Ojibwa played a large roll in my life. I still consider those summers as a camper as some of the best times of my life. It's one of the experiences that I could share with my family members who also went, which I always really liked about it. The camp is competitive, but I felt that it helped prepare me for what is a competitive workplace and competitive world. I learned life lessons, learned to sail, learned to win gracefully, learned to lose with honor, and learned that I still wish every week were Collegiate Week. Oh and I won in '91. :P Something I still consider to be one of my great life achievements.

The staff is great. The food is great, The counselors are amazing. The scenery is the best in WI. The camp is run so well. My son went to a different camp this year because his friends wanted him to join them. The camp was very sad compared to Manitowish and run very poorly. So when you have something to compare it to Manitowish looks even better. Also, they have great scholarships if you are in financial need! Big bonus. These camp memories will last forever!

The family just talked to each other, ignoring us for the most part, then when it was time for the ride it was once again a family affair, half the ranch family going on the ride with us and ignoring our group. Half of our group was inexperienced, but got barely any attention or direction. I definitely do not reccomend this place.

On a beautiful September day we went up there from Wausau for a one hour horseback ride. Great…read moretime had by all three people in our party! The 4 foreign exchange students who also were there seemed to have a good time. One person in our party had never been on a horse before. We left the lovely stable area and proceeded to go by corn fields and through some woods. The terrain was gently roll ling in places. The horses trotted in a few places but the gait wasn't too much for anyone to handle. The experienced riders (three of them) who accompanied us were friendly and helpful. They helped us take pictures afterward. The owner was very pleasant and discussed her love of horses with us. The other owner who was in the store was very pleasant also. Their Western Wear and Tack Shop is well stocked. It looks like a great place to get gifts for the person who loves horses or western gear. There are some very nice cowboy boots and hats. Oh the cost for this excursion was well worth the money: $21/person.
