The irony was that after seeing those beautiful pictures and video, my family and friends were trying to talking me into keeping the place. Emma was an enthusiastic cheerleader and supporter to us along our wedding planning journey. Emma is very responsive, enthusiastic, detailed and creative, and helped us accomplish a fantastic wedding day.  Emma helped us identify creative ways to replan our wedding during COVID19, and was incredibly flexible as our plans changed multiple times. We ultimately were able to get married in a small ceremony at Starved Rock State Park in IL, and Emma went above and beyond and drove out there a few weeks before the wedding to scout out some beautiful spots for photos.  During our wedding day, we had photography services with Emma and videography services with her colleague Carlos. Their team helped us feel excited and confident throughout the whole wedding day. Emma's positivity and energy helped us have SO much fun during our photo sessions. Carlos was able to creatively capture video from the full day and we were so impressed by the sound and visual quality of the videos. Emma captured the colors, joy and essence of the day in her photos. Looking back at the photos and videos brings us and our families so much joy. Emma and Carlos sent us highlight photos and a highlight video in just a couple weeks (we paid extra for expedited delivery) , and then the full set of photos and the full video came to us a couple months later. We LOVED working with Emma and her team, and we definitely recommend her for anyone in the Chicago area. Well worth the money! P.S. However, Lynzie was always so responsive and understanding throughout the changes we had to make. It took so much stress off our backs. Even the week before the wedding, we changed our timeline a bit and added some time to the day. While she was not available for our 2021 date, we had the absolute pleasure of working with Maria, G, and Randy. Together they were able to capture our wedding through photographs and video. We received the sneak peaks and the full gallery soo quickly! The photos left me completely speechless. I am so honored to have been able to have Bonphotage be apart of our day. These photos and videos will last us a lifetime and always remind us how perfect May 1, 2021 was. I would recommend Bonphotage 1000%!! And I will be planning on using them 5 or 10 years down the road for vow renewals :)

Update April 2026* Updating to 3-stars I originally gave Bonphotage a 5 star review immediately following booking and our engagement photo session. The things I said were true up and we were happy at first. In hindsight I should've provided an updated review sooner brides have one chance to get this right so they should be making decisions off of comprehensive reviews. The engagement photos were great at first glance but they came out so grainy that when I tried uploading them to Minted for our save the dates, they were flagged as low-res when we received the prints they still looked unclear and we ended up having to redo/reorder our save the dates. Lynzie insisted this level of grain was normal for film, but my photographer friend who I went to for advice disagreed (also I have eyes). At this point she also informed us that she was not able to shoot our wedding, but we ended up working it out and met Serena who reshot our engagement photos in digital and also shot our wedding whom we enjoyed working with. We were generally content with the wedding gallery, but the editing was inconsistent it looked like there was a preset/filter applied across the board, which she denied doing. There was some back and forth and she adjusted a few specific ones that I requested, but by this point I just didn't care anymore as I was just so over it as most brides are by the time their wedding is over. At this premium price point I just expected better quality.

Months ago, when the bride and groom were planning the wedding, I went along with them for their first meeting with Presidential. All three of us agreed: their portfolios were beautiful, and within a half hour we had the best feeling about them. There was no doubt they could be trusted to do a great job on the big day. After seeing firsthand their devotion, warmth, and professionalism, I recommend Presidential Photography to anyone who's lucky enough to land a date with them. Once upon a time, I took an intro photo class at the Yale School of Art with a teacher I will never forget, who is a big-time fine art photographer. Alisha reminds me a lot of her. She has that magic quality of being able to put people completely at ease. She is obviously a naturally visual person and will capture those photos that other people don't even see. You can tell she is in the business because it's her passion, and you can't fake that. You could look at a half-dozen different photographers and go on and on weighing the pros and cons, but let me save you the added stress. I spent the whole day with them and the bridal party, and they actually enhanced the mood. If you didn't know better, you would have thought they were old friends of the bride and groom. How often do you hear people say that about wedding photographers? If you're considering Presidential, go for it. They're amazing.

She brought an assistant, Mysi, to the wedding and the two of them were both professional and artistic. There were so many candid moments I missed in real time but Eva and Mysi captured beautifully. Their photos are truly treasures to us! During the course of a hectic wedding, there are a lot of group photos that one might not think to request at the time but that family members would want later (for example I've heard a horror story of a photographer forgetting to include the groom in the bride's family photo). Eva was super organized and made sure that we got all of the photos that we could possibly want to ensure that everyone would be happy. She even called us a few days before our wedding to gather groups of people and their names to call out during the wedding. Eva sent us the photos sooner than we expected her to in both an online gallery and digital copies on a thumb drive. The photos were in folders organized by category such as "Details," "Highlights," "Ceremony," etc. This made it convenient for me to go back later and find particular photos.
