And finding the perfect photographer (within budget) was a definite stressor! We've met with several photographers and at the end of the day, we felt most comfortable with Maddie. And not to mention, all of her photos felt natural and light, NOT full of your typical prom poses of "stand here, put your hand here, look in this direction." In all three of our events, Millicent displayed a strong passion and vision through her creativity and organizational and professional skills. For the most part, we provided her with our own ideas and locations. In areas where we needed suggestions, she was quick to provide and improvise. We provided a general schedule for our events to ensure we do not go overtime. Millicent was on top of the schedule and did not rush the process even when we went slightly overtime with the engagement photo shoot due to the gloomy, rainy weather and busy weekend traffic. In fact, she remain composed and was dedicated to taking the best shot at the best angle even if it meant she had to get drenched in the rain. Last but not least, Millicent was very punctual in responding to our e-mails. The Floridian in me was not going to take pictures outside in February so we decided to find another option with natural light: The Garfield Park Conservatory.* The Conservatory proved to be the perfect location for photos and Shannon turned out to be the perfect photographer. She had a great eye for what backgrounds would work in the conservatory, was fun to hang out with for an hour and was great with our little one. At one point she asked if she could take Baby R away from us for a few minutes so she could get a few good shots of her not hanging onto me (we have a bit of a separation anxiety problem). I replied "not well, but she seems nice and hopefully won't steal our baby." She returned minutes later with our smiling baby...phew!
