Always crowded, inconsistent, and rushed service. The food is the typical "not bad and not good" label. However, the service here is terrible. I've gone separate times with separate servers and they have always inconsistently short changed me on the chicken. One guy gave me just a tiny scoop and I pointed it out and even the folks standing near me said they gave me way too little. The server said you have to order extra meat to get more. I told him look at the guy over there he's got a pile of meat on his and he didn't order extra meat. The next time I went, once again the server just scraped up what's left in the chicken bin and I told him I want the new batch. Because there's not enough chicken. The problem I noticed consistently is that these guys give women more meat and they are the ones that typically eat less and dumps them out. What a waste! Never been to a bad chipotle? Here's your chance. I know everyone comes here and the lines are long but even this one when compared to the ones in NYC and Hoboken move ever so slowly. This is normally due to the bottle necking a the cashiers station who seems to always be in training. The food is not up to the chipotle standard where the pinto beans seem to just have been boiled. And the tomatoes just seem like they added water to it. This place is just trying to pass mediocre food as chipotle. And you will never get your app-ordered food anywhere close to the estimated time of pickup and that is due to them not using the separate to-go station to prep the food. read more

I've been meaning to write this review so here I go. Two Sundays ago I went to Chipotle and purchased a steak and rice bowl for dinner. Let me just say I've been going to this location for YEARS, and the quality of the food, employee service and overall experience had deteriorated to such an extent that I will no longer purchase food here. The counters were dirty with remnants of food, the cashier pants were hanging so low, that I saw most of his boxers which out lined the crack of his ass. KIDS are running the place and it's a mess. This location is just an average Chipotle. They are located just right outside the food in Menlo Park Mall. There's usually a big crowd at lunch and dinner times as usual. I usually get the steak bowl with the wraps on the side. I never ran into issues with the staff throwing the food around and hopefully not. Although, I noticed that they tend to slap the ingredients in the bowl. It can look messy at times but its going to be consumed anyway. Doors were locked at 8:05 when I arrived with a crowd of people who ordered online, Uber/DoorDash drivers, and people trying to go in to eat. Just about your average Chipotle location. I'd say they started skimping on how much food they put in the burritos and the link, my friends can easily finish these in a quick sitting. If you get vegetarian the guac is free, otherwise it's extra. Lunch rush starts about 12:30 from all the local offices coming together, Friday's are by far the busiest. read more

I understand with COVID things may be tough, and usually I have a lot of patience, but this location has been going downhill & tonight's order was awful. We placed an order online and although the labels on the lids were correct, the entrees were all wrong. We got a bowl instead of a burrito, they completely mixed up my bowl with my father's, and the bowl I got was overflowing with sour cream to the point where it was nauseating. Great food and even better service! I've been to many Chipotles in my day and I usually enjoy it every time. Today, Isel and Selena made my dinner experience especially enjoyable. They took the time to bring out a new batch of peppers and onions for my steak bowl and insisted that they provide my wife with an extra scoop of sour cream. All the while they were joking and smiling with us, the rest of their staff, and the other customers in line. I have come to expect fresh and delicious food at Chipotle, and I am going to make the Menlo Park location my main spot due to their friendly and engaging service. Mediocre food. Major attitude. I've been here multiple times and it's as if the staff is making an effort to be rude and unfriendly to customers. While they regularly smile, laugh and joke with each other (and carry on conversations among themselves while "serving customers"), once it comes time for customer interaction the smile is gone. And typically replaced with a scowl. Theres as little dialogue as possible and they seem miffed when you're simply conveying your order. There's one young woman working there who wears oversized glasses and extra blush who is particularly rude. And that attitude come thru in the food. I went to the mall, just because I wanted chipotle and this was the closer one. This location was not clean and there was mess from leftover food that was sitting there for like an hour +. Anyways the taste of the food was regular, but I noticed I got diarrhea right after eating this and then throughout the day. It was the only food I ate for the day, apart from bread. So today we went to this Chipotle and for some strange reason, we were on line for 30 minutes practically. There were only 5 people in front of me and we had to wait for rice to cook as well as for the steak. My friends and I got 3 meals 2 of the orders were burrito. The burrito I was given had barely any ingrediants in it, the cook added barely any chicken or rice into and to msake matters worse my friends burrito was so overstuffed that it ripped completely open. I do not know what was going on with the staff today but this was not my greatest visit. This isn't this the first time I've visited this location and have had to wait an excessive time. The staff seems utterly unconcerned with the customers and not even aware of what ingredients are in their products. I am shocked at some of the lower ratings that this Chipotle has because after today, this has easily become my favorite Chipotle compared to the one in New Brunswick and South Plainfield!!! The line was long when I got there, but it went by very quick (probably 6-7 min max). They give you larger portions than the NB and SP ones, which I appreciate a lot (I literally only get 10 pieces of lettuce when I ask for it at the latter locations). I don't get why NB and SP are stingy for no reason and plus their service sucks and the employees look and sound miserable every time. The service here is pretty good and the staff is friendly when you ask for things, despite them being busy. What I noticed and I really applaud this place for is that one of the workers (not sure if he was the manager or not) was praising the other workers for their hard work. This is the last time I step foot into this location. I ordered the same burrito that I always do, but they always mess it up. I ask for rice (they put a little spoonful), I ask for extra steak(they put the last little pieces of steak that are left), It's just so annoying. Like you really can't ask for them to bring out FRESH steak? And to top it all off, the rice was so mushy, it wasn't even completely cooked yet it was super wet! DISGUSTING! I will go on and on for days on the great debate between Chipotle and Moes. I'm sorry, Moes ( same with Qdoba and Pancheros! ) is DISGUSTING and Chipotle is one of the greatest things ever created. I'm only reviewing this location because it is the closest to my house, but I have been to way more than 50 across the US ( Yes, I am/still obsessed and can eat this everyday of my life). This location is awesome. They have the system down to a T, just be prepared for super long lines. 1 tip- download the app on your phone and pre-order your meal to save time. Throughout the country, the food is almost exactly the same..... delicious! My friends used to make fun of me cause I checked into chipotle on Fb at least 3-4 times a week for a LONG time. Sad to say, I have cut down on my addiction! In NYC, California, North Carolina, Arizona and a whole lot of other cities/States sell alcohol, as well as margaritas. Be warned though, the margaritas are strong and worth it! Oh, and the Chipotles down south have sweet tea. Let's see, the meal I get almost every single time is- a double steak burrito bowl, double white rice, corn, mild salsa, half sour cream, half guac and extra cheese. I like Chipotle. It's fine for what it is. But I just cannot fathom how all these years later Chipotle still manages to pack people in like they are giving away free money. Until this week, I had never eaten at the Menlo Park Mall Chipotle. Why? Because I just refuse to stand on a line that snakes all the way through the food court and out into the mall. And yet, no matter when I have ever come here, that's exactly the scene unfolding. But this week was different. Instead of a line of 80 or so hungry, burrito-bowl-loving Chipotle fanatics waiting to order, it was more like 20. Even then, I would normally walk away, but Chipotle is one of the few places where you can actually get a decent Vegan meal. I'm a big fan of their sofritas, which is essentially organic tofu, chilis, poblanos, and spices all braised together. They are correct in advertising that Vegans and carnivores alike should enjoy the stuff, since my dual personalities find me alternating between both classifications quite regularly. Whatever the case, it's good. Leave out the rice and beans and ask for extra onions and peppers and you can get out of here in decent caloric shape and still enjoy a flavorful, filling meal. If you're lucky you can snag a seat in the back by the window, place your back to everyone else in the mall, and actually have a relaxing time away from all the chaos behind you. read more

I ordered a veggie burrito today, but it was nothing like I am used to at chipotle. Firstly the woman slapped on the beans and rice with their juices running everywhere. Then the other larger woman rolling it, didn't even roll it correctly. I didn't have as much filling as I would normally, but even then the filling was spilling out and she continued to roll it. The outside wasn't covered in sauce and the burrito was falling apart. To make things worse, wrapping it in foil spread the sauce further outside the burrito. I was appalled. I find the chicken is nicely seasoned. Sometimes they skimp on the amount you'd get in a burrito bowl. I usually stick with their burritos when I go. One time on a really cold day, one of the workers wrapping the burritos was nice enough to wrap my burrito twice . She said that it would stay warm longer as I ordered it to go. In general, you get the typical Chipotle brand food with a very nice staff. read more

Well I didn't get e-coli. (so far so good). I would like to thank corporate Chipotle/McDonalds corporation for sending me this wonderful coupon in the mail for a free bowl/burrito/a few tacos. My trust in your big giant big brother food corp has been restored. While I have read the reports in the news about the outbreak/ the closed stores / the people in hazmat suits sweeping the Chipotles across the nation, I braved the weather and showed up with coupon in hand. Well here goes: I made the tough decision and picked brown rice over white. Then I proceeded to select black beans over the kidney variety. Next was meat. Now this was a free coupon with no restriction on meat, so I went for the most expensive of course: Steak. I got 1 solid scoop and I was hoping that the server would dig in for another 1/2 scoop but she didn't. I moved on. Next I selected my salsa: In case you don't know you can choose multiple ones. I got the mild and hot. Next came corn and sour cream followed by me skipping on the guacamole. Now here is the best tip for all of you. DO NOT GET THE CHOPPED SALAD on your burrito or bowl. It is a well know fact that the salad is the source of this e-coli. I was well informed prior to my visit and salad has the biggest opportunity for some serious growth of bad bacteria. I proceeded to sit in my iron/stainless steel booth and downed my steak bowl. I added some Tabasco of the red variety. It was a good solid meal. The best meals are often the free meals I have learned over the years. I hope the Chipotle/McDonalds corp sends me some more coupons. On top of it when explaining to staff the issue they do not care and we're overly rude to my fiancé which is unacceptable. My main gripe with Chipotle is the cost-to-food ratio. On the one hand I love that they stress how their meat comes from humanely raised animals - there's no doubt in my mind that I would pay extra for that. However, I almost always order the vegetarian salad which is lettuce, black beans and grilled veggies for $7. I do think a scoop of guacamole is included in the price so that's good since guacamole on the side runs $2 (what's up with the crazy cost of guacamole - I can get a whole avocado for $2). I'm always a bit shell-shocked when it comes time to pay but the food is good. And the service here is usually pretty competent. I guess when it comes down to it I'd rather pay a little bit more here as opposed to taking my chances in the food court. read more
