I…read moreused to eat a lot of processed foods and I actually love baked sweet potatoes, asparagus and zucchini. Who knew! I found it challenging at times because I needed to prepare meals further in advance and my family members who was forced along for the ride were supportive yet not overly excited about the meals. I purchased the two kitchen appliances that Samantha recommended and I have been really happy with them. I never actually got to the point where I felt like I had more energy which Nick, my CrossFit instructor, thinks is because I wasn't eating enough. I didn't lose a single pound until this morning. Yesterday was a celebration day for me after completing the challenge. I ended up eating a Pizza Hut pizza for lunch and a sandwich from a food truck for dinner while at an event last night, (don't judge me :)). Strangely, I lost 3 pounds by this morning. I was also happy to see that I dropped my time for the benchmark Diane from 4:08 to 3:13. While my mile run was 3-4 seconds longer, I felt pretty good and strong during it. Athlete meals are larger portions, ranging from 600-800 calories, where lifestyle meals are fewer -- I think 400-600 calories? They have meals in the fridge and ready to eat and also frozen ones. Weekly meal plans are available starting at 12 meals. They have seasonal menus so you can get a variety of foods. The containers are recyclable, and oven safe up to 250 degrees and they have a card with heating and spices/sauces best practices to make your meals the best. In addition to meals that you can pick up, they offer several fuel shakes, energy bites and more. Outside of meals, PLN has the inbody scanner to track more than your weight, but body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, and basal metabolic rate. The results print out and the staff can go over what each item means. It comes in handy as a way to track progress.
