Both the fish and shrimp were cooked just right, and the toppings brought everything together beautifully. The agua de Jamaica was refreshing and well balanced not too sweet, which I appreciated. The only downside for me was the elote. The flavor was good, but it was a bit too spicy for my taste, and I couldn't finish it. I love heat but it wasn't enjoyable. Overall, a great experience and I'd definitely go back for those tacos again.

We try to visit a different food truck every time visit, so this time we went to La Patrona and we weren't disappointed! I appreciated that they had someone on the sidewalk taking orders and handing out menus for a smooth experience. Their 5 tacos for $10 deal stood out to us, and the quality was great. Very flavorful birria, and the combo Marino had fresh seafood that you wouldn't expect to be impressed by from a food truck! Great drinks and desserts too. They packaged everything securely if you were taking it to go. We would definitely order from them again on a future visit to the food trucks!

It's a well-known spot for locals and travelers, situated off I-95 at Exit 46, and is famous for its diverse vendors and waterfront location. I have been to the Food Paradise truck many times before, but I have never been to this particular truck. Sometimes it is hard to choose a truck because there are so many to choose from. I usually use Yelp to guide me, or I find the truck with the most people or the longest line. On this particular day, there were a lot of people standing in line at this truck, so I decided to go with this one. I ordered Birria Tacos and one Al Pastor taco. The order took about fifteen minutes. The Al Pastor was delicious. The Al Pastor Taco had a nice balance of smoky, spicy, and sweet, with a savory depth. The only thing I would have added was a little more seasoning to the meat, but it was delicious. The Birria Tacos were packed with flavor and meat. The Birria Tacos were deeply savory, rich, with a crispy, cheesy interior and tender meat. The only complaint would be that they were a little burnt on the outside, and they kept the tacos on too long. The tacos were great, and I look forward to coming to try other items on the menu.

Nothing that one could not handle and I asked for it spicy when given the option. Buttery and savory for the parmesan added a nice little touch to my corn.....Need we even discuss the corn game at all? My niblets were crisp and every bite was made for my enjoyment, right out the gate! We only fell short when it came to my steak quesadilla. Not so much the steak itself for it was ok but my cheese was not completely melted and so it changed the consistency of my bite and left something to be desired, yet it was still decent all the same.

When it comes to taco bowls, Trump Grill ain't got nothing on La Carreta…read more While I'm quite aware that taco bowls aren't authentic Mexican food, they're nevertheless delicious. Thus, when I saw that La Carreta offers them, I decided to stop by and try one. The taco bowls that La Carreta serves are generously filled with the meat of your choice, rice, beans, pico de gallo, and guac, and are finished off with drizzles of hot sauce and sour cream and a sprinkling of queso. They're served in a pre-fab fried shell, the bottom of which soaks up their flavors, and the edges of which can be broken off to add some crunchy, carby goodness. While the overall effect is tasty and filling, the ingredients are of the quality that you might expect at a food cart (not exactly premium), hence the imperfect but solid rating. As you also might expect at a food cart, service is quite efficient, down to the payment system (place bills in appropriate cups and take change). Thus, if you're in need of a quick lunch, La Carreta is a great choice.

I remember having a quesadilla at one of the food carts on Cedar St before that was quite good, but there's not much kick or seasoning within the burrito. No taste of onion or cilantro or spicy sauce. I was simply hoping for more since I normally avoid the Mexican food carts in town because the ones by Long Wharf are SO good. Would certainly recommend other carts over this one and going to Long Wharf if you want some phenomenal tacos (more and better food for cheaper).

I had never had Peruvian food before, but I am hooked (at least when it comes from here). They know me by name! I admit, I order the same thing every time, but it is just so good! The spices are phenomenal and the chicken is so tender! the platter comes with rice, french fries, and this addicting, creamy green dipping sauce that is cilantro-y, but has a subtle spicy kick. I LOVE IT!! They also recently gave me a sample of their quinoa. It is light and delicious. Pieces of sweet corn, black beans, and lots of cilantro, which I love in case you couldn't tell. Super yummy! The truck is a little more expensive than the other carts in the Sachem St. area ($10 for my favorite platter here vs $6.50 for lemon chicken platter or ramen from my favorite Japanese cart), but I think it is totally worth it. My priorities are delicious first and price second though. Anyway, you get quite a bit in the platter and it is just so delicious! At the very least, it is worth at least one try!
