There's no price list, and the guy just said $20 for both things, totaling $40. I was told that the shoes would be done in a couple of days. When I went back, they put the taps on my shoes but it didn't seem like anything had been done to the other pair of shoes because they fit the exact same. The man at the counter, who wasn't the same person as before, told me that he would try to add more space again and to come back in a couple more days to pick them back up. We'll see how that pair turns out. The shop was neat and tidy though.

However when I brought my shoes in, he took a lil extra glare at the brand name on the shoes and immediately said $20. I said "are you sure?!" He said "yes we have a special cleaner for these. If you want you could buy the bottle for $7. I said " No it's fine " but it really wasn't. I felt I was being overpriced because of my items brand name. I could've taken it the wrong way but I didn't like the feeling of being taken advantage of. I'm definitely going to give them the benefit of the doubt. This incident does not take away the quality of their service which is really good.

He put new heel caps on my vintage pumps, and designer heels, and also saved my favorite boots by replacing the sole with double thickness, replacing the heel cap, repaired damage, and polished them. I thought the boots were beyond repair. Talented, kind, and very professional. All of the work was done for $80 total for 3 pairs! Excellent price for this level of difficulty. I'll return time and time again. He noted that he can repair any shoes other than plastic ones. He gave me a mini tour of his many projects. He can dye shoes too! Additonally, I gave them a black leather fossil bag of which the custom leather straps needed to be completely replaced. They were incredibly fair in their pricing ($25), compared to other reputable cobblers in the UES who quoted me $40. As to their customer service...I've been very pleased. As long as you try to be friendly, they'll be friendly right back. It sounds like the negative reviews were about customer service, rather than work quality, which is unfortunate; at the end of the day, excellent craftsmanship is more important to me than charming service. Interesting fact: when you walk into their store, you will see a TON of dirty looking shoes tossed on the floor...I thought they were shoes from active customers but thank heavens no! The owners receive shoe donations, repair them, and then donate them to charities in Latin American countries. Definitely going to go back because of their reliable service.
