The Pet Hospital - Earl in his cone of shame

My experience with this clinic was deeply disappointing, and I cannot recommend them based on the…read moreseries of preventable issues, miscommunication, and misleading information I encountered. 1. Poor Planning and Zero Post‑Op Access to a Doctor I scheduled a dental cleaning and lumpectomy (to remove a tumor underneath the cat's tongue) for a rescued feral cat on a Friday morning. The surgeon informed me she would be leaving halfway through the day to start her vacation. What I was not told until later is that this clinic has a strict policy: no phone access to a veterinarian after hours for any reason, even immediately after surgery. Scheduling this type of procedure on a Friday while offering no post‑operative doctor phone access over the weekend is irresponsible and puts both pets and owners in a difficult position. 2. Broken Promises, No Follow‑Through, and Dishonesty from Staff On Saturday morning, a veterinary technician called to check in. I explained several concerns, including the need for an appetite stimulant prescription, and told her I needed to speak with a doctor to determine whether any symptoms required urgent care. She initially refused, citing "policy," but eventually agreed and told me the doctor would call by 5 PM. No one called. I left two voicemails that afternoon. On Sunday morning, the same technician called and admitted: She never relayed my request to the doctor She "forgot" to call me back Nothing had been done about the prescription I requested When I insisted on speaking with the doctor, I learned she had also told him she had called me on Saturday and left a message -- which was untrue. I had to explain that she had already admitted she never called, and I offered to provide my call log to prove it. This level of miscommunication and dishonesty is unacceptable in any medical setting, especially post‑surgery. 3. Refund Mishandling and Misleading Information At checkout, the wrong card was charged. I immediately paid with the correct card and was told the remaining $494.60 would be refunded by check "the following week." What followed was weeks of contradictory and misleading information: Dec 31 (12 days later): I called for an update. I was told the check "had been mailed," but no date could be provided. Jan 6 (18 days later): I called again. This time I was told it was mailed on Dec 30. When I asked to speak with the office manager, she emailed me the same statement -- that it was mailed on Dec 30 -- without addressing any of the inconsistencies. When I asked for tracking information, I was told they would provide it "if they could find any." The check finally arrived on Jan 12 -- 24 days after the procedure -- and the postmark was Jan 6, the same day as my last inquiry. This means I was given incorrect information twice about when the refund was sent. 4. Overall Assessment Between: Scheduling surgery on a Friday with no post‑op doctor access. A technician who forgot critical follow‑up, failed to relay urgent messages, and misled both me and the doctor. Weeks of contradictory statements about a refund that was not mailed when claimed. ...I cannot trust this clinic with the care of any animal. Pet owners deserve honesty, competence, and basic follow‑through. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

A very involved procedure, considering the vascular and nervous system entanglements of the tumor…read more Dr. John helped GoodBoy come through with flying colors. A year later, the 8 to 10 incision site is barely visible, and his facial paralysis is very minimal. We are very pleased with the outcome, in addition to the professionalism and diligence of the Doctor.

After seeing the regular vet and my cat's serious illness not improving, I called Urgent Vet ahead…read moreof time to ask about bringing my cat in for IV fluids. They told me to come in the next day so I got there when they opened the next morning. They ran labs and I had to wait 2 hours for the vet to then tell me they don't offer IV fluids and refer me to an emergency vet. Every hour is critical for the illness my cat has so they wasted a ton of time and the damage could be irreversible because of that according to the vet. Also wasted $400 in duplicate charges because I had to go to the emergency vet immediately from there. Update to review- The practice manager did reach out to me and apologized. She said they will improve their training on this to try to prevent it in the future, which I appreciate and is why I brought up the issue. I also want to say the vet tech and vet that we saw there were great despite not being able to provide the treatment my cat needed.

Closed office but not online. Got several text verifying apt but when arrived no answer note on…read moredoor said closed. Then got text as if I no showed and my apt was cancelled. Ironic Really sad because I only use in extreme emergencies due to past history of bad experiences and always wanting thousands of dollars of unnecessary testing and when declined the vet refused to work with me any longer. Nothing like consumer choice! The only reason I went back tonight was because my last dog had a heart attack and end of life and the vet that evening was great. If you had to close you post online as well if that is how to schedule apt
