming pools. There were ushers selling popcorn and people queing to sit down and watch from the raised spectator seats. It was a quietly magical experience that definitely encouraged me to go back to Prince Regent and actually swim there. As well as having a proper pool with different swimming lanes for professionals and sports fanatics, there's a shallow pool for kids and beginners and a warm teaching pool for toddlers. There's also a sauna, steam room and gym apparently - all at extra cost on a daily or weekly basis. Will post photos of the Cine City / White Night event in a few hours for swimming movie fans!

This swimming pool complex is in a convenient location right next to Starbucks and Pizza Express…read more(Not the best places to go right after a swim but what can you do?!) nearby the north laines - and it has a car park, a fairly small car park but it's great for the nightmare that is Brighton. Plus it's free after 6. Bonus! This pool itself is fairly average - it's good if it's not busy and it has 2 other seperate pools for swimming lessons and aqua aerobics (which by the way I must say looks rather fun!) The gym part of the complex is situated right above the pool so you can look up at those on the treadmills - just as they can look down at you which I guess it adds a little amusement! The changing rooms are OK, there is a fair selection of sizes including family rooms (I know I shouldn't use these but it's so much nicer to have space!). The thing is it does smell a little, as do the toilets... If you live in Brighton and enjoy swimming, there's no reason not to go here, it's just not the cleanest of complexes.

However, it is the whole set of facilities that make every session that little bit better. With indoor/outdoor swimming pools, a great gym, tennis courts, badminton courts, physios, steam room, sauna and spa but to name a few, the facilities are vast. I always feel that if you are going to do fitness you need to do cardio and weight training as both are necessary for good all round fitness. Then you need a reward which is when the sauna and steam rooms come in. This place isn't cheap but if you go on the website you can get a free days membership so you can see what your missing out on. Creche facilities as well so having kids is no excuse!!!

There are actually 3 pools as one is mainly for birthday parties etc. and is seperated from the other 2, so this place is good for kids birthday parties. I myself have had a birthday party and had a cracking time. Although, my mate lost his locker key and all his clothes got stolen, very funny! I to hope that they improve it slightly in the refurb but they shouldn't mess with it too much. I like having diving boards as they are always a good way to break up swim sessions.

This is the…read morefirst time I have visited the King Alfred Leisure Centre and the pool is okay, quite worn but had good facilities and friendly staff. The changing rooms and shower area have all been renewed and the centre as a whole has a nice quiet and relaxed feel to it. There are also two large sports halls, a gym to grow those muscles and a selection of exercise studios for classes. It is a shame there was not a huge float or wave machine for children, but it has some great space to have some splashing fun and swim some lengths. I would recommend the King Alfred Leisure Centre as a place to take the kids on a cheap day out. I was quiet lucky to get access for free on the day as they were giving out free day passes (keep your eyes peeled).

They have early morning swims 7am to 8.45 every week day. There is childrens swimming lessons everyday at 4pm to 6pm. Blaggs ( Brighton lesbian and gay sports group ) meet every Monday at 7.15pm to 8.15pm. There are adult only sessions tuesday nights at 7.30pm to 9.20pm. And also on Thursday at 8pm to 9.20pm. There a water work out on Mondays and Thursdays ( times vary ). There is womens only Aqua 2pm to 3pm Thursdays. There are different swimming lesson seesions for adults, times vary so phone for details. It is managed by DC Leisure on behalf of B&h city council. Swimming prices are £3.30 for adults and £2 for juniors, other concessions are available. Pool hire is £44 per hour or pool party £36 per hour.
