This is exactly why independent craftsmen still matter…read more I originally went in looking for advice on shortening a Montblanc palladium leather belt. Rather than trying to sell me a service, the gentleman took the time to explain how it should be measured, where it should be shortened (from the buckle end), and what the correct finished length should be. He never once pressured me into leaving the belt. I left, thought about it, and came back simply to thank him. When I offered him $20 for his time, he initially refused. I insisted and told him, in my best northern English accent, to "have a beer on me." He was genuinely delighted. That interaction told me everything I needed to know. Integrity, craftsmanship, and old-fashioned customer service are becoming rare, and this shop has all three. If you have quality shoes, belts, or leather goods, this is the sort of place you want looking after them. They've earned a customer for life.

BEWARE - BELIEVE THE LOW RATINGS…read more It is truly disappointing when an establishment has a lack of compassion and customer service. Especially when the establishment is being trusted to handle high value and sentimental items. This is unfortunately what we experienced at Crestwood Shoe Repair. The lack of communication and care for my shoes was not acceptable and truly upsetting. The condition in which I got my shoes back was horrific and the worst part is that the employee who was assisting me made it his mission to hide the condition when handing back my item. What I have experienced makes me question the "skills" & "customer service" that so many of the positive reviews mentioned and I strongly encourage you to take your items elsewhere if you care about them.

Visited to have a quality leather belt shortened. I arrived with a clear request: I wanted the…read morebelt shortened from the buckle end so that the middle hole would fit a 32 inch waist. Rather than measuring the belt with me or confirming the dimensions before making an irreversible alteration, I felt I was met with impatience. When I asked about the measurement, I was simply handed a measure and was expected to work it out myself. I did not feel my questions were welcomed. Because of the dismissive manner, I decided not to proceed and took my belt elsewhere (Crestwood) The second craftsman immediately measured the belt, explained the process, confirmed the dimensions with me, and completed the work professionally. With leather goods, once a belt is cut there is no going back. I believe customers should feel comfortable asking questions before irreversible work is carried out. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here.
