    Pepper and garlic garlands. Beautiful

I'm a fan because of all the places who sell Fuji apples (which, someone please correct me if I'm wrong but these are LOCAL apples) were cheaper than the other stands selling the same Fuji apples! They were huge and delicious. I don't know why there's such a difference in price from one stand to another but if you've got the same stuff, pricing really ought to be the same. In any event, this spot had a great display and loved the pepper garlands hanging around too.

One of the workers was giving out slices of their pears, so I tried a piece. All the workers are very friendly and funny. It was the juiciest and sweetest pears I've ever had. He gave me another slice, but this time he was feeding it to me lol. I tried some of the other fruit stands, but this is the best one at Pike Place. It's expensive, but worth it. I love pears and would love it as a gift! ;)

The options at this grocery store is overwhelming but it's kind of a treat also. There is lots of merchandise that you can't get at any run of the mill grocery store. This grocery store is mainly tuned into Asian shoppers and so you get a lot of merchandise that you don't see in just any everyday place. I heard coming here you can get all kinds of different flavors of Kit Kats and indeed I did find a lot of different ones. I purchased a flavor though that I haven't tried before which made it fun. It was a dark chocolate Kit Kat. But what I unexpectedly found was different Pocky flavors also. The sweet tasting pretzel stick I have had plenty of times with chocolate and strawberry flavors but I found one with fruit (mango) chunks that was a part of the flavor. It was good! Perhaps not my favorite but I'm glad I got to try something new! In addition to that there is something similar to Pocky called Pretz. This is a more savory version of Pocky. I found a toasted sugar flavor which I never came across before and that was good too! So it definitely was a hit coming back again. In addition to the grocery store itself at this location there is a connecting bookstore and a food court. So you could definitely spend a considerable amount of time here! I enjoy the bookstore but haven't tried the food court so that will be yet another visit for another time.

The market features seafood, freshly prepared package , lots of Asian sauces, can and packaged goods and exotic pastries. They are pricy, but not out of line for Japanese and Korean markets.

Unfortunately, this area is one of the rougher parts of Seattle. There are a lot of unhoused individuals nearby, and during our visit, there were people openly using drugs outside, which felt pretty unsettling while shopping. My mom and I have been coming here for the past 10 years, and it's honestly sad to see how much this area has declined over time. We were able to find parking and go inside, but the store itself feels very rundown and poorly maintained. It doesn't seem like there's been much effort put into renovating or updating the space. I wouldn't recommend buying fresh produce here, there were a lot of flies, and overall it didn't feel clean. The store feels sturdy but very old, and the overall ambiance is outdated. If you do stop by, I'd only recommend picking up canned or sealed items from brands you already trust. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this location unless you absolutely need something in an emergency. Lam's Seafood in Tukwila, on the other hand, is much better, it's bigger, cleaner, and feels a lot safer with no major issues in the surrounding area. Compared to that location, I would strongly avoid this one. It's disappointing to see how much it's changed over the years.

They have plenty of fruit and veggies out front and a smaller selection inside. The meat selection and frozen goods are present but not overly large. Prices were very reasonable, as expected, and the gal at the counter was very helpful! They require a purchase of at least $10 to use cards so plan accordingly. Dong Hing is listed here on Yelp, but it is actually located at 1001 S Jackson St. which is about three blocks from Dong Sing. The weird thing about this, is that this store used to be called Dong Hing Market several years ago. Got that? I wonder why each store decided on such similar names because it is confusing to Yelpers. Dong Sing is actually not very big, but it is one market located in the heart of Chinatown/I-District. Produce is piled high on the street for your perusal. Inside the market you will find groceries like you would find at Dong Hing or Hau Hau or Hop Thanh, but they carry a smaller selection due to limited size. They do have a meat and fish counter in the back however. I have found the prices here to be slightly higher than a few of their I-District counterparts, but still better than at a traditional supermarket. Overall, Dong Sing Market is decent and the location makes it worth a visit.
