Then I ended up in the hospital with severe pancreatitis right before my consult with him. When I went to cancel he so kindly offered to take out my gallbladder and also was the only one in my 3 years of searching for answers to diagnose my "hernia" pain as a large endometrioma. That alone was worth seeing him for! He did a fantastic job on my surgery, took the time to speak to me and my husband prior and answer questions. His office staff have been genuine, kind and helpful. I'm so thankful to him for helping me.

He had poor bedside manners. He belittled other doctors and he undermined my genuine concern. I asked him if he would be doing my surgery in entirety by himself or if there are residents/trainees involved since I do not wish the residents or fellows to do any surgery on me. I understand teaching hospital and I understand training but in this particular surgery I did not wish trainees to work on me. I am scared of robots and it's personal. He could have said sorry my trainees depend on me to teach them and all patients of mine have trainees experience. I would have said thank you but no thanks and left. But instead he started using cutting remarks and mocking my intelligence as well as my concern. He said " residents come and go. It's not that I would leave to have tea with one of your colleagues while residents are doing surgery ". All I wanted was him to tell me if it was possible to not have any trainee at the console of da Vinci robot during the length of the surgery because I as a patient am not comfortable otherwise. Was I asking for too much? And he could have said no and we would have parted ways and I would look for another surgeon. But he had to be sarcastic and demeaning.

I made an appointment in July to purchase a laser package. I made the package purchase. I wasn't treated the same day. The did not ask for an office visit fee. The appointment was on the 15th. 5 months later I am contacted. I have had two treatments, and a balance was never mentioned nor have I received a bill. When calling the office speaking to someone is not an option. It is very difficult to respond to unanswered phone calls, robotic and anonymous text messages sent by a nameless individual. This is so nonprofessional. Then I was texted that if I wanted to speak to someone on the phone, I had to make an appointment. I work as well, and my time is limited. I was sent a coy of a service ledger. I asked did I have to pay for coming to the office and purchasing a package no response. So, it appears that I am being charged an additional office visit fee when I come in for a treatment which is prepaid for. Wasn't the office visit for a 20 min treatment one and the same? This is a first. I have never gone to a dermatologist paid for a treatment and had to pay an additional separate office fee. I was told that they were behind in billing due to the holidays (the 4th of July). The holidays just began. I try to patronize my own and there is always an issue.

In my 46 years of life, and the many places I have lived, I have NEVER had a better experience at a…read moredoctor's office than I did today at Be Well Medical Center. It is, quite literally, the kind of place I have been looking for my whole life. Upon arrival, I was received pleasantly by the ladies in reception. My wait was short, and then Scott, who was just the most lovely human, triaged me and escorted me into a room where just moments later, my P.A. Lee came in and began talking to me about why I was there. I got introductions. I got time to explain my concerns and ask questions. I was listened to, and all my thoughts were validated and responded to. I felt like Lee and I were BOTH advocating for my wellness, as a team! My experiences at other doctor's offices in the past had always left me feeling rushed, unheard, and "quick fixed", which usually resulted in a prescription or two -- in and out -- despite my genuine desire to actually take an active role in my own wellness, including diet, exercise, supplements, hydration, etc. Not at Be Well! Here, Lee spent time with me, learned a little about who I am and how I view my wellness and my treatment, and worked with me inside those parameters. He was intelligent, laid back, easy to talk to, and professional. I felt this was the norm at this office and I feel reasonably sure that would be the case with any P.A. or doctor that works here. Lee approached the situation methodically, and we created a plan for testing and treatment. I left the room feeling confident that I was in good hands and that the plan would yield helpful information, as well as potential solutions. Check-out was as quick and easy as check-in was, and on my way out, I heard a voice call out to me, "Wait, don't leave yet! I turned to find Dr. Benson following me and offering a red carnation. "Happy Valentine's Day!" he said. Completely brightened my day and made me feel like more than just a patient. I cannot recommend Be Well Medical Center enough. I am so glad my cousin referred me. I am grateful to be under the care of people who actually care.

Crazy what happens when a Dr actually listens to what the patient says the first time. The only follow up I have received from the office was a long letter from Dr Bornstein, condescedingly defending himself on all accounts, and once again gaslighting me to think I'm wrong. He ended the letter asking me to "take down my review". Then today, I got a giant bill, for charges dating back to January of 2025. Claiming my insurance didn't pay for me to have a covid or influenza swab. Charging me $75 DOLLARS just to "handle a covid specimen". I'll take it up with Cigna, since I'm certain these charges are incorrectly billed. But I will say, a billing person from the Be Well office called me a while back claiming they "didn't have record of my insurance at that time" and they only had my new one on file, wondering if I could send them the info. Even though they've billed the one they claim to not have, for other various visits. This is the first bill I've gotten from them in I can't even tell you how long. So clearly, this was dug out of their backlogged archives and compiled because they don't like my review. Bottom line, this place is an absolute mess. Spare yourself and find a doctor's office that you can trust to pay attention to your symptoms, not lose your information, and own it when they do something wrong and someone calls them out on it.

OK, I feel obligated to leave a review for Elite Vein & Hair Restoration, not necessarily for the…read morebusiness but for the guys like me who are shopping around for the proven best results, and if possible most affordable for the type of procedure we need. I have had three total procedures done in my lifetime, one 20 years ago, with Bosley(strip method, 800 grafts), one almost a year ago, again, with Bosley(2nd strip method, 800 grafts) and this one recently from Elite Vein and Hair(FUE 1200 grafts). I decided to go with the FUE(NeoGraft) this time because I didn't want to keep getting strips of my scalp cut out and have that scar get even longer across the back of my head. Once I decided to do the FUE I found about 4 reputable places, with enough online presence, that did it around the Detroit area. I called one and never heard back from them, Bosley was around $4200 for the 800 graft strip method and A LOT more for the FUE, nearly the same for MHR(Michigan Hair Restoration). I decided to take a chance with the (way)lesser known Elite Vein and Hair after looking at the before and after photos on their Facebook page AND after my consultation. The clincher was when the rep(her name was Nada) told me that they would do the 1200 grafts, NeoGraft FUE for LESS than I had gotten the STRIP method done with Bosley with only 800 grafts! What! I realized they weren't one of the "top dogs" out there so I "felt" like I was kind of taking a risk, I mean, "Elite Vein"! I am here to share with you that this place was just as professional, clean, friendly staffed and even had something that Bosley didn't, the ARTAS robotic FUE. I'd really like to outline every detail that happened for you guys but I don't have that kind of time BUT I will give you some noteworthy highlights. They were VERY patient, I never felt rushed. They redrew the hairline a few times before the procedure until I was happy AND they followed that hairline perfectly. Even though I had considerably more hair loss on one side the Bosley doctor quickly jabbed away with his scalpel 400 times on EACH side. The Elite doctor actually took the time to study my hair growth and made his jabs accordingly, lots more on one side than the other, big props! One of the two doctors who placed the grafts was so detailed and really took his time, I think he only took one few minutes break for the many hours I was there, he even ended up staying and putting some of the extra grafts he had into my scar from the previous procedures to help hide it, I mean, he could have not said anything and went home to his family and I would have been none the wiser... THAT'S integrity! One more thing, they gave me free PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma) injections, that they centrifuged from my own blood before the procedure and injected into my scalp to increase blood flow and help with hair growth, AND they sent me off with a healing and moisturizing spray made from the same plasma! I will be uploading the before and after photos after the grafts start growing out in about 2 more months. They took photos before, immediately after and at 10 days and I will include those as well so you can really get an idea as to what this FUE looks like... I will close by saying that if you are on the fence do yourself a favor and schedule a consultation with Elite Vein and Hair, what do you have to lose besides more money if you select one of the more advertised and overpriced competitors? Oh yeah, one final note, the main doctor who performed the procedure had worked for Bosley for over 9 years I think he said and also for MHR, so that was funny...

I'm so glad that I did this for myself and even more excited to hit the beach for my vacation coming up!!!! One of the things that I was impressed with at Elite Vein Center was the time that the staff took in explaining each step - Dr. Hakim was equally wonderful! Honestly, I paid nothing out of pocket the procedure was completely covered under insurance. Not all insurance programs do cover this procedure but the staff will give you that information after the consultation.
