We hired Marla Rutherford to photograph our son's Bar Mitzvah rehearsal (because photographers…read morearen't allowed at the actual ceremony) and his Bar Mitzvah Party in August of 2018. Marla did an awesome job! Her photos were magnificent and we loved working with her. Marla is really an artist in her photography. Also, when staging our family photos, it was very helpful that Marla brought an assistant with her for an hour or so, which made our family shots go much more smoothly and faster. The lighting she created was really beautiful. Unfortunately, for our older son, we had used another photographer two years prior. We loved Marla's work so much more than our former photographer. Marla provided much more value. (The other photographer didn't have an assistant for those family shots) I really wish I had known about Marla for our older son's Bar Mitzvah, and used her instead!! In addition to Marla's great work, her follow up was awesome. I had asked her to stay on me to actually select the final photos and finish the album after the event. I was so happy to have the album in my hands a month or so after our son's Bar Mitzvah. (It literally took YEARS for me to receive my older son's album, even though it was really my fault for not pursuing the photographer. However, the prior photographer didn't pursue me either..... Like all Moms, I was busy and it's easy to let time slide after the event.) Marla, in a friendly way, kept reminding me and we finished it together before time slipped away.
