I am totally confident with their capability in handling all dogs of size and temperament. My dog can be dog-aggressive and right away it was clear to me that there would be no issues leaving him in this home, as they are great at establishing pack order and never allowing a situation to escalate in the first place. It is like having one of those fancy dog hotels right in my neighborhood, but with less stress for my dog, and on my wallet. I shall be using this boarding center in the future.

Our 22 year old cat was slowly declining and we were unsure how to handle his needs - he needed periodic SC fluids injected - while we were away on our long-scheduled 2 week vacation. It was a challenging situation and Colleen came to the rescue - handled injection procedure with complete professionalism - and showed great sensitivity to our cat's special situation. Sadly (but not surprisingly) our sweet old guy died while we were away. Colleen was incredibly kind to us as we absorbed this news, and followed all of our wishes to the letter. She took his body to the cremation center and handled this loss for our family with great grace. Her tenderness and solidness during this time speaks to her capacity for real care. Our other cat, a younger, relational and attention-seeking kitty, was incredibly well cared for in our absence. Colleen texted us an update at every visit - and was loving, responsive, and attentive to both physical and emotional animal needs.

When I had our kids and they suddenly started toddling around, our dog got really scared and Sen helped me develop a plan to keep the dog and toddlers safe without having to rehome our dog. Now our kids are older and through using tips from Sen they have built trust with our dog, and I think that she is having just about the best life she can possibly have. After some bad experiences at other places and trying to trim her nails ourselves, we now drive 40 mins each way every other month to have Sen file/trim our dog's nails - and we wouldn't trust anyone else to treat her with such care and respect. Everyone we meet while waiting there also has nothing but praise for Mister Beever's team, and we have gotten to know several other members of the team who my children (big horse fans) have now come to admire and trust. I always recommend Sen to anyone looking for a dog behaviorist or trainer or anyone who is at the end of their rope with their dog or cat - he's just the best, and his team is amazing. I also want to mention that when we had a family medical emergency a few years ago I asked if we could board our dog with Sen & Alex. Our dog is safe and loved and actually calm & happy sometimes now, which is a miracle, AND I wouldn't leave her with most people because she is still a reactive traumatized chihuahua mix who doesn't do well with change. Sen & Alex didn't have space but said they would work with me to figure something out since they'd known us for so long and I was so panicked about figuring out details. We ended up not having to board her at the last minute, but I was so grateful that despite having PACKED schedules and lives they were willing to help me troubleshoot. Back in 2018, we booked their services for a few weeks while we were planning to travel outside the country. A few months before our trip, my partner suffered an injury at work. Unfortunately, just a few days before we were scheduled to leave, his condition became such that he was no longer able to travel. I contacted Alex and explained the situation--that because of my partner's health and injury, he needed to stay home and we had no choice but to cancel our plans. I completely understand that this is a business and that cancellation policies exist. However, this was a major and very difficult situation in my partner's life, and what disappointed me most was the lack of empathy or understanding. Considering that we had used their services for years, I wish someone had simply called us, acknowledged what we were going through, or expressed some sympathy. Instead, it felt like the response was simply that we had to pay, and that was the end of it. It wasn't just about the money or the cancellation policy. It was about how the situation was handled and the lack of compassion at a very difficult time. After being loyal customers for years, that experience completely changed how we felt about the company. Unfortunately, we would never use their services again.

First of all, I was very very nervous to get a dog walker for my dog Maddie. Maddie has a few issues including defensiveness with people she doesn't know that are attempting to remove her from our home (ei: dog walkers). When I took day trips I left her at the kennel for the day. She hates the kennel and I hated the logistics of transporting her to the kennel so I called Rich after seeing his truck in my 'hood. Our life has been better since. After Maddie's first day with Rich all of my concern was alleviated. He naturally knew how to handle Maddie. Not only does he love dogs but he also seems to speak doggie code. He has responded quickly from his cell phone when I have emailed or called him with questions or to confirm. He speaks human and doggie code! After her first few walks he sent me an email update with a photo - a very nice touch! When I am out of town for work from 5:30 am - 10 pm he walks Maddie 2xs a day and we couldn't be happier. Today he emailed me an update: "She and I decided a slow wake up and cuddle time was truly the best thing for her but once I said, "wanna go for a walk?!" She stared right at the leash and when I got up she bounded out of bed w/o coaxing! That's a first for me and her!" It really doesn't get any better than Oakland Dog Walker!

They genuinely care about dogs and provide the services to reflect that. When we first looked into Pawderosa, Lori called me and we had a detailed conversation outlining how they work and what they could provide for us and our puppy. Then Phil came over to meet our dog so that she would be acquainted with him when he came over the next day. We had just moved into our apartment and they were doing construction across from out unit, so needless to say our pup was a bit frightened (not to mention she can be a big baby anyway). Phil was very patient with her and she slowly warmed up and let him take her on a quick walk around the block. Phil came the next day for her first real trial walk and was not going to force her to come if she was uncomfortable. Our puppy took a few minutes (and a few of Phil's treats!) and went out on the walk and had a great time!! I can tell when Phil is here cause Delilah's tail starts wagging and she is waiting at the door when he comes to get her! She comes home, says hi and goes straight to bed for an afternoon nap! She loves her walks with Phil and Lori and all the doggy friends she has been able to meet. She has learned a lot of training as well and we would not use anyone but Phil and Lori!! A combination of waiting too long to look for a daycare and Sofi's social problems made finding a sitter difficult even using Yelp. After having no luck with the drop off daycare centers, we finally came across Cindy's listing here and luckily she was available and more than willing to help us on short notice. Cindy's approachable demeanor took a huge load off and dissolved all of the stress that had built up.
