Address and front of store, other end of Cattle Company...

From the outside, the inide has lots of boxes all over. Dragon's Layer has a back room and not clutter the place up. However, they received a new shipment of items. No clear signs of "Choice Comics," Lots of Football-Baseball-Basketball-Hockey-Wrestling fan fare figurines. A small comic section and large bubble gum cards section. It is a large store with comic book section in the back, but closed. They have their own schedule and do restock on certain days. They require masks of customers and provide hand sanitizers. It seems there's a high demand for Pokémon Elite Trainer Champion Cards game box. There are two hologram cards worth $300, but cost $85 + tax. I opened all cards and got one of the $300 rare card! So, my ROI was $212...not bad?! Plus, I have five other rare hologram cards. I'm stoke...woo hoo! What luck?! But, I'm sure you can get the box for far far less! Check it out!!!

Must be a rip in the time stream the Avengers fail to fix. So I guess we start all over. Located right above Queen Street Cafe and Grill (I know you read that review), is the place. Just cut this place into three sections: 1) Comic book rack and past issues. Selection is very limited with both present and past issues. They do have supplies like backing boards and sleeves. 2) Model/toy racks and shelves. This takes up a majority of the place. Mini figures, action figure, playing cards, models. They are here. 3) Gaming Table. After being shut for over a year, they are open. I don't know anything about gaming so you have to ask them. Overall four stars. I like the place but when it's windy and doors are open the comic books will be moving around. Now excuse me, kid and me have so reading to......before it disappears. M

The comic selection is also as expansive if not more and I'm sure the same goes there just don't expect a lot of retro since they did mention to me stuff like dark horse Star Wars comics are too hard to find and keep in so I assume other retro ones are the same way. Thankfully 808 Collectibles had just what I needed, so I made it into a Sunday afternoon adventure to come in. This is a small shop located in a mall building along Kamehameha in Pearl City. It's across from Pearl Highlands Center, but it's easy to get to from either side of the road. They have limited parking in front shared with a small shop, bar, and a few other businesses. This shop is on the second floor, toward the left. The owner Art (Arthur) was super friendly on the phone and got back to me quickly about what I needed. On arrival he was recommending different comic stories to a customer. There was a steady stream of people coming in, so I assume he has some regular customers. Every inch is filled with comics (new and older ones), Funko Pops!, and various collectibles and statues. Prices are clearly marked; he takes cash, Venmo, and credit. If you're a fan of pop culture and other fun things, this is a worthwhile place to stop. I hope to come in again soon.

Small comic/collectible shop in Mililani…read more Came here when they were hosting a Dungeon's and Dragon's event our kids were attending. Love that they partner/support community events like this. The place is small but packed with lots of interesting merch. I have zero knowledge about comics, games, anime, toys, cards, etc. but my kids' eyes lit up when they entered and my youngest couldn't leave without buying an anime plush. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Located in the Mililani Shopping Center. LOTS of parking. Support local businesses.

NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN!!!…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but this needs to be documented. At Dragon's Lair in Mililani, my daughter purchased a $15 pin with her own pocket money. It broke after only three or four days due to poor assembly. When she politely returned to ask about a replacement, the owner, Lucas, spoke to her with extreme verbal abuse, profanity, and personal insults until she left in tears. When I addressed the situation calmly, he stated that he did not care that he had made a child cry and continued speaking aggressively. This is not about a refund policy. A business can choose its policy. This is about basic conduct toward a minor and a customer. We have supported this store many times, but after this experience, we will not return. Families in Mililani should know how customers, including little children, may be treated here. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable bringing my child back into this store.

This store has absolutely everything from comic books, collectibles, MTG/TCG, D&D items and books, Warhammer, and also board games. Honestly if you are into any of those then this place is the place to come to. The absolute widespread level of inventory is only matched by how friendly the staff is and how comfortable of an environment they've created to spend your time there. They even put on events on nearly a daily basis depending what you're into. Pricing is very reasonable and I do majority of my shopping here as it is extremely competitive with online pricing. Not to mention being able to find the product that you're looking for locally is hard to find for most shops. The gameplay areas of the store are clean, tidy, and do not smell (yes... we know the stereotype of hobby shops). Plus they're always willing to spend the time to explain and help you get into any of the games they sell. I haven't played MTG for decades since I was a child and they were so kind to take me thru the differences from what I knew then to the large and vast game that it has become. They also make it simple to sign up on their website for Prerelease events and specialty game nights. I'm so glad to have found a store that has a staff that is passionate about the games as much as its customers. Thank you so much for having such a great shop to keep coming back to.

It turned out to be in Downtown close to Chinatown. While it doesn't have the scale of the Last Bookstore, this store shares some of the unique design elements of its SoCal progenitor like curving shelves and large vinyl collection. A broad scan of the books on display reflects titles that seem more avant garde than more commercial curations with sections devoted to science fiction, horror, true crime, and rock music. Jamie found an existential book about his favorite band called "Queen and Philosophy" (Photo 9), while I bought an intriguing manga cosplay history book called "Otaku Japan" (Photo 5). We probably could've spent another hour in here, but we had manapua on our minds. RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://yelp.to/n9JWu5nlzl

The store blends two cultures that often go hand in hand: underground literature and vinyl records. The space itself feels very curated. Instead of a large commercial bookstore layout, the shop has a smaller, more intentional selection of titles and records that reflect niche interests, counterculture themes, and independent publishing. It feels like a place built for people who enjoy digging through shelves to discover something unexpected. One of the highlights is the mix of books and vinyl. The store carries everything from rare or independent books to records that span multiple genres, which creates an environment where music and literature intersect. Browsing through the collection feels more like exploring a curated archive than a traditional retail store. The atmosphere fits well with the Chinatown neighborhood. Bethel Street has a strong creative and artistic identity, and Skull-Face Books & Vinyl contributes to that scene with its alternative aesthetic and independent spirit. What stood out most to me was how personal the shop feels. Independent stores like this often reflect the personality of the people behind them, and that character comes through clearly in the selection and layout. Overall, Skull-Face Books & Vinyl is a great place to explore if you are in Chinatown and enjoy independent bookstores, vinyl records, and creative spaces that feel a little different from mainstream retail shops.

The owner greeted me right away with that warm, aloha spirit energy. No attitude, no long drawn-out process. She got straight to scanning my old dusty books while I waited, and when she was done, she texted me -- yes, texted me -- to let me know. Walked up, got my receipt, got my quote. Super professional, super smooth. Here's the best part: while I was waiting, I browsed around and found three gifts for my grandchildren that I knew they'd love. So in one trip I freed up a ton of space at home from books that had been taking up way too much room and knocked out some gift shopping. Win-win-win! The whole setup is easy too -- rolled the carts right from my car into the store, no stress. My friend was chillin' in the massage chair outside the whole time, so nobody's time was wasted. I was originally just gonna dump everything at Goodwill. So glad I didn't. I'm already planning to come back with my old DVDs and CDs just sitting my shed in the backyard. If you've got stuff collecting dust at home, bring it here first. You might walk out with cash in your pocket and a smile on your face. Highly recommend. 5/5, no question!
