Then the technician, late without explanation, takes maybe 40 minutes to do a shoddy job of an entire upper floor (2guest rooms, master, stairs, hallway and bonus room). That was strange. I know how long it takes me and how long it's taken other companies and how long the estimate anticipated (2 hours). When I looked I found patches of the floor soaked and other areas dry. I asked the technician to go over clearly missed or stubborn areas that I doubted were done adequately. He did. By that afternoon those "spots" expanded. I emailed and called the company who argued that it could not have been the technician and proceeded to explain that sopping carpets were normal, that it was normal (in plus 27 degree weather with extreme sun covering the affected areas) for carpets to take 5 hours to dry! They offered to send the same man back to do the work again. I asked for a new technician. The SAME tech came back today and explained to me that he didn't know what I was talking about (one spot is larger than a splayed open hand, fingers included) but he would do what he could though he wasn't optimistic. At the end he actually asked me to review the job. I did but truly, what was the point as he denies there was any soiled patches period. To top it off the excuses I had from the lady who answers the phone were a matter if its all "normal" and the owner (Bob Keast) advised that, "After viewing the pictures I know that they spots can easily be rectified and I suspect that there was a conflict between our cleaning product and existing residue in the carpet." He, at least didn't act like it was a figment of my imagination. We will not be using this company again.

I saw a promotional add, and pricing, in the Coffee News publication and decided to give this company a shot at cleaning my carpets. The receptionist was very pleasant and was able to book my appointment a few days out. However, the morning of my 8:00am appointment I received a phone call (at 7:20am) saying the technician had called in sick and they were unable to honour my appointment. Now, I understand that people get sick and stuff happens, but I find it ridiculous that they didn't have another person able to fill in on short notice, or squeeze me in at the end of their day. (I had spent hours preparing my home for this service, and it was not in "livable" condition with furniture moved around and things placed in other rooms. Waiting another couple of days for a "make-up" appointment was NOT an option.) As a small-business owner myself, sometimes I work long days just to keep my clients satisfied. People set aside time out of their busy lives to meet service people at the scheduled time and then end up getting cancelled on. Not great business practices, by my standards.

Our concerns with Dang Good Furnace Cleaning are that they left our entire house a mess when…read morecleaning the ducts and furnace of our home July 29/26, and that the workers reported following company procedures when they did not. Virtually every surface/object in our house was covered in dust and debris by the time they left. The mess was extensive: chunks of lint on blinds and lampshades, dog hair blown to the top of a kitchen cabinet, dust embedded in crevices of furniture, and bedding was covered in dust. Everything stored downstairs in the furnace room had to be cleaned - even luggage. Because Dang Good had 2600+ 5-star reviews, we didn't think it was necessary to closely supervise the workers, so we didn't appreciate the full extent of the mess until they left. And it is also why we assumed that we had fallen for a scam, and didn't lodge a complaint to the company. However, when the owner, Mark, followed up a week later looking for a 5-star review, I relayed what happened. He sounded surprised as their procedures require covering ducts with plastic to create negative airflow which prevents dust blowback. He said he spoke with the employees who indicated that to the "best of their knowledge" they followed procedures: meaning that they recall covering 23 unique 1950's style vents with plastic, removing multiple screws from every vent in order to blow high pressure air into it, and then reattaching each vent when complete. We can attest they did not do this, and failing to do so explains the mess. Mark wanted to return to see our house, but we declined as we had already cleaned and it wouldn't change anything. Our money was refunded, but it's small consolation as it took us hours to clean our house and our blinds will never be the same. Our 1-star experience is far from the company's 2885 5-star reviews on Google, and we think people should be aware, because a Dang Good team may misremember making a mess of their house, too.
