There is a large parking lot to the south of the building. The double yellow lines on S. Rice Avenue do not align with entrances of the parking lot, suggesting the city needs to repaint those, as everyone who needs to turn left out of the parking lot does so illegally.

They're available for all of your Vietnamese Civic Center needs. There are lots of Civic centers around the city and Community Centers too, but not one that specifically caters to the Vietnamese Community, which is a massive part of Houston, and perhaps the most significant Viet community in the country - and this place is very useful in that regard.

The inside…read morewas nice and clean, the lobby area was small but maybe it was due to many tables for vendors. The theater was set up really nice. The chairs were hard but that's after sitting for long periods of time. From time to time we couldn't understand the performers due to the echo but mostly the sound was good. It's a nice place with lots seating, good stage views no matter where you sit and even a balcony section.

From what I've been told, this was the first Civic Center established in Fort Bend County, and there was nothing like it for years until some of the other suburbs started making their own. Despite its age, it's been kept up with very well. The lobby area is well maintained, there's ample parking with the school district parking right behind the building, and the acoustics are solid. In the main area, there are tiers of seating, including a balcony, and the chairs on the floor are movable so different setups can be accommodated. There's a lot of potential. I really think the city needs to figure out more ways to put the building to use. It would be great for smaller events that wouldn't fit well at the Stafford Center's theater.

There is a full-service kitchen with an icemaker. Rhonda, the Facilities Services Manger was a delight to work with, and she answered all of my questions before the event quickly and clearly. She and her staff were on-site and the event went off like a dream. They had an event before us in the morning and the room was spotless and perfectly set up when we arrived. The team was so kind and helpful, I am thrilled with how everything went. I couldn't have pulled this off without them.
