I have lived here my whole life and never visited the Choo Choo Barn before today. At first I was skeptical at how "cool" it could be, especially for $12/person (under 3 is free). However, once you enter the room it is absolutely incredible. The amount of detail that went into this is astounding. There are interactive buttons along the way that do different things. The lights occasionally dim to represent nighttime. I truly felt as excited as a little kid going through this room. My child had a blast as well and loved looking at everything there was to offer. 10/10 would visit again!!

I won't post too many to spoil the magic. Pictures don't begin to do it justice anyway.

While at first, $12 might seem pricey to see a train layout but once you step beyond the curtain, it's pure magic and totally with every penny! There is so much to see, so much animatronics that you'll need to make more than one pass to see everything. The lights periodically go down (representing sunset and nighttime) and you get to see the towns at night. Really amazing!

Three generations of our family has enjoyed this miniature world for more than 3 decades. Every time we go back we see something new or that we didn't notice before. It's very easy to lose yourself in the fun and fantasy of this massive train and model layout. The town and country design comes alive with movement, lights, day and night cycles, and all kinds of activity. It's almost like someone brought The Busy World of Richard Scarry to life. Looking for a challenge? Participate in the Easter Egg hunt challenge and see how many scenes you can spot. This place holds a very special place in my heart. I hope it remains for generations to come.

This was very expensive for what it was. I wouldn't have spent the 12.50 had I know how small it was.

When we first got there, staff greeted us and let us know when the next train was leaving. I hadn't planned ahead to ride this time, but they also told us there's a park a little ways down that's included at no additional cost, which was a really nice option to have. From the parking lot at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, you can actually see the playground behind a fence across the street. Once we walked over, we just took our time looking at the trains up close, passing the shops, and letting the kids explore as we went. The playground isn't huge, but it works. It's not gated, but it's tucked in enough that I wasn't worried about my kids running off. The ground is tire shred (which I prefer over tan bark), and there's seating for adults nearby. Bathrooms are right by the playground, which makes a big difference with little kids. There's also a Thomas the Train LEGO display at the Toy Train Store (not too far from the playground) which my kids loved. Next time, I'll plan ahead to include the train ride, but this was still a really good visit.

A man sitting nearby suddenly yelled at her that she wasn't allowed on the stage. My mom and sister apologized right away, but I jokingly said to my sister, "He probably doesn't even work here." The man immediately jumped into the conversation with an attitude and said, "I actually do work here." The whole interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive from the start. He was dressed in plain clothes with no name tag, uniform, or anything showing he worked there, so there was no clear way for visitors to know he was staff or that the stage was off limits. The situation could have been handled much more politely and professionally. Because of that experience, I honestly wouldn't come back. I also wanted to quickly add that if there was a sign, we did not see it.

There are not enough good things we can say about this driver and this company. Our agency has been taking motor coach tours throughout the country with a variety of motor coach companies since the late 1970s. I cannot speak of the tours prior to 1992, but, in the last 30 years, I do not believe we had a better bus driver than, Dee or a better motor coach. Dee showed superb driving skills with the ability to get to destinations in a timely manner without sacrificing safety and security. While driving Dee was able to provide a safe and comfortable experience for our travelers. She helped the passengers in all aspects of the trip, even when our chaperones were ill and were unable to go along on some spots on this trip. Dee went above and beyond when the hotel our group was staying at let us down. Dee was polite, courteous, and showed a professional manner with all passengers at all times. She was also outgoing and had a personality that kept our tour lively and fun. In past trips we have had very good drivers and drivers that were very personable, but, Dee provided the best combination of outstanding driving and great customer relations. We hope to use Innovative Coach and Dee in the future, Thanks!

The scooter tour is a great way to take this adventure. Single scooters are $69 - $85. The scoot coupes (for two) is $179. There are weight limits on the scooters. You can rent a motorcycle but it seems impractical to keep taking your helmet off and having to balance each time you stop (plus you need a motorcycle license). Everyone gets out of their scooter at each stop. The tour is about two hours. Goggles or eye protection would help. You could also get chilly, depending when you visit. October was gorgeous. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after a train ride, and wow... this place has more than 100 locomotives and railroad cars inside the building. Not mini replicas. Not models. REAL trains. Admission was only $10, and we spent a solid 2.5 hours wandering through--even as total non-train buffs. Train lovers could easily make a full day of it. Staff were friendly, and volunteers were spread throughout the museum to answer questions and share fun facts about the trains, which made the visit even better. Just inside the entrance is a well-stocked gift shop with tons of novelty items and unique finds--definitely worth a peek before you head out. Beyond the trains, there are interactive exhibits--Legos, a mini town with history lessons, and even dress-up spots for kids. It's very family-friendly, but smaller kids may lose steam (pun intended ) walking the long rows of cars. Overall?
