Took a day off to make sure my cat got sorted. The lady on the desk make it sound like the fault is on me that I came to the wrong branch, which is unacceptable and quite rude since the email I got is a proof of that. The only good thing is she managed to request appointment in the other branch which is in the other side of the city and is quite hassle to get there because of the distance and there is an repair on the other place so the parking will be a nightmare. Please own it if you made a mistake, that's the point of the customer service. Don't make it sound like your patient made a mistake and make us feel bad about it. My cat is already stressed, me and my fiancé also struggle about it, but please please don't make us feel even more worse with trying to put the blame on us. I really appreciate that you manage to get the appointment sorted in different place on the same day. Thank you for that. This review is for the service from the front desk customer service and the system, not for the vets since this is my first time there. Hopefully the service in the front desk doesn't reflect the quality of the vets for Daisy.

We visited this vet today (18/04/2011) for the first time after recieving a recommendation from a…read morefriend. Upon arrival, there was no introduction from the vet, and did not see to want to meet my nervous german shephard. The vet seemed very annoyed that he was meeting a new patient, and after I asked him why he felt so upset, he became verbally aggressive towards myself, pregnant fiancee, and dog. After he started to verbally attack us about the nature of our dog (whom is very anxious around new people as he is a rescue dog), we decided to leave. I would not recommend this man to anyone! He is a very rude, arragant and a vile man. I do not know how he has sustained his business so far.

He is the only vet there and so you get his full and personal attention (he did take a brief vacation last year when he had a young lady take his place - and she was wonderful too!). Indeed you could imagine a British TV show about this man and his business. Oh wait a minute - that was done already back in the day (1978-1990): "All Creatures Great and Small" The surgery itself comprises a waiting area and his office/surgery. We LOVE the personal service that he gives, so does our beloved little guy "Ricky Martin" our 6 year old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix born (and dumped roadside) in Houston, TX - thank goodness we found each other!! The occurrence that comes to mind is about 6 months ago when little Ricky (on an extended leash while walking with me) was attacked with no warning by a ferocious German Shepherd (Alsatian) which the owner was allowing to run free (forbidden in the UK) - yes I later found the address of the thoughtless owner, reported him to the police and now he has to keep the dangerous dog on a leash with a muzzle or he will go to prison. However, Ricky was bleeding and we got him immediately to the Doc who calmed him, shaved the area of the bite, studied and informed us that had the bite been 1/4 inch deeper or 1/4 inch to the left the carotid artery would have been severed and he would have bled out on the spot. He explained everything to us, advised why he was NOT going to use stitches, gave us painkillers for the little guy and antibiotics. Follow up a week later and all has been well since he pretty much fully recovered a month or so later. Poor little Ricky will not walk with me through those areas where he was attacked - his memory remains, as does ours of this wonderful, caring vet Two big thumbs up and one little paw up! We first had to rush our cat…read moreIfrit to their 24 hour service a few months ago and were so kind and understanding when I explained my situation (not only a poor student but a poor disabled student relying on public transport) and let me work out first bus I could get to get Ifrit seen ASAP. Recently had to return to Manor Vets Edgbaston as it appears Ifrit has cystitis again and they're currently processing his urine samples today - a rush to make sure no underlying problems! By phone they are incredibly kind and patient, very understanding, and gave me numbers for the Cats Protection and Friends of the Animals for badly needed help with the cost of vets consultation and neutering fee for which I am incredibly grateful for. Some vets can be quite snobby and look down on lower-income people, but this recently refurbished state of the art veterinary practice is far from snobby. Treats were provided for the furry patients which helped Ifrit relax in the waiting room, and everyone there was definitely a pet person, creating a calming, warm, welcoming atmosphere. They've also given brilliant advice on foods that help his condition and it is little touches like that make me so grateful we chose Manor Vets.

He had to have surgery and stay in for a few days and well, he didn't want to come home! They are well cared for and loved by all the staff there. They use their name to make them feel at home. I was given an initial quote which seems very reasonable although after the surgery they said they had complications which then increased my bill which is understandable. It is quite a busy little pratice but they do make room for you if you call for an appointment. There are emergency consultations too. A great vets and the only one I ever go to now.

Elwood and Briggs have been there, not just for our beloved dogs, but for us too, for the past…read moredecade. The care and professionalism that they have shown is second to none. They have seen two of our cherished pets from puppyhood through to that awful last goodbye, and their compassion and support could not be bettered. At one point when we discovered that one of our young Springer Spaniels needed complicated orthopaedic surgery, our fears for the little lad were calmed by realising what incredibly good hands he was in. Everything that Mr Elwood said would happen, did happen, and our boy was given many more years of happy and active life. Even when we moved away for a short time, we still continued to use them and were happy to travel in order for our dogs to keep that wonderful level of care that all the members of the surgery gave them. Looking at the reviews this vets seem to have improved considerably…read more I used them around 10 years ago. The turning point for me was when I rang in as an anxious pet owner asking about treatment for my dog, the receptionist thought she put me on hold. She then proceeded to use every F word possible and scream that she couldn't F'ing cope with me. Her supervisor came on the phone and I advised her that I had heard everything and she could only apologize. I immediately changed vets and informed them that I could not leave any animal of mine in their care if that is how they spoke about their clients! I also took a Terrapin in for treatment which I had found, the vet looked and hinted they were not funded for wildlife but said the Terrapin looked alright. I then rang the RSPCA who took the poor creature to a sanctuary, it died en route. Coincidentally they then took it to Peak Vets who diagnosed extreme muscle waste. So not alright then? Still they didn't have to treat it as it was dead. The Partner Steve rang me to ask me to clear my bill, no apology! He has since retired. So it was 10 years ago, still a lot of the staff I spoke to are still there. Sorry but had I not heard how that receptionist/vet nurse and her disgusting and disturbing outburst then I would have been none the wiser. Lets hope they have changed!

Both vets obviously love animals and they are wonderfully reassuring to us worried owners too. The reception staff are also extremely friendly and are on-hand to answer enquiries by email as well if you haven't got an urgent problem. I would definitely recommend these to anyone in the area.
