This is my go-to fish and chip shop in Stratford. Portion size is amazing, everything is fresh, and it gets super busy. They open from 11 - 8pm and close on Sundays, Which takeaway in Newham does that and still surviving!! ( those who don't know the area, there are literally hundreds of takeaways in the area) They recently had a revamp, modernising their kitchen. One noticeable thing is their menu board, and in the corner - a video clip of how they make their pizzas. That is how they pride themselves, and the confidence to say that they make the best pizzas. Price wise - they are slightly dearer than your average chippy and considering there are so much choice for food in the area, they can justify it with their quality. He asked me if there was any food I didn't like, and I told him if I ever missed food, I didn't understand the question. When I walked into this place I found it to be a corner neighborhood, fish and chip shop and it was very busy. To me this is a very good sign. I got there about 6:30, and I got desk clerk friend recommended, which was the fried sausage with chips and some curry sauce. I also added a cod fillet because I wanted to try the fish as well. The curry sauce and the sausage together were amazing! Oh, did I mention that the curry sauce was amazing?! Oh ya, I already told you how amazing the curry sauce was!! The fish was very good as well, the chips were spot on, and the curry sauce lifted everything on the plate to a new level for me. The curry sauce was nice and spicy and had a very full and rich flavor. As I sat and ate my meal, the place continued to bustle with people coming and going taking away food, and a few people sat down and ate as well. There are only a few tables in the place but they were all full the entire time I ate there and they must've served a dozen customers during the time that I ate. This place gets full marks for friendly service, smiling faces, EXCELLENT food, and all around great experience. Thank you for a wonderful meal. It is definitely a neighborhood staple and has a quaint ambience. A little out of the way for most casual eaters but if you want a delicious sausage, with curry sauce, look no further! The lemon sole and sticky toffee pudding were disappointing and we had to chase our sides. Cauliflower tandoori and N'duja croquettes were much better though. Gin and ginger cocktail was flat and a G&T (as an apology for the above) arrived as a gin and soda, twice.
