A local recommended it to me and I found one of the most eclectic menus I've seen in a while. German themed restaurant with a brewery. The beer was delicious. They are kind with samples. The food is over the top. The stand outs were the bacon wrapped cheese curds and one of the best soups I've ever had - Drunken Potato with beer cheese base. Wow. Excellent service from Lilly behind the bar. As a solo diner it was a perfect experience. Side note - they also have event space upstairs and video arcade stuff. I was told they even have summer stuff with a backyard volleyball court and music area. Wish this place was in Iowa City.

They specialize in German cuisine (think brats, cheesy potatoes, pretzels, and sauerkraut), German Beers, but they also make killer cocktails! Service is great - their hosts, bartenders and servers are all super friendly, and the ambiance is laid back, chill, with a ton of big screen TVs for sports lovers. There was some extremely trashy/weird art on the wall and the clientele seems to match. The outdated techno coming from the "DJ" was a fitting backdrop to a giant screen that seemed to be projecting someone's Internet search. I opted to sit far away from that mess, right next to a giant fan that was off until I went returned from the bathroom and it had been turned on full blast and stood in place of my chair. Good incentive for dancing perhaps, but I took it as a hint to get some fresh air...far away from this bar. Might be better on a slower, more mellow night.

I've played live music in this town for about 17 years, this is by far one of the best venues for music or to meet friendly local people. I've had my personal issue's but that doesn't take away from the fact that this place is locally legendary for us musicians. It also sports local artwork all over all the art inside was done by artist from right here in town.

I did have a bit of buyers remorse, I saw some receive the open faced pork tenderloin, and it was literally a plate full of food. it would easily feed two people or eat some now and take the rest of it home for a second meal.
