Some of the staff can be a bit short, but on the whole they're friendly enough. They've got tables now to make it a little more cafe style but there are some things (mostly beef related) that they don't allow to be eaten in store. Most of their pastries look good and the ones that I've tried are tasty if a little stodgy. Not being close to a tube station, I don't visit that often but if given the chance, they're one of the better bakeries out there.

Nice thing about this place is that they have a large variety of pastries and bread, as well as several big coolers with prepared sandwiches, egg salad, cream cheese, etc., and they don't run out of bread in the late afternoon like some bakeries. Wish I could pay with a car for transactions under 10 pounds though. I don't get why that's such a problem everywhere. I mean, ffs, just charge me the extra 20p for the transactions costs or whatever, don't make me waste 15 minutes of my time walking to a nearby ATM.

These flat breads come in different varieties: filled with spinach, filled with spinach and feta cheese, filled with potatoes, or plain. In fact, when you come early enough in the morning you can still witness a lady preparing these delicious flat breads...and that just smells amazingly! They also offer quite a decent selection of baklava, which I usually can't resist buying on or two pieces...after all, if you're already planning to have a Mediterranean-themed meal, you might as well round it up with some sugary desserts!

Well, this one's a bakery for a start. A long counter runs the length of the shop from front to back, filled with an array of goodies. Breads, savouries and towards the back biscuits and cakes. I didn't get to sample the sweets on offer. A lot of them seem to appeal to the eye perhaps more than refined tastes: decorated meringues and that kind of thing. Go in there with a kid and there's no way you are going to go out with your wallet intact. Instead I got to sample a speciality of theirs: a type of flatbread with a stuffing of my choice. I choose a mix of feta and spinach, but mince and potatoes were also on offer. It was very tasty and filling, I'd go back for another. Also freshly made: a couple of ladies sit by round platforms in the window of the shop making them to order! They have tables near the back of the shop where you can enjoy food and a drink (nice hot chocolate). There are loos, though they are not the best. The staff are friendly. Café standard, but a little different.

If you are one of those people that chooses not to eat bread or cake then this place isn't for you AND you probably aren't for me. Walking in the staff are so lovely and welcoming and make suggestions of bread based on your preferences also giving little tasters so you can try before you buy. I got a 30% rye and it's delicious. I actually enjoyed it so much I had it au natural with a mug of tea when I got home. It's just packed with flavour and so good. With everything freshly baked from scratch on site you really get the best of flavour from the freshness. I also got a slice of banana cake which went down with ease. Will be my regular pre lesson haunt from now on! See you there?

We had their Triple cheese toastie that smelled delicious as it was toasting, tasted even better. My kids proclaimed it better than the cheese toastie in Borough Market! I think it had leeks or spring onions inside. Had the Cardamom roll too which was divine. Grabbed a large Sourdough Loaf for the next day's breakfast! So good! Thick & crusty outside and soft & tart inside. Supermarket bread can't compare. Well worth £4!

My favorite is the macarons though. They have the huge kind, the size of a bloated cookie, and though it's not cheap at more than 2 pounds each, it's delicious and worth it. Everything in their window makes me drool, especially their Frasier cake. It took every ounce of self control to not buy an entire cake for myself. I later bought one of Paul's canvas bags at the Covent Garden location as a souvenir, durable and only a little less than 4 pounds!
