Brought in a refurbished LV bag with broken handles. The owner suggested new leather handles that he will make plus he has the cognac paint. There were a few other minor repairs such as the zipper pull, and the decorative pieces. He gave me a 2 wk window to fix it and demanded payment upfront. I paid him and the bag was not ready in 2 weeks but more like 3-4 wks. When I picked it up he was still working on it and had an attitude. He had forgotten to do some detail as we had discussed. I don't have a photo to post or I would! I was so happy with the work done here. I brought in two pairs of beat to hell custom shoes that I had restitched and cleaned. They did such a fantastic job. The work is solid and the repairs have held up for many months. New life was breathed into my shoes. I also brought in a Coach bag to be repaired and again, excellent, fine detailed work. I recommend this shop thoroughly and while it might not be cheap $, neither is *anything* else these days- at least know you'll be getting quality. read more

I finally found my go to shoe repair store! Quick service. came by and had 3 pairs of boots that needed heel taps to be repaired. $3/pair for heel taps, and this is the cheapest I've seen both in Philly and in LA. They were done w/in 10 minutes. When they're busy, they'll ask for you to come back in an hour, which I don't mind. They will offer shoe shining as well, which is $10/pair (for boots). Chris Shoe Repair is a small hole-in-the-wall shop. I stopped in after passing by this location a number of times and seeing insoles in the window (and my feet were killing me). I walked through the door and was greeted by the owner's adorable 9ish year old daughter who helped me pick out the right insole while her father was busy with another client. Once he was done, the owner spent no less than 10 minutes making sure I selected the right insole, tailoring it to my foot and shoe. Plain and simply, stores do not have sales reps that give you this type of customer service anymore. I was asked if I needed the insole glued down or left loose, cut down a bit more in the heal, etc (all for just an insole! Mind you, this is a retail item; I'm sure he makes very little money on it). Once it was all set, he charged me nothing for his time (just the price of the item itself) and off I went. Phenomenal customer service. Thanks Chris! read more

When the former owner, Chris sold this shop, I thought we were done for. However, the new owner is as excellent as Chris. He does great work, he took my favorite pair of granny boots, which I've had for well over twenty years and made them look beautiful. He has also resoled my Ferragamo shoes so they look as good as new. Additionally, he repaired the leather straps on several handbags I thought were too bad to fix. He is not a chatty character, but neither was Chris. Hands down this is the best shoe repair shop in the area. read more

The new owner is terrible - he made me pay in advance then claimed he couldn't find my boots. Instead of looking around for it in the store he said I probably picked it up earlier I just don't remember it. He accused me of lying. I had to go back 3 times for him to finally dig out my boots. read more
