I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Christina. I have really sensitive teeth and my hands will literally start shaking the second I walk into a dentist's office (bad previous experiences with other dentists). The staff are all awesome - everyone is so nice and patient with me. Most importantly, her work is the best I've had. She takes her time, doesn't rush through procedures, really listens to you and when she's done, you're just like WOW! I went here for three years while I was in school in Chicago. The staff and dentists are wonderful. They make sure you understand everything that is happening and that you are comfortable. It was always a pleasure to come into the office, even when I was having several fillings done. Really great views overlooking the river. Its obvious their technology and equipment is top notch. I hate going to the dentist, but here they make it a pleasant experience. Very caring and knowledgable dental hygienist. They taught me how to floss well and they try to give me suggestions on how to clean my teeth better. One thing is that they seem pretty booked so if they discover a cavity while you have your check up, you will probably have to come back when it is convenient for them (when there is a separate appointment). Personally, it would be nice to have everything cleaned and fixed in one period of time and not make a second trip back to the dentist given my hectic schedule. When a significant amount of dental work needed to be done (and we are talking A LOT of work), I was glad to find people who were genuinely concerned for and invested in my overall health and well-being. While Christina and her staff (except for the receptionist [see below] and someone named "Christy" in billing) are extremely nice on the surface, do not let that fool you. I think because of their high rent being located in the Sears Tower, and most folks being on good corporate insurance, they will give you a ride. I was told on my first visit I needed deep cleaning and they found ELEVEN cavities. 11??! How in the world did my previous dentist miss 11 just a year prior? Christina said it was because of a new laser technology that prevents cavities from occurring in the future.... okay....fine. I had them all filled. The second downer is that they bill you on the spot for services rendered that day, then bill your insurance company, then bill you AGAIN. I was only told after them calling and calling that the first payment is just an estimate. So I pay once... and then have to pay again? WTF? How about getting your so-called "estimates" right the first time? Lastly, the receptionist is horribly, horribly rude. She would be the one sitting on the right as you walk in. Thankfully, my company moved away from this building as I only went their for the convenience, as I assume most folks in that building or area do as well. Be sure to ask questions beforehand, read all the fineprint, and be sure the work they are doing is actually warranted and not just another money-making greedy business. read more

Kromkowski DDS & her amazing staff (I met Shelly at the front desk and my dental hygienist was Leslie) on 8/5/14 (who would have thought that a dentist office would be so much fun?!). Their customer service and quality of care are top-notch and the view of Lake Michigan from the comfy dentist chair in their professional, modern, & clean office is amazing!! Couldn't disagree more with the other listed poster. I went to Kromkowski when I worked in the Sears and was pleased from soup to nuts with the experience. I hadn't been to a dentist regularly in a few years (grad school and a lack of insurance), so when I got there my mouth was in pretty rough shape. They filled a bunch of small cavities, including redoing some of my prior ones (replacing silver fillings with the natural colored ones, and to make sure that the bad fillings done by my prior dentist didn't result in me having to get *another* root canal). The front of desk staff was friendly and I didn't have any complications with billing. The dental assistants were all very personable and seemed good at their jobs (Megan, in particular, is super charismatic). While I've only really been to four dentists in my life, Kromkowski seemed like a paragon of what I'd like to have - professional, straight-forward, and personable. Anyway, I was sad to see the bad review and wanted to weigh in. My current dentist told me that all my fillings look really good, so that should count for something too! read more

My current dentist had gone out of business due to COVID and did not notify me. I was very concerned about continuing my dental health but was having difficulty finding a new dentist I could trust and feel comfortable with. I was very, very fortunate in finding Dr. Kromkowski! From the very first examination, she found some issues that my previous dentist had overlooked. Dr. Kromkowski and her team are the best dental team I have gone to in my life. I've been going to Dr. Kromkowski for almost 4 years now, and I have absolutely no complaints. The staff has always been friendly and the hygenists are great to work with. Dr. Kromkowski is skilled at what she does. I've had botched dental work in the past and I feel comfortable going here because I know she's going to do a good job and do it right the first time. I'm a nervous nellie when it comes to getting cavities filled (who isn't) and she always makes me feel at ease. On my last visit she even was able to do a few fillings without novocaine (the shot is the worst part in my opinion) which really made my day. Dr. Kromkowski recently opened her own practice in the west loop (no longer at the Sears tower) and the views of the river along with the great care almost make going to the dentist a pleasant experience. read more

Whenever I think of Dr Kromkowski's practice, I think of female power. And that is only ONE of the reasons why I am a fan of this place. In the past one and a half years, I've had a crazy schedule, bad teeth, root canal issues and tons of other dental situations. Dr Kromkowski and her staff have always supported, responded and reassured me in every way possible. Best of all, they are non-judgmental and NOT pushy - which is quite contrary to other dentists I've been to. Additionally, everyone seems to like each other. My first visit was great! I went on a recommendation of a friend and I'm very pleased. Katie did my cleaning and was fantastic at explaining everything and anticipating when I needed a break, to swallow, etc. I have some prior dental work that needs to be replaced and Dr Kromkowski came up with a plan I feel very comfortable with. Dr. Kromkowski and her staff are among the best. Forget the dental field...pretty much anywhere in customer service. Nice, friendly, personable and most importantly professional. As sa doctor she is very thorough and definitely knows her stuff. In a previous post someone seemed shocked they had a large number of cavities and suggested that they were gouging him...well I cannot speak for him, but for someone whom had not visited a dentist since 1999...yes 12 years...I feel the exam and practices were fair and justified. Lets face it..going to the dentist is as...well as much fun as going to the denstist...but they at least make it bearable. Granted, was I excited about a $500 bill, no, but at least I will have good looking and great looking choppers for years to come. Oh, and note they are NOT in the Sears / aka Willis tower any more. They have their own spot and own team now...so a good thing..just got better in my humble opinion. I give the business and staff the 5 stars. I came to Dr. Kromkowski in 2009 with significant issues due to a sealant that was applied to my molars by a prior dentist. There was a lot of repair work to do; she removed the sealant, filled any cavities and I've had no issues since. All the hygienists are very friendly, professional and efficient. Dr. Kromkowski is really nice, honest, smart, and really cares for her clients. I recommended her to my wife who is also a fan. I'd highly recommend her if you're looking for a dentist in the Chicago Loop or anywhere. Worth going out of your way for. read more

I have been working with Christina for eight years, and highly recommend her and her staff. She is very competent, has a soft touch with the needles and drills, and does not over-diagnose her patients. Her new office has all the latest technologies (e.g. digital x-rays, cameras, cavity identifiers) Only complaint is that it takes a long time to get a (non-emergency) appointment. Also parking can be a little expensive in the area, and they don't validate. read more

I came to Dr. Kromkowski's office after a different dentist messed me up. She, and her entire staff, are such PROS. They fixed me up, and it was 100% painless. I can't recommend them enough. I find this place to be a great place to get a consultation on your dental health, get a filling, and get prescribed for outside work such as wisdom teeth removal, etc. I've been here twice so far, and they give you great peace about your teeth, are honest yet kind, and give you tips if you ask for them on how to maintain dental health. Let me start by saying that I have had a life of dental problems, due partly to genetics and partly to growing up on soda and candy. I have had dentists throughout my life that have been mediocre to absolutely clueless. When I moved to Chicago in 2007, I started seeing Dr. Kromkowski at her previous location in Sears Tower( I'm never calling it Willis:)). I have never received such great customer service as well as superior dental care. I had to stop seeing her because I left my job at NMH to start school at UIC, lost my NMH insurance and the UIC "Campus Care" dental discount only allows you to see certain dentists. Of course, over the 2 years I've been in school is when I needed crown replacements, root canals and fillings! The UIC provider I was seeing in the West Loop was not giving me great service, but as a student I could afford it. I finally had enough when I needed a temporary filling which he placed, replaced with a true filling. He saw me for 3 minutes after waiting an hour, and said I needed another root canal, then tried to charge me $58 for an "emergency" visit. I refused and left, not knowing what I would do. I remembered how great Dr. Kromkowski was and that I had been referring folks to her, and decided to reach out. She contacted me within an hour, and told me that she would see me and work something out for payment, knowing I didn't have insurance and that I am a student. Let me tell you, the visit was amazing. ALL the staff were so friendly. Megan assisted Dr. Kromkowski and was constantly checking on me to make sure I was alright. Dr. K explained everything to me, agreed that a filling was the better choice compared to a root canal, and she did it for me on the spot! That was this morning and I am pain free! If she was wrong, I would be in severe pain in need of that root canal, but I am not. I see some of the other comments on here about her services being expensive, and I understand that as a college student, but let me say this. First, you get what you pay for, and her service is QUALITY. Second, with insurance, she is no more expensive than other dentists, and you would pay a good amount anywhere without insurance; unless you go to my old guy in the West Loop. This dentists CARES about her patients and would not arbitrarily find cavities; as some have stated. If you are in need of a new dentist, do yourself a favor and see Dr. Kromkowski and get it right the FIRST time! The team is great, the views are spectacular and the service is quality:) By the way, to the person complaining about parking, the office is in the Loop, surrounded by buses, trains and is literally a couple blocks from Ogilvie and Union Station! read more

Finding Dr. Christina Kromkowski is one of the best things that happened to me! Anyone who has had dental issues in Chicago knows what an ordeal it is to find a competent, skilled, ethical and friendly dentist. I had struggled with dental issues for many years, have been to many dentists, and I can honestly say I had lost all faith that I could find a great dentist. Dr. Christina Kromkowski has put together a team of extraordinarily talented, ethical, professional and compassionate people that is simply the very best you can get in dental care in this city. I cannot speak highly enough of her and her team. When I went to her, I genuinely thought I was going to lose some teeth; my mouth was in really bad shape. Her skills are amazing!!! We began with a great exam, X-rays and put together a treatment plan that included a deep cleaning, several fillings, several crowns, re-treatment of several root canals - MAJOR work. I have now worked with her and Dr. Hayley Clause for a year. We have accomplished everything in the plan, and my teeth and gums have never been in better shape. The work they did is of the highest quality, using the best materials, and done with compassion and ethical professional judgement. We really partnered in making medical decisions about what was best for me. Their receptionist Leslie is a delight - always working with my insurance to get me the best rates. I did payment plans for several of the crowns I had done - they were always so wonderful and understanding. Everyone at the office is so friendly and kind and just wonderful. Very nice staff and what is very important to me, very punctual. I ran from my other dentist because of not being professional "clock-wise". Great equipment and the staff seem to like working there - good atmosphere. I have been very happy with Dr Kromkowski and her staff. My kids even like it there. They are all very pleasant and professional. They keep scraping to a minimum during cleanings and use the water jets instead. They also have more modern x ray equipment than my last dentist so you can see the x rays as soon as they are taken. read more

Got a Root Canal by one of the Dentists at this practice. While doing the initial extraction and installing the temporary crown, the dentist and her assistant talked non-stop, a mile-a-minute, about their friend's husbands, who they didn't like, etc. the kinda stuff you hear in those old-school hair salons. Surreal as it was, it was highly entertaining (did you know that Perry, Gina's husband, was never in medical school, he just used her money... etc). I wouldn't have minded had they been able to do so while still concentrating on the task at hand... my mouth. Once complete, I realized I couldn't close my mouth fully, it felt like something on that side was in the way. I mentioned this but was assured it was probably just the temp crown so I figured I could deal with it til I got the permanent crown. A week or two later, excited to be able to eat with the left side of my mouth again, I got the permanent porceline crown put in. It felt funky but after the dentist told me everything was in place, I figured it was probably just me and the anaesthesia. The next day however, if felt even more askew (I literally had to shift my jaw to the side to get it flat). Not one to make mountains out of molehills, I figured I'd get used to it or it'd wear down and adjust. After a week though, I was getting headaches and was constantly irritated by it so I called the dentist and came back in... This time they were much more somber and focused. They drilled away at it, eventually calling in another dentist to help re-set the crown. Still to no avail. Though I wasn't advised, I realized they then turned their attention to the teeth around the crown (including chiseling away at a gold crown I had previously gotten (different dentist) in honor of my mom). An hour later, they thought I was imagining it and I'd resolved to wait til I could see my regular dentist back in NY when, voila! they found the culprit. After all that, what did it end up being? Apparently, a piece of the temp crown adhesive gunk was applied to a tooth *above* my crown. A minute more of drilling and I was back to normal (albeit with less of my other teeth remaining). I thanked them and ran from the office, full knowing I'd contest any charges from this "work". This would just be a good story had it ended there. A few months passed and the office contacted me about my "pending debt" with them. In short, I described all the above to them and was told they'd discuss with the owner and see what could be done. Another month later, I was explicitly told they'd be eating all the charges and that it would come out of that dentists fee for the work. (there's a good chance I'll have to get the crown redone as it began hurting again) All of this communication had been very positive and polite; I relegated the experience to a bad dentist but fair practice... Until today, when I got a letter from the office indicating I still need to pay the bulk (2/3s) of the bill to "cover lab fees" while acknowledging all of the above insanity. Most amazing of all is the last line of the letter... "Your failure to respond to this final request for payment will require us to take whatever steps we feel are necessary to protect ourselves and our dental practice." I am going to pay the amount and simply hope that karma works. After all, with service like this, they will need every penny they can get to "protect their dental practice". read more

I have seen Dr Kromkowski for just over 3 years (moved away from Chicago several months ago) and absolutely love her & her staff. She is extremely competent and very personable. I've had to have fillings re-filled and she was very gentle and accommodating. I highly recommend both Dr Kromkowski as well as her dental hygienists. I can't believe someone had something bad to say about Dr. Kromkowski office. all I have to say is if your in need of a dentist and let's say it's been a while since you've gone to one than call up Dr. Kromkowski office and make an Appointment. I made my first Appointment 2 years ago and I am glad that I called her and I hope to be a patient of hers for a long time. her staff is Awesome, before I went there I was really nervous, (my hands were sweating) but there was no need to be nervous cause they made me feel right at home. Her staff consists of Dr. Kromkowski (of course) and Dr Hailey, they are the best ever! and They Rock! than you have Lesley & Megan who are the coolest they assist and also do the cleanings. they even play movies or TV shows for you on Netflix. and Christy who sits at the front desk is so sweet she is so cool she will tell you what your balance is on your insurance or if you needed time to pay off your bill she will work something out with you. they have the best Equipment, Great view of the city, and there very nice. so if you are looking to change dentist or it's been a while since you have been to one give them a call I promise you wont be disappointed. read more

Do not see this dentist. Her and her staff are terrible. An hour before my appointment I received a call from the receptionist telling me to "get to the office as soon as possible." Since I live an hour away from their office, I told her I would get there in time for my scheduled appointment. However, she called me again as I was on my way, demanding to know where I was. I told her that I was on my way. When I arrived at the office the receptionist rudely informed me that Dr. Kromkowski would do her best to get as much done during my appointment (I was having two cavities filled). I later found out that the office was in such a hurry to get through their patients because they were having their office holiday party that night. Dr. Kromkowski drilled my teeth, left me in my chair, went to take care of another patient, came back and filled the cavities, and told me I could leave. When the Novocaine wore off later that afternoon, I realized that she had not properly filed down the filings because my teeth were grinding together uncomfortably. I called the office to let them know. The receptionist, without apologizing, said my options were to get back to the office in the next 15 minutes, or come back in two days on Monday during their regular office hours. When I told her that wouldn't work for me since it would take me an hour to get to their office, and I work during their office hours on Monday she said to call another dentist for help. These people are rude and Dr. Kromkowski did a bad job filling my cavities. Do not go here! read more

Dr Kromkowski is the best dentist I've had and I get a lot of dental work done. I value my teeth since it's the only set I'll have for the rest of my life so I've done everything between root canals to fillings. For the past 4 years, both my husband and I have had multiple fillings, crowns and invisiline done with her. We go twice a year for cleaning. All the work she's done for us has been amazing. He's gentle and careful with the anesthesia as well as performing all her work (drilling, etc). She's very detailed in explain what work needs to be done and what options you have and she'll give you her honest opinion. Her staff is excellent and knowledgeable. She uses the latest dental technology which is really nice. Also if you're sitting there for a while she'll even play netflix on the TV screen above the chair. The overall experience, given that it's a dentist appointment which can be unpleasant, is absolutely fantastic. I recommend her to all my peeps at work and you should go there too! read more

I was able to get an appointment within 48 hours because they reserve time in their schedule for emergencies, which I think is brilliant. I needed to replace an old crown and was delightfully surprised when Dr. Kromkowski told me that she would make the replacement crown there in her office while I waited all of 20 minutes for its fabrication. No temporary, no waiting weeks for some lab in who knows where to make it. The whole process was a breeze, no discomfort, no waiting and a perfectly fitting new crown in about two hours total. I was a little annoyed because I went for a cleaning, and they didn't do a cleaning. Dr. K did an exam and decided I needed a deep cleaning (I didn't have dental insurance for 2.5 years, so she wasn't wrong). But I'm glad I didn't let my first impression hold too much weight. My experiences since then have been fantastic. Lesley is my favorite! She's really personable and great at her job. Dr. K is also really great - she explains everything and makes sure you're comfortable, both immediately and in terms of your overall dental health and what she suggests for a course of action.
