I am not going to detail our choices. There are many choices suitable for every taste. My pro tip: ask what comes with the main dish you are considering. This place is my favorite sushi place is London. I definitely come here wayyyy too much (see…read morepics!). The sushi here tastes closest in quality to those in Japan and is consistent in quality. I find other sushi places in the UK are heavily focused on salmon and tuna of a lower grade. I mean salmon and tuna are good, but not necessarily my favorite of the fishes available. If you haven't explored sashimi and nigiri outside of salmon and tuna, it may take a while to appreciate the other fishes as salmon and tuna are definitely "starter-type" fish when enjoying sashimi and nigiri. The best value set is the Matsu set imo, although it will set you back £20.80 for that set compared to £13.80 for a mixed nigiri or an ume set if you order off the menu. The Matsu set has higher quality fish which more than justify the premium. I haven't found another place in London that offers this amount of variety and high quality fish at a reasonable price. The toro (fatty tuna) here is my favorite, which isn't readily available at other places. As a heads up, this place is more geared for take away than eating in as they only offer limited outside seating. I've taken the hot foods home on a cold winter day, and it's still warm once I'm eating at home. Gyudon (beef bowl) is my favorite hot item and I must say, it beats out Yoshinoya's gyudon which is already amazing! They have another location in shoreditch which has indoor seating if you prefer to eat in. All the staff are super friendly and respectful. Service is pretty fast from order to delivery of food if you order off the menu; if you're in hurry grab the ready go options! Sometimes they have specials - such as a fatty tuna uramaki and seared tuna uramaki which isn't on the menu.

It's not even remotely close to a full service Japanese restaurant. What it is, at least to me, is a quick service, grab 'n go offering some reasonably decent sushi at a very affordable price. They also offer some steam table items to build bento boxes along with a reasonable drink selection. Service was friendly and efficient. Disappointing experience, good food, terrible service, and zero respect for customers…read more We were given a 1h15m dining window, which we accepted. The ordering was slow, and despite writing our order out in the Notes to avoid any confusion, dishes still arrived wrong. It took a lengthy conversation with our server before she even understood what had been sent out incorrectly -- time we simply didn't have. We raised the issue and noticed them we wouldn't be able to finish in time given their mistakes. Their response? After 1h 15min, staff swooped in to clear plates -- while one of our friends was still eating. And they still charge a service fee for this? The food is the one saving grace, but the management is chaotic and the attitude toward customers is unacceptable.

To begin, we shared a bottle of Plum Wine and ordered multiple orders of sushi. We had Spider rolls, California rolls, salmon rolls, spicy salmon a Kama roll, a bento box with teriyaki chicken, a prawn tempura roll, a spicy tuna roll, miso soup, edamame, seafood shumai, chicken curry, deep fried veggie spring rolls, and eel teriyaki. Most of the above items were good with the following notes: I have the shumai regularly in the USA at reputable sushi restaurants and love the shrimp shumai better that these seafood shumai which appears to be a mixture of seafood in a salad form. They didn't taste good at all and weren't very appetizing. The Tuna in the Tuna Roll was an unpleasant dark gray color which I've never seen in Tuna Sushi dishes in the past (usually a brighter reddish color). Maybe it's from a different part of the fish but it sure looks unappetizing and the taste was bland. We didn't finish these. I had to remove stars for the following reasons: 1. A piece of metal in the chicken karrage that was curled up like it came off a wire rack cleaning brush or something. 2. Grisly chicken sent back as unedible by one of my companions 3. The above mentioned unappetizing dishes We complained about the metal piece found in the chicken to the waiter and he brought the manager over who apologized profusely and came back and said he spoke with the chef about this. The manager offered to replace the dish and my companion said no as she was now scared to try any other food from here. The manager ended up comping the bottle of Plum Wine and her damaged food dish. In retrospect, he should've comped us the entire meal. This was not an acceptable occurrence and could've ended up much worse had my companion not seen the piece of metal before consuming the chicken. I hope this is a one off situation and never happens to anyone else.

Vegetables were great, not mushy or underdone! Very good and will definitely come back for it!

They changed our silverware multiple times and even helped put on coats when we were leaving. Super attentive although personally I am fine with more casual/chill. The fish was good quality. So why 3 stars? The food was fine but it wasn't anything too memorable and the prices were ridiculous. Like £14 for a california roll and so on. I'm fine with paying a premium but the fish was just fine. For those prices, I expect something really special. You clearly pay for the service and what not which is fine if that is what you value. But for me, the food was maybe closer to 3.5 stars and the price makes the whole experience 3 in my book. I feel like we could have had a much more memorable meal for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. We did really enjoy the matcha dessert though. Also despite it being pretty late and the restaurant being empty, they were attentive and didn't rush us. We had 2 waiters plus the sushi chef so it was literally 3 employees (maybe more) and 2 of us diners.
