She got straight down to business, instructing both his dietary and supplemental regime, and I wasted no time in following suit. Fast forward 3 months after his echocardiogram at his follow-up of the same, his Cardiologist was so impressed that she actually signed off on all his heart supplements that Lori advised. Opportunistic overcharging business warning- Mount Tabor animal Hospital Winston-Salem, NC…read more While this office provides good medical care, be warned: their pricing is anywhere from double to 1,000% higher than other local clinics. It is deeply disappointing to see a veterinary practice take such financial advantage of pet owners. My puppy was taken in due to the regular vet being closed for the day after her spay procedure opened in two places, explicitly asking for staples to be replaced and antibiotics given. Without my consent, they removed and replaced all of her prior closures entirely. While the medical work was done well, they charged me double the cost of the entire original spay procedure just to close the wound ($500). They even tried to charge me for an e-collar, despite her being dropped off wearing one. In another instance, they charged me well over $2,000 for a procedure to remove two tumors. When the cancer unfortunately recurred, my new vet performed three tumor removals for just $250 total. After taking my dogs here for years, switching to a new vet opened my eyes. I learned this office had been pushing unnecessary care, like a Bordetella vaccine for dogs that are never boarded, and even trying to pressure my mother into a livestock-contact vaccine her dog didn't need. This business has clearly shifted its motivation from animal care to extreme profit margins. Please shop around and do a cost comparison before bringing your pets here. Shame on you for taking advantage of people who just want to care for their animals.

She proceeded to explain that they do not see emergencies and told us she would email us a list of other vets in the area. My husband (who is in the medical field- and, even though his office is not 'set up' for emergencies- he will always see a patient in pain), asked if someone could take just 3-5 minutes & triage her in the back of our car, because she was in so much pain-she's a big Newfie and wasn't able to walk) Jackie said no. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed. So we went to Pressly Animal Hospital and were accepted immediately. As soon as we walked through the door, Dr. Pressly took her into the back, did x rays and showed them to us, explained everything and we decided on a plan of action. They also followed up throughout the day and the next morning. So, please be aware. As much as we really like Dr. Miller, Miller Animal Hospital will NOT see your animal in an emergency. They will NOT be there when you really need them.....even if you've been faithfully singing their praises and giving them your business for 13 years. Our new vet is Dr. Pressly and we'll not be going back to Miller Animal Hospital.

For the past month I have reached out multiple times to get appointments for our dogs because their hair was getting unruly. We tried many home remedies including the ones they recommended for brushing but it was not enough and they did need professional grooming. I reached out for 4 weeks to try to get them an appointment with this business because I really do like the work they have previously done. After a month of trying to get appointments we finally did. Great no big deal at all I was very understanding. My husband brought them at 10 am and was told they didn't have an appointment however they did. The messaged me saying it would take till 5-6. No big deal was very kind about that was well. 7 pm rolls around they still need more time. Again didn't make a fuss about it. Finally at 7:30 they call and my husband leaves. He gets there and they claimed they needed enough half hour. Again no problem he goes gets gas comes back and waits. Then an hour comes by. So I call letting them know I find it unprofessional they way they treated us this past month. The manager got very angry and said "It's free for you. Just come get your dogs" and hung up. I thought that was rude but left it be. Here's where the problem started she yelled at my husband in his car and said come get your fucking dogs, called him a pansy, and claimed we abuse our dogs. Our dogs are so loved and anyone who knows us knows that. They are spoiled rotten. After this I'll attach below the horrible messages they sent me. To add my dogs came home and were shaking, starving, and dying for water. I'm saying all of this with true sadness as we ADORED this business and wanted to continue using themWe are huge animal lovers and have never neglected, hurt, or done anything to our dogs. Without them being plucked it is harder for the medicine to reach her ears. And out of their own mouth we were told that Remi has the hardest coat to deal with for poodles and it was obvious that she was brushed and taken care of but there is matting underneath we cannot see because how hard it is to get to it. I texted at 2.5 hours to inquire about how long it would be and received the message that they were running behind. At 4.5 hours I went to the shop. Two employees were at the desk and I ask the employees that if they are running behind that they text me and let me know. The employees stated they had a dog that tried to bite them. I said I understand but I just ask for the courtesy of being contacted if they are late. She said they normally ask for four hours to groom the pets. I told her he is never there for four hours, he is usually ready in 2 hours. She then told me she was going to get the owner. I told the owner, Tina Shuping, that I simply asked for the same courtesy that she requested if I'm running late or cancelling an appointment that she wants to be contacted. She charges a fee if the customer is late ( which I think is reasonable as people's time is valuable). I only request the same..: to be notified if they are behind. I understand about running behind every customer is not the same. She responded that it seemed like I "didn't care about them...pardon her if she took time to shit and piss"( her words not mine). I told her I understood but again I simply ask for the same courtesy to be notified instead of just waiting around for them to call me. She then stated if you can find someone that grooms your dog as good as I do, then use them. She then put her hands in my face and told me to leave her shop. I told her she better get her hands out of my face. She told me she was calling the police. I told her to call them. I would simply have them to pull her camera footage of how outrageous her behavior was. She asked me to leave so I did. Everyone has bad days but never on my worse day at work would I treat a customer like this. Any recommendations on groomers?
