    Pepper and garlic garlands. Beautiful
    Alicia P.

I'm a fan because of all the places who sell Fuji apples (which, someone please correct me if I'm wrong but these are LOCAL apples) were cheaper than the other stands selling the same Fuji apples! They were huge and delicious. I don't know why there's such a difference in price from one stand to another but if you've got the same stuff, pricing really ought to be the same. In any event, this spot had a great display and loved the pepper garlands hanging around too.

One of the workers was giving out slices of their pears, so I tried a piece. All the workers are very friendly and funny. It was the juiciest and sweetest pears I've ever had. He gave me another slice, but this time he was feeding it to me lol. I tried some of the other fruit stands, but this is the best one at Pike Place. It's expensive, but worth it. I love pears and would love it as a gift! ;)

We should commend surviving even one such struggle, which has decimated other businesses. The overall quality of their meats and their buyer's sourcing has grown better and more consistent over the years, executing a strategy available only to small wholesalers. Not only have this and other small ethnic grocers survived the profound impacts of Reagan dropping enforcement of the Robinson-Patman Act, they've executed remarkable niche marketing Jujitsu where other groceries have abandoned neighborhoods to become food deserts. Across King Street from similar Vietnamese-focused Lam's Seafood and other ethnic shops down King, 好好 retains its old-world, minimal packaging, small-store ambiance and charm. Seattle should honor such astute businesspeople and give kudos to employees who've worked here two decades going.

Also wish I didn't discover it my last night in town because I would have stopped in almost everyday. Huge selection - from health & beauty, dishes, alcohol, prepared food, and just about everything you can imagine from the food side (pantry and fresh). Large produce selection with a lot of items you can't easily find in an "everyday American" grocery store. I also loved they carried salad mixes. The meat and seafood area had great selection and was so clean and fresh! The pantry type items also had an incredible selection. I wish I could have stocked up on so many things. For a quick lunch or dinner, stop by and try some of their prepared food items - great selection and I felt reasonable prices. I loved browsing all the aisles and was so inspired to want to make a delicious meal. Since I was traveling, I could only pick up a few items! Hope when I return to leave some extra room in my suitcase. Great store!

Unfortunately, this area is one of the rougher parts of Seattle. There are a lot of unhoused individuals nearby, and during our visit, there were people openly using drugs outside, which felt pretty unsettling while shopping. My mom and I have been coming here for the past 10 years, and it's honestly sad to see how much this area has declined over time. We were able to find parking and go inside, but the store itself feels very rundown and poorly maintained. It doesn't seem like there's been much effort put into renovating or updating the space. I wouldn't recommend buying fresh produce here, there were a lot of flies, and overall it didn't feel clean. The store feels sturdy but very old, and the overall ambiance is outdated. If you do stop by, I'd only recommend picking up canned or sealed items from brands you already trust. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this location unless you absolutely need something in an emergency. Lam's Seafood in Tukwila, on the other hand, is much better, it's bigger, cleaner, and feels a lot safer with no major issues in the surrounding area. Compared to that location, I would strongly avoid this one. It's disappointing to see how much it's changed over the years.

Dong Hing is listed here on Yelp, but it is actually located at 1001 S Jackson St. which is about three blocks from Dong Sing. The weird thing about this, is that this store used to be called Dong Hing Market several years ago. Got that? I wonder why each store decided on such similar names because it is confusing to Yelpers. Dong Sing is actually not very big, but it is one market located in the heart of Chinatown/I-District. Produce is piled high on the street for your perusal. Inside the market you will find groceries like you would find at Dong Hing or Hau Hau or Hop Thanh, but they carry a smaller selection due to limited size. They do have a meat and fish counter in the back however. I have found the prices here to be slightly higher than a few of their I-District counterparts, but still better than at a traditional supermarket. Overall, Dong Sing Market is decent and the location makes it worth a visit.
