Dining bench seat, purchased one 5 years ago and wanted another. When I lifted bench to sit on I noticed how much lighter it was compared to the one I previously purchased. Sales person said it's exactly the same solid quality but I knew it was not. The old one was solid wood, heavy new one is made of plywood much lighter. When confronted with the pictures of both she would not apologize. Cheaper and more costly. Not impressed with sales person, prices, quality or lack of transparency. read more

If I could give this place -5 stars I would. The furniture is nice enough. But actually getting what you order is another story. We bought a recliner 6 weeks ago. After we purchased it, they called to say it would be 3 weeks to get it. After research, we discovered that their furniture comes from Ashley. And we overpaid. If we had just gone to Ashley Furniture we would have saved 100$. But, we had already paid so the mistake was ours. Our chair came in after 3 weeks. Got it unwrapped and it was broken. We returned the broken chair and were told they'd order a new one. It's been 3 weeks again, still no chair. Another week at least. So, long story short--- save yourself time, money, and trouble. So it's been almost a year since I've purchased my sectional from here. I personally will never shop here again. I have had so many problems with my furniture breaking. I've never had furniture fall apart in such a short amount of time. Two of the recliners on my sectional does not open. (sectional has three recliners). One, because the handle broke, the other due to a mechanism that is broken. I have opened a claim through the company for warranty I purchased, but they aren't any help either. I opened the claim on December 6th, and I still haven't heard anything. I reach out to them, and get told they will contact me but then never do. I really wish I had taken the money I spent here and gone to a place that had better, durable furniture. read more

Employees at this store are not truthful or forthcoming about their products. The items of furniture are not made for this store alone they can be purchased for considerably less at the Texas Furniture Ranch Rogers Texas and Monterrey Rustic in San Antonio. Each set is up to 800 to 1000 dollars less at these stores. I decided to shop local and support this store during the COVID and this is my experience. I paid for my purchase and made a pickup time when we arrived to pickup the sofas were already wrapped for delivery. The sales women made me sign a document stating that there is no warranty on these items. I asked is there something wrong with them? She stated no. When we arrived home to unload and unwrap items one sofa had a 4inch tear down the seam on back and the other two holes in the right side. They are not honest or they would have provided this information on pickup. instead they get you to sign a form saying you have no warranty or comeback on items. Shopping local isn't always the best bet. DO NOT SIGN ANY FORMS FROM THIS COMPANY BEFORE LOOKING THOROUGHLY AT ITEMS BEFORE DELIVERY/PICKUP. We moved to Castroville,Texas in August 2017 as we were displaced by Hurricane Harvey in Port Aransas. We purchased a home in Castroville in May 2018. Preferring to deal locally; we went to Christians Furniture in Hondo to purchase a TV stand for a 75" TV. We saw one made by Ashley; with a built in electric fireplace that would serve our purpose. We ordered it; and were told it would be here in about 2 Weeks. Upon opening the carton and beginning assembly; we noticed several broken and damaged pieces. Called the store and left several messages. Finally; hired a person to put it together. He had to glue and re drill several pieces. When Christians finally responded we told them what had happened. They said bring the broken pieces and they would order replacements. I told them what we did; and would they be willing to offer a partial discount as goods were damaged. They refused. Therefore I do not recommend doing business with this establishment. read more

We purchased a lift chair, a$1500.00 item, for medical needs from Christians Furniture in Hondo. Within less than a month the chair the quit working. We notified the store and they sent a representative to try to resolve the problem. He took pictures of the chair to include the mechcanism, remote as well as the model and serial number. After this young man left I was able to get the chair operating. It seems that there was a loose wire connection in the remote and when contact was made the chair worked as designed. I called the store and advised them that the remote apparently had a loose wire connection and if one could make it connect the remote worked. We asked to have this remote replaced under warranty. We were in contact with the store and sales lady on several occasions trying to resolve our problem and were told that they needed the serial number in order to contact their supplier. We provided this information multiple times and were told that they would get it to the supplier. Not getting results from the store we contacted the manufacturer of the chair and told them our problem. We were told that we needed to go through the store to replace the remote and it would take about two maybe three weeks to get it replaced. We again called the store and gave the model and serial number and waited three weeks with no response. Finally after complaining about their service we were told that they were waiting for the replacement remote to arrive. It finally did and the same young man who looked at the chair the first time brought it to our house. In the past we have purchased several thousand dollars worth of furniture fro Christians but I will not spend another dollar there and certainly will not recommend this business to another person. Very poor customer service. read more

This store doesn't even deserve one star and I wouldn't recommended this place to anyone! They have zero integrity, horrible customer service and will take whatever measures necessary to take advantage of customers. My husband and I went in to browse and ended up deciding to purchase a KING size bedroom set. We specifically stated to our sales rep, VERONICA, that we were interested in a king size set and wanted to know what they had available that day. She showed us four different sets and we decided on one. She quoted us a price for that bedroom set in a KING. I also inquired about their king size mattress sets. She told me how much those were. I then asked about a king size quilt and she told me she would look into if that specific quilt was available in a king size. She did and quoted the price on that as well. She rang us up and we paid in full for our furniture that day. Fast forward to 5 days later. Now I told this woman at least 5 times I wanted a king size bed set. Imagine my surprise when I'm delivered a queen set! Surely I figured it was a mistake. So I overlook my paperwork and much to my dismay she put queen size bed in the sale. I admit my fault for not catching it but she quoted me a price for the KING size bed and that's what she charged me. The delivery guys call the store to let them know what's going on and they were told to wait until VERONICA could call them. We waited over 30 mins! There was no sense of urgency. I called up there myself and spoke to her. She made no attempt to acknowledge her mistake and took zero accountability. She flat out told me that on the day of purchase there wasn't even any KING size sets available!!!!! So that tells me there she knowingly LIED to my husband and I just to get the sale. How can you show your customers 4 different King size sets, quote us prices, charge us, and then say there was never any king size sets available to begin with? Shady, shady, shady! But wait, it gets better. At this point I've lost my composure and have dropped a few f bombs, so she hands the phone over to the manager, CHRISTIAN. If you thought Veronica was bad, this guy here is a real piece of work. He wouldn't even let me get a single word in. He spoke over me the entire time! He also took zero accountability for their mistake and tried to put all the blame on me for not noticing I was sold a queen size set. He kept saying, and I quote, "It's there in black and white that it was a queen size set." The only "solution" he gave me was to get a King size bed in an entirely different bed set that wouldn't match the rest of my furniture. That bed was a $200 difference and then he wanted me to pay a second delivery fee!! So for their mistake he was looking to gain an additional $340 after I already spent $1700 in his store! And then he demanded that I pay that over the phone without actually seeing the furniture. Which I was absolutely not going to do since the night stand I received was damaged!! Seeing how upset I was my husband grabbed the phone and tried to reason with him. That did not go well either. He did the same thing and wouldn't let my husband talk and when he did he would cut him off! He kept telling my husband, "We were under the impression you wanted a queen." I don't know who gave them that "impression" because I assure you, we never ONCE inquired about queen size anything. My husband and him got into a heated argument that resulted in absolutely nothing being done to fix our issue. I'm stuck with a queen size bed I never wanted! Christian's Furniture is an absolute joke. The owner and his employees are completely dishonest and use shady business practices. They do not care about their customers whatsoever. They may put on a good show on their Facebook lives, but all they care about is putting money in their pockets. I will NEVER spend another dime here or let my friends and family. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this store. They do not deserve your hard earned money! read more

We have purchased several items from Christians and have always been pleased with the customer service and the furniture we have from them.

As an individual member of the local Chamber of Commerce I'm always hearing to buy locally. Unfortunately, I cannot personally give this recommendation to Christians Furniture. We purchased a coffee table on Monday, 4/30/19. My wife decided to return it due to a unfortunate smell from possibly the treatment on the wood. We were told they wouldn't take the table back and that we just needed to let the piece of furniture air out. We asked to speak with a manager but never got the opportunity. The manager apparently just told the sales representative to tell us the same thing she had previously told us about not being able to return the item. It is one, amazing that we couldn't return the item and secondly, not having the manager come talk to use even though we; as the customer; requested it. We definitely won't be purchasing from this store in the future due to the lack of customer service concerning this incident. So much for buying locally. read more
