When to the Richmond Chop steakhouse for a birthday dinner. Parking is easy with a scan code for three hours. Decor is very dark but modern. Large restaurant surprisingly. Once we sat down we were greeted by Lucy our server. She asked if we are celebrating anything and we told her we were celebrating a birthday. Our party of 6 were seated at a long bench table. One disappointing point is that we did not see in the fine print is that the happy hour menu is only served in the bar area. Our mistake since most restaurants have a happy hour menu in the whole restaurant. After ordering we were greeted with a free Amuse bouche of chick pea square with raw tuna and topped with a creama. It was a refreshing start. I ordered the full rack of ribs, my son ordered the steak and lobster and the other four in our party ordered the "Butchers board (which feeds 3-4). $180. Had 13 oz of rib eye steak, 11 oz. of top sirloin and 17 oz of filet minion. Mushrooms, baked potatoes and seasonal veggies. It also came with the trio of sauces. Normally $10. Chimichangas, cilantro lime creama and peppercorn sauce. For appies we had the calamari on the small side, beef empanadas (2) and Birra spring roll(2). Each were $19. The empanadas pastry was great the fill was good but not stuffed as full. Spring rolls were delicious and the calamari was only ok. (On the small size see photos. When the dinner came it was very impressive and we all ate our fill. Te birthday dessert was free and my friend picked the crème brûlée. Very large. The restroom is very dark but spacious. We ordered the combination steak on the board that was pictured in the menu. The food is pretty tasty and the sauces are for the steaks are yummy. The portion is enough for three people. It was nice that the chef himself delivered the food we ordered on our table. The service is great! The ambience was very nice and cozy since it's located away from busy streets. It is a beautiful space , fairly quiet and easy to talk when I was there despite having quite a few tables. All the staff were very friendly and quick. They have a kids menu with a few good options which also came with a plate of fruit to start. We also received a free appetizer , I forget the name but the tuna poke crisps in the photo. We didn't have any drinks but they had a large menu. Tried the steak and lobster , fries and Mac and cheese. One steak was medium and one medium rare , cooked perfectly. Loved the ambiance, bar seating has comfy chairs though they felt a tad tall for me. Friendly staff and yummy food. Though I'm nowhere near being a cheese connoisseur, I do think I'm a huge fan of the french onion soup because of the swiss crust + crostini combo. Smoked ribeye was tender and presented itself with a beautiful crust. Each bite took me to cloud 9 :3 If you've got a little sweet tooth and don't mind the slightest hint of booziness, you've gotta try the pineapple upside down cake, I would loove to feast on that again. Great recommendation by the folks at the Westin! Sat outside as it was a nice day on their patio. There are 3 options of dining. Indoors, the patio and in the lounge. Great menu with ample choices that don't overwhelm you. I had the Birria egg rolls and they were fabulous. I actually recommended that the Birria sauce become a steak sauce. I also tried the mushroom stuffed escargot and was impressed. A must try. The service was amazing and they had a great sense of humor. Can't wait to try it again read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU WANT YOUR EXPERIENCE RUINED. My son took my parents and I here for my birthday. We have been here before and my son really enjoyed it so he wanted to come here for my birthday dinner. We ordered 2 regular prime rib dinners, 1 fillet mignon, 1 French Onion soup and 1 Caesar salad. Here's what happened: 1. Parts of the crust on the French Onion soup came out black. I sent it back and the manager came by to minimize my concerns. Another manager came by to apologize for having the crust burned. 2. My son ordered the fillet mignon medium. It came out well done. The manager came out to apologize again. 3. The replacement fillet mignon came out tartar - seared on the outside, cold on the inside. 4. Same manager came out and deemed it was unaccepted. I asked for the chef. Sous chef came out and apologized. Offered to cook it himself. 5. After waiting 45 minutes for the 3rd attempt at cooking a steak, we decided to pay the bill, tip the server and we left. They didn't even bother trying to fix their first two mistakes. Overall, I would say this was probably the worst meal I've had the displeasure of having at a steakhouse. It was disappointing especially for a chain of steakhouses. My recommendation is do NOT patronize this establishment. You're better off at McDonald's or Wendy's if you want something that is cooked properly. read more

Chops was attached to our hotel the Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport Hotel & Resort. And we went there all 5 nights of our stay for a night cap. Sometimes we had food, but really we came here to hang out with Craig and Akbar over cocktails, bottles of wine, tumblers of scotch neat. Their service was exceptional. Stopped on for a quick bite during happy hour. The service was great. The waitress and waiter were super nice. I grabbed the Canadian Old Fashioned and Chili Garlic Shrimp Appetizer. Been here a few times before but they've changed their menu for a bit this time. Ordered a Bone-In Ribeye and it came charred and crusted. After my first piece, it felt like I'm eating char and I couldn't imagine eating more. I complained to the manager. He explained that it was their proprietary way of cooking it but was very kind to replace it with another piece, this time cooked to perfection. Service was impeccable. Came here for my wife's birthday dinner. The place is nice as there is ample amount of parking as it is part of a hotel. There is free 3 hr parking but you need to use a qr code to add your plate and email. The hostess asked us if we drove and then showed us the little sign to scan the qr code for the parking. The staff are friendly and our waiter was good. He made recommendations for dishes, asked if we need top up of our drinks, etc. My wife's filet mignon was charred on both sides so she had to cut that off as it was too hard to eat. Not good to be that charred for a filet mignon. Mine was charred on one side, the other side wasn't so that side had flavor. The charred side had no flavor other than a burnt taste. The inside was a medium rare so that was good. For a steakhouse, you'd think their steaks wouldn't be charred so much that you just taste a 'burnt' taste. read more

Stopped here on way to catch flight at YVR. Not a lot of non-ethnic options nearby that are highly rated so thought we'd give the old Casino steakhouse a try. Shockingly, the atmosphere was much more upscale than expected. The food was very good and the service matched. It was priced reasonably, and we were well taken care of... if you are nearby, definitely would recommend. And if you are short on time, for any reason, the bar area is well serviced and we were able to get in and out within an hour without any issue! read more

My family visited chop on last Sunday Jan 26, 2026 We checked in at 6:30pm and left around 8:00pm. The food there is OK. The accident happened just when I tried to put on my jacket, the server behind me spilled all the sauce from the cheesecake onto my white color jacket, and then he ran away and didnot notify me what had happened. When I discovered the jacket was all covered in red, the server came back in incident, and told me that was my fault not his, how do one know what's happen behind you. The server is so bad and not a professional. After that Jadyn came by and give me a card for taking care of the cleaning of my jacket. I feel very disappointed about the server's behaviour. I haven't been here in almost 10 years and have been meaning to come back recently. My friend was in town and he was craving steak so we decided on Chop. The space is still nice and current even though there hasn't been any updates to the decor since I was here last. The service by Erica was excellent. She was very attentive, friendly and made great recommendations. There was minor misunderstanding with our appys that got quickly resolved with no issues. The manager on duty also came by to check on us which is always nice and often overlooked with today service industry. The main dishes were outstanding. We both had the smoked ribeye, Chicago-style medium rare. It was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. We opted for the lobster tail as well which did not disappoint. Many times I've ordered this at other restaurants and they usually seem like an afterthought, but in this instance it seemed they paid close attention. It was soft and buttery with no hint of "rubberyness". Overall I would give Chop high recommendations. Just like to start out by saying that the food here is very good. Cooking staff are very good. Trying to get a waitress is another matter. They tend to stand around at one end of the bar with a look that says they couldn't be more unhappy to be here serving people. I'm here quite often and it's not uncommon for the bartender or cook to take your order. read more
