The Butcher Board 13oz smoked rib eye, 11oz centre cut new york & 7oz filet mignon

Back at Chop Steakhouse. Had to do a 2nd review to show the Butcher Board. It was great. 13oz smoked rib eye, 11oz centre cut new york & 7oz filet mignon. It also came with some veggies and sauces. It's a great deal! The staff are all so friendly. This time we ate in the Lounge. Watch different sporting events, music, great atmosphere.

Chops was attached to our hotel the Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport Hotel & Resort. And we went there all 5 nights of our stay for a night cap. Sometimes we had food, but really we came here to hang out with Craig and Akbar over cocktails, bottles of wine, tumblers of scotch neat. Their service was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and good vibes always. We talked to them many hours during our stay. Thanks for the memories, gentlemen!

Celebrating my daughter's birthday with family. Reservations made and table was readily available & set. Plenty of parking available - register at the front when greeted for free parking Holly that helped us was readily available and was attentive to our questions and needs. She and the team were great! Drinks, appetizers and entrees came in timely manner. Delicious, fresh and hot. Ambience was intimate with good lightning where it is not too bright or dark, not loud where we can't hear each other talking. Will be back.

Been here a few times before but they've changed their menu for a bit this time. Ordered a Bone-In Ribeye and it came charred and crusted. After my first piece, it felt like I'm eating char and I couldn't imagine eating more. I complained to the manager. He explained that it was their proprietary way of cooking it but was very kind to replace it with another piece, this time cooked to perfection. Service was impeccable. The manager and server redeemed the night without a doubt. I've always enjoyed this restaurant and will come back for more.

Came here for my wife's birthday dinner. The place is nice as there is ample amount of parking as it is part of a hotel. There is free 3 hr parking but you need to use a qr code to add your plate and email. The hostess asked us if we drove and then showed us the little sign to scan the qr code for the parking. The staff are friendly and our waiter was good. He made recommendations for dishes, asked if we need top up of our drinks, etc. My wife's filet mignon was charred on both sides so she had to cut that off as it was too hard to eat. Not good to be that charred for a filet mignon. Mine was charred on one side, the other side wasn't so that side had flavor. The charred side had no flavor other than a burnt taste. The inside was a medium rare so that was good. For a steakhouse, you'd think their steaks wouldn't be charred so much that you just taste a 'burnt' taste.

Stopped here on way to catch flight at YVR. Not a lot of non-ethnic options nearby that are highly rated so thought we'd give the old Casino steakhouse a try. Shockingly, the atmosphere was much more upscale than expected. The food was very good and the service matched. It was priced reasonably, and we were well taken care of... if you are nearby, definitely would recommend. And if you are short on time, for any reason, the bar area is well serviced and we were able to get in and out within an hour without any issue!

Service was friendly. Ordered togo. My only complaint was told 15/20 minutes multiple times and after 45ish minutes I went to check and it was magically coming out. Mashed potatoes were my favorite.. veggies were okay some got cold. And the burger is delicious.. would def eat here again! No pictures from b4 eatting as I was starving.

John was absolutely the kindest manager ever, made me feel so welcomed even though I was dining by myself at the bar. His service skills will draw me to come back and this time with the rest of my crew! The bartender tonight was super kind and observant as well, clearing plates and refilling wine at the most perfect moments. Tuna Tataki is to die for, especially during happy hour. Their happy hour is a smaller selection which clearly features their stand out options. Thanks to the Chop team and can't wait to dine with you again in a couple weeks!! (Picture was from the previous day for lunch on their patio)

Wine list is terrible. And the prices are jacked up. It's a wine list for people who don't love good wine.

Good food and a relaxing atmosphere setting on their deck. We had the ribs and chicken wings. Both were great.

On our visit it was not busy, bso, we were seated immediately. The front of the house staff were welcoming and cordial. We ordered our libations, a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and an Old Fashioned. Both hit the right spot! Next up were the appetizers, charred Brussel Sprouts and Truffle Fries. They were a great way to start this dinner. Seasoned perfectly and quite tasty. Our entrees consisted of a Seafood Cioppino with Salmon, Mussels, and Halibut, as well as potatoes, red onions, and cherry tomatoes. My wife chose the. Grilled Salmon with quinoa, tomato, and a butter sauce. Bother were perfectly prepared and did not require additional seasoning. The Salmon was moist and flaky and the seafood stew right on point. My wife had the Apple Strueddle dessert which was great! I had a taste and loved the mixture of spices. For a hotel restaurant we were surprised at the quality of the food preparation.

The restaurant dining area is fairly typical looking - similar to Cactus Club, Joey's and Browns. Nice enough and well kept, but nothing outstanding. We tried the following items from the Happy Hour menu: - Smashed Avocado Dip: OK. The dip itself was much spicier than expected, so my wife couldn't eat it. The tortilla chips were good, but found the taro chips not so good. - Miso Tuna Crispy Rice: Good. My favourite dishes of the night. Like a regular sushi, but using crispy rice gives it nicer texture and flavour. - Steak Frites: OK. Steak was the right doneness, but not the best quality. Fries were average, and greens were limp. Service was OK. Our server did the minimum, and nothing more. A lot of the staff seemed to be chatting among themselves, instead of providing better attention to their customers. It took awhile to get plate cleared and get our bill. Overall it was OK. We went for Happy Hour to get better value, and we got that. I wouldn't have been very happy if we got the same food at full price.

From the moment we arrived it was a very special experience! Seated with friends in a beautiful alcove with a view of the River. The menu was greatly anticipated. From the welcome to the bread course- oh my goodness can I have bone marrow butter every day?!? It was a feast for the eyes and palate! Lobster and scallop dish with french bubbles, wagyu tartar with a beautiful French Pinot from Burgandy, a clementine palate cleanser that I may dream about. But the show stopper- the A5 wagyu?!? The absolute best ever- we have been disappointed so many times with so called wagyu- this was the real deal- cooked to perfection! And my husband would have eaten the sauce with a spoon!!!! Another fabulous red. Dessert was a magic apple looking Black Forest cake! I am forgetting parts- but the meal and experience was extraordinary! Highly recommend! To be honest - I am bit torn writing this review after going with my best friend for a celebration…read more I am not a big fan of the sales tactic of making a table order drinks - when they seat you they give you the drink menu and say "your food menu will come soon". The problem is ... we were then sitting awkwardly at our table for about 8-13 minutes before we were then given the food menu. We did note that tactic was used for all tables as that must be their servicing house rules and not server specific. While we did order drinks we enjoy them ~with~ our food, they also took awhile to come. You check in at the front and there is a small dining section than mirrored hallway walk to the bigger dining section where you can see the kitchen. I found the plates cheap looking in nature. It didn't match the aesthetic and prestige that this restaurant is trying to uphold. Feels very disconnected in nature. On to the dishes/drinks ordered: Warm bread: expensive at $9. Passable but I imagine people order this while drinking so an easy order for the table. Pork belly: this is S W E E T. While the menu noted it is made with a black cherry gastrique we underestimated how thick and sweet this would be (we had both had pork chop/duck entrees that had or featured a cherry demi glace). It covered the entirety of the tender pork belly and made it unappetizing to us both because of the dessert heavy flavouring was so overpowering. It felt like it was missing the acid/vinegar component to offset the sweetness. When our server checked in with us we were honest with our feedback and he then got the house manager involved and was able to "switch" out the appetizer. They both had recommended the risotto so we went with that in replacement. Risotto: good flavour but even for an appetizer I think it is alarmingly small for the price point. I think the risotto could be offered with a protein and be successful as its own spot for an entree. Roasted beef Wellington (comes with 2 sides glazed root vegetables and potato puree) - this was the main reason and excitement drawing us to this restaurant. It was cooked amazingly. Beautifully tender. Vegetables were just roasted carrots - they were fine but we thought there'd be more of a variety. Potato puree - also fine. Mac & cheese: forgettable. Not sure why there were green peppers in it. Brussel sprouts: good addition. Sticky toffee pudding: great for its sweetness. If I ordered again I would ask for the sauce on the side. Notes from Gordon: tasted very floral and perfume like. I found the presentation a bit too "casual" for $20 A diving bell: spicier than we had thought but it was fine. There were a lot of serves/bussers around and we could tell the restaurant was not particularly busy and because we were seated right beside the kitchen it just felt awkward being around groups of talking staff. This was especially amplified when we had empty plates/drinks to be removed and water glasses that could use refilling but neither were being tended to. One busser served us from the right side moving our lamp out of the way, with her thumb in the veggie bowl and when famously should be done by the left and because we were sitting the closest to the kitchen it felt lazy to serve across us and move the lamp than to come on the "freer" side of the table. Bussers were also not ... pleasant or welcoming? So while we had good service from our server and house server it felt uneven when others were delivering all the dishes monotonously. This did not hit the mark for us at a $325~ dining experience. It left us underwhelmed.
