I was able to sleep better, maintain an appetite, and break free of chemo-brain. It wasn't supported by insurance but a wise investment nonetheless.

The surgery made it worse. My knee swelled up to twice the size of my left knee and left me in more pain than I had before the operation. After several months I went back to the ortho doctor and he gave me three options: live with the pain, get a cortisone shot every couple months or have a knee replacement. I didn't like any of the three. I was researching knee replacement and ran across a website for stem cell therapy. I made an appointment and long story short, took the treatments and it helped for a while then the pain was back. I decided to get a knee replacement. My wife had a bad car wreck in 1998. She has had several surgeries on her back and neck. The result has been chronic pain and neuropathy for years. It was so bad she couldn't hardly walk. Every year she felt like she was dying a little more. She started losing feeling in her feet and limbs, stayed swelled up all the time. She has been on pain meds for 15 years and they have slowly increased because the pain level has increased with age. She got a tip from a friend to try Dr. Kwan, after the first treatment feeling started coming back in her feet. She has gone once a week for several weeks and it's amazing the changes I have seen in her, she can walk without being in pain. So back to my knee replacement. Mary told me please try Dr, Kwan first. I reluctantly agreed. One of the best things I have ever done. I have had three treatments, the swelling is gone and the pain is greatly reduced. Dr. Kwan and his wife are amazing and wonderful people. So full of compassion and wanting to help people in pain. Thank you for what you do.

They told me to get undressed (they didn't tell me what to take off) and didn't even give me a blanket. I had to find it. Dr. Beth Sherer only put Acupuncture needles in my on the top of my head because I asked (she was giving me Acupuncture for Anxiety, and this is where you're supposed to put the needles mostly ) she said "oh I thought I couldn't put them there because of your hair claw." I think she was just trying to save time. Another Acupuncturist I had just asked me to take the hair claw off. It was more painful than other places I've been to. I laid there with the needles in for 20 minutes. That is the minimum. I told her I had chronic pain and 20 minutes for that is not enough according to my research (see phorltot). I think this place mainly serves veterans :) which is great because it's covered 100% for them. I had to pay $60. She definitely put the needles in the right spots because I felt relaxed afterwards, but mostly the loud music and the long wait (1 hr) turn me off. Disclaimer: if you're not sensitive to loud music, it won't be a problem for you, but I would think a lot of veterans are coming because of PTSD and chronic pain and loud music is just not calming for some people. Usually with body work/alternative medicine, there's very calming music in the background. I think the music was loud because the atmosphere seemed so hectic with so many people coming and going. I'd say it's a good deal if you get the bundle with the chiropractic and you don't mind a long wait and loud music. One last huge drawback was that the person taking the needles out couldn't find them all!! that's a red flag. I don't want to be walking out of there with a needle in me or touch it accidentally with my hand - that would really hurt. So, Acceptable but not good, but FREE for Veterans
