This is one of the only fine dining options in Apollo Bay - even with a captive audience, they do great to keep punters coming back! They have accommodation on site, though we came especially for dinner. For entrees we had mussels and the chargrilled octopus. The mussels were piping hot and delicious - the homemade dip on the side was super tasty! Chargrilled octopus was very tender, seared with tahini and a fun sweet potato and chickpeas combo. I had a seafood soup for mains - this was chock full of great seafood (including half a crab! Yum!) - the broth again was steaming hot - may have continued to cook some of the seafood in the bowl, but overall very delicious. M had the veal which was also pretty tasty. The chips on the side were average, nothing to write home about. Decent selection on the wine list of regional and Mediterranean wines, not many by the glass though. The view must be spectacular during the day, but at night there's not much to be seen. If you are looking for a fine dining option in Apollo Bay, give this place a try!

They also had ginger onion stir fry kangaroo meat which was delicious! But the highlight was lobster. They offer several styles, we had traditional Hong Kong style ginger onion and porridge, both were out of this world good! Waiter was very friendly, even showed us how to crack open the lobster legs. Apparently these lobsters are delivered from fisherman across the street every morning, and tasted sweeter than the Northeastern lobsters we were used to from Boston/Maine. Overall we were very impressed by the food, even the kids loved them! I highly recommend this place if you ever pass thRough this area.

Sure, it is a country pub, but it is one of those pubs located on one of the more touristy parts of the country, namely the Great Ocean Road. There is a rather large outdoor area, befitting of such a pub, and they have some great beers on tap as well. A place well worth checking out, and even stopping by for a drink.
