The supervisor responded that they purchase parts from a "reputable website." When I explained that the part I found was an OEM part from a reputable source, no explanation was given for the significant price difference. I then requested to speak with a manager, owner, or someone higher up, but was repeatedly told that no one was available. At no point was a clear diagnosis, justification, or cost breakdown provided. This experience gave the impression that the company assigns inflated, arbitrary prices without being able to clearly explain the root cause of the issue or justify their diagnosis--yet expects customers to blindly trust them.
